Limited variety of food and very small helpings. Chalet was too far from lodge - inconvenient as we had all our meals at the restaurant.

    Breakfast was above average.

Owners need to help staff/ chef by a simplified menu to 4-5 dinner items done much better. Food was not up to par. Staff is terrific! Trying so hard!

The tree house style African lake vibe was terrific.

very disorganised - no coordination between staff teams no management visible staff were generally friendly and made an effort but require additional training and support from management lack of communication to guests, I.e. late ferry pick up air con kept tripping with no solve other than need to request someone to manually switch back on

Uncomfortable bed, too soft and springy. The walk to the restaurant in the evening from the chalet was far, dark and didn't feel safe. When picking a room it's difficult to tell whether booking is for the Nibela side or Sobhengu side

Beautiful location, and friendly staff. Delicious food.

There were no dairy alternatives for any of the coffees so we went light on dairy while we were there. It wasn't a huge issue, though I can imagine you can out this explicitly in a request when they call you up a few days before to discuss dietary requirements.

This place is actually such a lovely experience. We went there as a couple on our honeymoon as part of a trip around South Africa and found this place on booking.com. We're so so glad we came here. The staff are really what made this place what it is. Every single person introduced themselves. Everyone was accomodating and was proactive - this is what differentiates transactional customer service with an experience that makes you feel valued and welcomed as a family member. Now, I must say that driving there should definitely consist of a 4x4 or high clearance vehicle. We made a massive mistake of driving there from richard's bay in a tiny red dishwasher of a car, in the pitch darkness. However, the staff know about these issues and actually all live locally (they even know how many hippos are in the lake!) So they came in a pick up truck to help navigate us when we got scared of the animals at night. Directions on Google are being fixed but I'd either recommend Waze or I'd recommend using the directions given by the hotel. We arrived about 20 minutes before a major storm so some activities were off the table (like visiting the wetlands as they were flooded!) For the rest of the week. Though we went on all other tours. Even when we didn't have cash to pay our driver for the big 5 safari (highly recommend) the lodge just paid it and billed us at the end, saving us yet again! When we asked to move rooms as it can get quite slippery and my wife's ankle is bad, they did it in 20 minutes. When we wanted laundry done before our next leg, they promised 24 hours and they did it in just over 12 (they were dried and pressed too!) To add to all of this, they've got board games and amazing cocktails and food to help you kill time. The food actually was a major highlight. We worked our way through the whole menu as it was so nice! The burgers are a highlight by the way! They even called us a few days prior to arrival to check our dietary requirements.

    Nothing. Loved everything

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Mr Ngubane was an absolute star. He went above and beyond to make our trips pleasurable. The views and location is amazing. My kid was entertained. It was so peaceful and quiet, the only neighbour's we could see were the monkeys. I have recommended it to my friends and will be coming back again.

Food was not great and limited options. Cook (dont think there is use of qualified chef) could not prep the meals appropriately(not his fault but management should invest in keyman roles). The general manager did not bother to acknowledge us as guests so we could give feedback. Arrival experience at main gate not good. 20km gravel travel was not communicated to enable preparation and there were detours that were not explained. Poor communication from lodge. Lodge was nice but would not return.

Lodge clean and well kept. Tranquil and lake adds value to location.

Advise your guests exactly how far the rooms are from the Bar / Dining area and offer a closer location .

The rooms are almost 2 km away from the Dining and Bar areas . The location itself is not easy to access and they should recommend only 4x4 Vehicles only . Prepare for 1 hr dirt road ride to the reception of the location . Breakfast was good if you willing to wait over 1 Hr .

The arrival point and checking in was not clear. We had to walk a long distance with bags only to find at the reception that we did not need to. But no one was available at arrival area to communicate this to us. However once that was made clear . Our Jacuzzi also did not work, we reported they tried to fix it still. It was abit of a disappoinment

For No tv in the rooms .. the chalets are really far from each other so having a tv is not going to disturb the peace. Very limited menu... if staying for long then one can get bored of eating the same things everyday.

Lovely place but too far from everything... rooms were nice .. beds were comfortable.

Not within the property however on their boarder - litter!! Please educate before it gets out of hand and spoil this beautiful area.

Stunning location on the peninsula. Felt like a real getaway although it was only a short ferry ride from the mainland. The lake was over 100% with the recent floods with many trees under water. The setting was absolutely stunning especially with the full moon! Staff were all very friendly and willing to assist. Our guide Vincent, was very knowledgeable and helpful. We also enjoyed the food, with the Chef’s cooking skills exceeding expectations.
