Unfortunately not all the waiters are as attentive and helpful as Derrick is. We told our waiter that we needed to be quick because we were going on an activity and when we asked for our food we felt ignored and were not given an eta. We were about to leave for the activity when I asked if the food would be ready when we got back and then suddenly it arrived.

The view from our room was incredible. Derick the waiter/,guide was amazing, super friendly and helpful. The 4 dogs! Odin, Bella, Mila and Coco? (I can't remember the white one's name) Very attentive and helpful owners and Rochelle at reception was also very friendly, helpful and welcoming. I can highly recommend the delicious cocktails from the bar! We booked a kayak trip and turtle tour and thoroughly enjoyed both activities with the beautiful scenery and informative guides, Vusi? and Victor.

Really the only problem I had was that the gilly they provided for fishing wasn't good and I wasted a lot of money.

Eskom Load Shedding of 4 hours extended to 6-8 hours on both nights. Very little cell phone signal (great for leaving city life behind, but not so great when you can't get hold of management when having issues with gas). Magneto lights not adequate for extended hours of load shedding.

Jodhi was in contact with us leading up to our stay assisting with directions; and both Rachael & Johdi were very helpful in arranging the activities for us. Rachelle greeted us with great enthusiasm and explained the activity options in detail. The unit was adequately equipped for a comfortable stay for self catering. Beds were comfortable and bedroom space sufficient. Our log cabin had a deck attached overlooking the water pan and we enjoyed bonfires each night to compensate for the extended Eskom Load shedding. The 3-Lake boat tour offered by Casitas is a MUST. Thami, our skipper - who has grown up in Kosi Bay, was super informative about the lakes, traditions and the nature of the area. He was not only informative, and had a great sense of humour too. A snorkeling trip at Kosi Mouth with Safari and Surf Wilderness Adventures was exceptional with Rick and Simon guiding us on our very first snorkel. Another bucket list item ticked! Great pub and restaurant area by the poolside has awesome vibes and great music. The best fresh-cut-skin-on-potato chips ever tasted! and home made pao delicious!

The advertisement indicates wifi, but there is no wifi in the chalet. Since we only spent one night there, it wasn't a deal-breaker, so I'll recommend the place to others.

The chalet was clean, the food from the restaurant was tasty, and the staff were friendly. Each bed in the chalet was fitted with a mosquito net. The dogs were also happy and friendly.

We just needed overnight accommodation leaving Mozambique back to Johannesburg and Kosi Bay Casitas were the perfect option. Accommodation was well equipped and comfortable and the location is great.

There's nothing bad about the Casitas. About the area ... I strongly recommend that you ask for advice from the Casitas team and plan to snorkel early, not just based on tide, but rather go to the mouth, especially, due to beaches becoming overly crowded with inebriated people on weekends. Also, signage in the area is nonexistent, and Google maps will lose signal, so ask for directions as it really helped us.

The chalet's rustic feel. The frogs and other bush sounds at night! The restaurant is great, and theirpizzas live up to their reputation - generous topping and lovely thin base. The prawns were yummy too! The Casitas have lots of activities available. The turtles, incredible, and the boat trip are highly recommended!!!

Super friendly Staff and lovely restaurant. We arrived late, but the menu was sent to us via What's App, so that we could put in our order before the kitchen closed, that was really appreciated. Chalet was rustic, yet clean and suited our needs.

You can maybe give a restaurant discount for staying guest. It's a bit expensive although I can understand charging this for such a remote area. The food was great though 😍

Wifi and cell reception not always great

The staff was exceptional and cater for our needs in a friendly matter and very attentive. (thanks Ashley and Alicia!). Location is good and close to permit office as well as midway between beach and town. Food at restaurant was very good. we had a fun holiday without any complications

Hot water from the gas geyser in the shower was temperamental/non-existent for the first three nights. They were very concerned and helpful and finally sorted it out. The sense of spaciousness from other units and the view weren't quite what the online pics showed. If you're content with rustic and basic in order to explore the astonishing local beauty, then this is a good place to stay. The warmth and friendliness of the staff make up for a lot.

Ashley, who was managing the place for our stay, was incredibly helpful and friendly, and the dogs on the property were a treat.
