Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

South AfricaNothing, everything was perfect.
From the time we entered Mzo at the gate greeted us with the biggest smile. The staff, food and service at Cheetah Lodge was nothing short of exceptional. From the time we arrived til we left, the staff always made sure we were comfortable. Leslie our guide was superb, he made sure we didn’t miss out on any animal sighting, and has a vast and great knowledge of the reserve and its contents. He always made sure we were comfortable during our drives. All of our dietary requirement were met, and the food each day was world class.

United KingdomThis is a difficult one as I became ill on the first night, either a tummy bug or food poisoning. It is unlikely that it was caused by our delicious evening meal as another two of our party of 4 became ill 12 hours later. None of us ate the same combination of courses. However, it did mean that I was only able to enjoy one meal & no game drives on our 2 night stay. Each of the other 3 managed one enjoyable game drive, but 2 only had one dinner and 1 breakfast. So sadly, we paid for a lot of what we could not enjoy or participate in. The Manager & staff did everything to assist & directed us to a Pharmacy/Clinic before we drove to the airport for our flights back to UK 🇬🇧 I hope one day to return & be able to enjoy our stay.
The menu was excellent, as were the facilities. Our Ranger, Kayla was lovely & so helpful. We were made welcome & our room was fabulous.

United KingdomAmazing lodge, every little thing is done with thought and purpose. The staff are wonderful, the rooms are amazing and the food is delicious. Staying in the lodge just for a short get away is worth what you pay, let alone the game drives that are simply incredible.

United KingdomLeaving!
Last minute midweek trip...easy to organise and excellent value for money. Clean well laid out with excellent facilities, the staff were very friendly and efficient and unobtrusive. Food was good and varied choice. The luxury cottages were superb with a view over a dam and visiting wildlife. Whilst a game reserve and not a national park the game was still elusive as it should be. Our guide Jerry was very knowledgeable and spread out information on small things such.as Acacia ants, birds, spiders.and plants and not just the big 5......have you ever seen a pregnant chameleon?

South AfricaNothing - all was great
They catered brilliantly for both adults and kids. The rate included all drinks ( alcoholic and non alcoholic ). With it being a smaller facility, it felt alot more personal than other larger bush camps. The kids even got a full history lesson from Brandon on the boer war which they totally loved!

The whole experience was absolutely amazing! From being greeted by Mzo at the gate to the end of our stay, we were treated like family and all our needs satisfied. Gerry was fantastic, he was so knowledgeable on the game drives, we learned so much. The snacks and drinks on the game drives was a nice touch. All the staff was great👏 , particularly Siya and Siphesihle at the bar. The food was delicious, we had more than enough and didn't even have time to get hungry 😋. The room was beautiful and comfortable, overlooking the dam which meant we could spot some animals, which was a bonus. All in all, we had a wonderful time and would be recommending the lodge to all our friends and family. Thank you everyone 💓

United KingdomCheetah Ridge is pure luxury without any pretentiousness. The staff were warm, friendly and made us feel right at home. The food is some of the tastiest we have had on our travels and with drinks included you have your choice of tasty wines, spirits and beers. Definitely try the Nambiti sunset gin. We travelled with our 2 year old and the team were engaging and really helpful and thoughtful in accommodating our little man, especially Precious! The stay included 2 game drives a day, and these were PHENOMENAL. Our guide Calden, was extremely knowledgeable and passionate and took us to some beautiful spots on the reserve for sundowners and snacks. The reserve is home to the Big 5 and with it being on the smaller side we saw everything from cheetah, to brown hyena and Calden went out of his way to ensure we saw what we hoped to see. Coming back to a delicious breakfast spread after an early morning game drive was so appreciated. The beds are super comfortable and linen is luxurious and cannot recommend Cheetah Ridge enough!

South AfricaI really didn’t like that they played music in the lunch, dining area. I come to the bush to listen to the birds and veld Although I asked many times for it to be softer or off I wasn’t very successful. The only answer is to ask to have your dinner or breakfast under the tree on the deck.
Beautiful area of our country, the accommodation was clean with great view although we didn’t see many animals at the dam. Our guide Brent was really knowledgeable and we learned a lot.
