Rozanne the hostess was incredible... warm welcome, amazing cooking and truly helpful. The location is simply the best with access to many hikes, walks and even a heritage site.

The only disappointment was not being able to go horseriding due to weather conditions and other reasons.

Absolutely stunning location in the Northern Drakensberg Mountains - breathtaking views from the comfy little wooden cabins. Amazing food cooked freshly every day - from tailor made breakfast to an excellent three-course dinner every evening. The common lounge provides a cosy environment to while away rainy afternoons reading or playing board games. Range of walks for different abilities, including children, and management can provide excellent advice on these. All in all a wonderful place to disconnect and enjoy nature.

I have stayed here before - it is not pretentious and that is exactly what I like. You have everything you need in the wooden chalet: it is spacious, comfortable and clean. The meals are delicious and the setting is absolutely beautiful!

I loved the location and it was definitely the best views I’ve ever had in the berg. Having no signal or wifi for 3 days was lovely. The food and quality was exceptional and the staff amazing. The walking and swimming in the dam was a highlight for me.

Beautiful location with stunning views and nice walking trails. The cabins were very cosy. At night it got quite cold, but there was a fireplace in the bedroom and the staff put warm water bottles in the beds. The meals were great and so were the staff and the dogs! We had a great time here, highly recommended!

This is not much of a complaint, as they do warn you, but you really do need a 4x4 to drive yourself up to the resort but they will happily assist with this if you do not have one. We took a tailer on the back of a 4x4 and it was slightly hair-raising. The other items that I wish we had brought, as they do not offer any there, are your own picnic blanket as well as swimming towels.

The food was amazing, like really good home cooked food! The views and location were stunning. There were many options for hiking, horse riding, fishing. The staff were delightful, very helpful and friendly.

The is is the real scape away. If you are a nature lover, like hiking, and looking for a place to free yourself from the stress of the city and work, I'll definitely recommend you the Green Fire Lodge. The location was perfect!!! The food amazing!! The staff very friendly, a bonus for JJ, he was just amazing.

for the last way up to the lodge you should either have a 4 wheel car or Jeep. very rocky and bumpy, sometimes goring through (light) water. better to get picked up by the lodge

Nothing, everything was exceptional. Maybe some cushions on the stoep as it was a little uncomfortable after a while.

I enjoyed it being so secluded from pretty much everywhere with little to no signal! It’s a good place to escape from the city life with breathtaking views wherever you would look. The owners hospitality was exceptional and you felt very welcomed!
