We enjoyed everything about the property .

Traditional old South African home. The staff’s attention to detail was fantastic. Greeted with tea, homemade scones and Jam on arrival, perfect. Even washed our car before we left .

We were really looking forward to staying at the Schoone Oordt and on arrival we were not disappointed. Staff gave us a very warm welcome and assisted us with our luggage and showed us to our room. The room was huge and very tastefully decorated. The bathroom was a good size too with his and hers sinks, a shower and a bath. The room was very comfortable, clean and inviting. We took breakfast on both days which was very nice and also booked for dinner on one evening, which was also very good. This was a fabulous place to stay and was very quiet. The entire property is clearly very much loved and is furnished with all sorts of unusual bits and pieces. We would definitely stay again when next in the area.

An exceptionally comfortable place to relax and enjoy the beautiful town with an excellent location. The staff go above and beyond to make us feel like special guests. The rooms have great privacy and the grounds have plenty of options to walk around or take a swim.

Charming ‘old school’ country house hotel set in beautiful gardens & outdoor pool. Well furnished & very comfortable rooms with small outside terraces. Alison & her team are great hosts & ensure every guest is special. Thank you for a great stay & hope to see you again.

Unfortunately due to load shedding, our air-con unit did not work after dinner which resulted in a room move but thankfully the hotel had a spare room available and helped move us. It was a pity but the amazing staff were very helpful.

The hotel, common rooms, bedrooms, outside spaces and pool area are absolutely beautiful and designed in a gorgeous colonial style. Everything has been thoughtfully arranged. Dinner and breakfasts were excellent and very creative. All staff especially the owners could not do enough for their guests. If you are staying in Swellendam, then please stay here!

Rooms slightly outdated and brown carpet. However, this is outweighed by the super friendly Service and great meals in a beautiful dining room.

Amazing food both breakfast and dinner But best of all by a country mile was the helpfulness and delightful manner of the staff . They could not have been more accommodating and charming on any level. Without exception everyone we encountered was so willing to do everything to make our stay exceptional.

Loved it all!

Stunning property with beautiful original features in the house. Rooms quiet and extremely comfortable. Staff couldn’t be more helpful and we felt relaxed as soon as we arrived. Breakfast and dinner in the exquisite conservatory were amazing. Lovely pool which we had to ourselves for several hours. A great place to unwind.
