“The hostel is situated near a fjell, so the surrounding area is beautiful. Breakfast was pretty good and the hostel kitchen was pretty well equipped. The rooms were spacious.”
“Everything. It was a fantastic holiday home, spacious, warm, cosy and comfortable with absolutely loads of unexpected extras including an easy washing machine, a fantastic sauna and a beautiful veranda looking out into the forest. The beds were comfortable and the shower was excellent. The small kitchen is well equipped and the TV is massive! It really is a beautiful, atmospheric log cabin in the woods, so quiet and snowy! The roads are well maintained and the street is easy to find, and its only a very pleasant 15 mins walk to the large supermarket, the frozen lake, the ski rental places and the restaurants. The underfloor heating was wonderful and the wood burning fire was terrific. Also there was a supply of things other people had bought and left there, such as washing powder, washing up liquid, cooking things like oil, salt and pepper, etc, candles, matches, firelighters, so we didnt have to buy them all over again.... excellent.”
“Very comfortable spacious cabin for our family. Well equipped with Sauna after the day outside. The price was reasonable and we got discount from the local sportstore when renting equipment.”
“A fancy boutique place by the lake with perfect sauna cottage (paid extra, but experience definitely worth every penny – private sauna + cool down in the frozen lake + hot tube outside), great breakfast nicely served with wide choice, and with stunning view, staff very friendly and helpful, a little bit small, but just enough room wit marvelous view and comfy bed (without tv so it might be disadvantage for someone, but in my opinion in such place it’s just the right thing not to have it), fantastic place for aurora hunting as you just need to take a few steps to the frozen lake, good communication to husky sledges, snow mobile attractions, ski resort”
“In short we didn't know what to expect and we absolutely loved it. It was our first time in Yllas after several years in Saasriselka where we've always stayed in hotels. What the lodge offered was something much more personal but without being intrusive. The staff are exceptional in their warmth and the place feels cosy and authentic as well as being clean and well maintained. The breakfast was healthy and generous; porridge, muesli, cheese, fresh yoghurt and bread, boiled eggs and of course coffee. The lodge is 3 minutes walk from the cross country tracks and 12 minutes from the supermarket if you're cooking your own evening meals as we did one several nights. Overall though it's excellent.”
“Fairytale hotel, wonderful to be holed up there in the winter with the snow falling all around. Food was great (amazing breakfast, gorgeous dinners), nice sauna, handy for skiing and other activities (ski bus takes you direct to the slopes in about 15 mins and is pretty regular.)
Rooms spacious, well designed and clean, comfy beds and decent shower.
It’s the staff though that really made the difference. A happy family of people who went out of their way to look after me, a warm welcome at reception and bending over backwards to look after me at dinner…as a solo traveller it means the world.”
