Long Lee Manor was the perfect place to celebrate the final few days of our honeymoon in South Africa. It was the perfect to come back to relax at after early morning game drives and the staff went above and beyond to make sure our experience was perfect. We can't wait to return some day soon!

I loved everything.

Everything...it was an amazing experience and I will be back again. The Manor was luxurious, the safaris were unforgettable our guide was very knowledgable and friendly. A stay not to be missed!

Nothing. The price initially but it was worth every penny

Everything, the facilities were beyond excellent, the staff were fantastic and the surroundings were surreal. The knowledge and expertise of the rangers (Jacques and Dale) was fantastic and really made our trip even more special.

Absolutely nothing stands out as negative.

Long Lee Manor makes you feel like you’re in a movie. Stunning colonial architecture with a breathtaking backdrop of the reserve. Coffee/tea, breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, and dinner, always with animals in sight. First time in Africa, first time doing a Safari. We’re in love! All thanks to Shamwari, and the staff and guides at Long Lee Manor!

The drive to the property off the high road .

The accommodation , safari , staff and food was outstanding . The vista from the infinity pool towards the water hole and safari back drop was breath taking . Our guide/ranger Abel was so knowledgeable

Nothing - however, as a reminder - it can get cold in the morning or when it is raining or windy (as you drive in an open vehicle for 3hrs with up to 50 km/h). The staff has blankets, ponchos etc, but do pack a hat (for sure, even in the sun) and maybe a beanie (warm hat), depending on how much your hands are out to take pictures, running gloves could also be an option. A warm sweater underneath or yoga pants beneath your outdoor pants are a good idea, too.

Simply great. Great location in many senses - the reserve itself (only 1 hour from the airport PLZ), the location of the manor in the reserve and of course the reserve as a biodiverse paradise. Food - great - suprisingly great we have to say. The Manor is spacious, our room was much larger than expected. It had a terrace facing the open reserve where you could see animals from a distance after a shower or having a coffee. The buildings have a modern country style touch, are very welcoming, open and invite to relax. There is "the usual" 5-star stuff to do, if you are not on a game drive (pool, spa, gym, etc). Which is great if you have a partner or you are in a group with people that are not into game drives as much - they will have a proper 5-star hotel experience and be able to relax anyway. - This is a main difference to camps with tents and less luxurious equipment. Staff is very friendly - nice concept of the ranger having breakfast with you afterwards so you can reflect upon what you have seen. Children - there is another camp in the reserve that is especially family friendly - I forgot the name - ask the reserve, they will tell you.

We had a wonderful stay and our ranger Abel was simply the best. We valued the very personal and kind attention and being invited to view Founder`s house and made to feel so welcome. Thank you! We have only one problem. We were delighted and so impressed and touched by the wonderful work done by the Born Free Foundation and the Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre and the delightful and energetic Lisa along with her charming companion and assistant, Miracle. We were inspired to give a donation to these two very worthy causes, and mentioned it to reception on our departure. We were advised to add it to our bill. I have had a small concern that these donations may not have been forwarded to their destinations as I have not received any acknowledgment of such. A thank you is not necessary, as they are both such worthy causes, but I would like to know that they have received them. The donation was R10,000 to Born Free and R10,000 to the Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre. We would really appreciate some acknowlegement that they have been received. Many thanks.

We were a bit concerned about the amount of food prepared for the number of visitors. it was not necessary to place so many dishes on the table. better for the guests to order only what they could eat from the menu
