Wifi and TV not working but no fault of the host as there was a big storm the night before we arrived. They tried to fix it without success. Path up and down from the house will give you good exercise with luggage but hosts were willing to help. Road short but managable if taken slowly.

Absolutely beautiful place and lots of attention to detail. Spotlessly clean and really comfortable. The view was spectacular! Host was friendly and helpful. Well worth staying there!

The roads are a bit difficult, but the host warns about this ahead of time. Otherwise, nothing negative to remark about.

The cottage is in a really beautiful location, with breathtaking views. It is really well maintained and a peaceful breakaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. It really has everything you need for a comfortable stay. There is a nice lodge with an amazing restaurant next door - pizza and cocktails come highly recommended.

Unfortunately, the roads leading up to Shepherd Farm are proudly South African. However, I drive a Suzuki Swift, and I managed. Just drive slowly and carefully.

The last few kilometres of road leading up to the farm are in very poor condition. We did manage it in a normal hatchback (not a 4x4) but it was slow-going. It would definitely be a challenge in the rain. Sadly the oven and microwave weren't working during our stay.

The cabin was really spacious and comfortable with stunning views of the mountains and the valley below. The balcony/deck is a great place to sit and enjoy the views for hours. We also enjoyed how peaceful and quiet it was. Vicky was also a great hostess and met us personally when we arrived.

We wanted to sit out a few days of rain during our trip to the Drakensberg. Turned out Shepherd Farm was the best location for that. Really cosy place. When it turned cold, the more than welcoming hosts immediately provided a gas heater for us, which kept us warm. Definitely recommend.

The road to the property is very rough. But it is doable by normal car.

Very luxuriously appointed with more appliances and utensils you will need. Very quiet with no traffic and people. Had some of my best sleeps ever. The Wi-Fi was good enough for me to get some work done and watch YouTube. Electricity is supplied off-grid from 7am to 11 pm. No loadshedding like the rest of the Republic. The view is excellent and with the change in weather you keep on seeing new scenes. The Wild Dagga flowers next to the house attracts a lot of sugar birds which makes for amazing photo opportunities. There are some great hiking paths on the hill and even down to the dam which makes for a good day out.

The uninterrupted view of the berg with its gorgeous sunset and beautiful sunrise were definitely the favorite. But coupled with the spotless and, comfortable accommodation, together with the quietness of the surrounds made this destination a truly peaceful and delightful getaway.

The location is absolutely stunning and you can simply sit on the porch and watch the clouds changing over the mountains for ever. There are also several bakeries, restaurants, breweries and more within less than a 30 minute drive.

Nothing from the host or property perspective, the road to the property is quite bad, but its a small trade off for the location.

This property is amazing, has everything you need to be very comfortable, has views that people dream about, in fact paint about! If you ever just want to see the magnificance of our world, this is where you need to go. A great place for family time, reflection and peace. The hosts are caring, maintain their property to the highest standards and are willing to assist in any way that they can. We will definitely return.

A bit of a schlep to carry all your stuff down the walkway (up is even harder work) but then you feel you have earned your glass of wine!

The house is spacious, the kitchen well-appointed with lots of work space, bathrooms are clean and shower is piping hot. You can sit on the deck even when it's raining. The view is superb.
