The smallest room at the end of the lounge was small and lacked hanging space.

Hostess Jane was very accommodating. Any issues we had were sorted straight away. Lovely area to walk, go fishing, feed the horses and good braai possibilities.

The drive getting to the cottage was on gravel/stone. I would suggest using a ute/bakkie, however, you can access it with a normal vehicle. But absolutely no negative remarks about the cottage itself! It was an amazing stay.

Stunning views. The cottage was truly amazing, all the creature comforts one could ask for. A perfect get away from city life. A rustic set up that warmed our hearts as much as the firepit and fireplace did 😁

Silo Cottage is situated on THE most beautiful farm I have so far ever seen in Underberg! Every evening, my friends and I loved sitting under the stars around our fire pit! What a great feature! Warm and cosey cottage which well equipped. Absolutely stunning scenery! Lots of lovely easy walks especially for pensioners! It was while my parents were living in Underberg for some15 years that my heart and soul truly found where they really belonged! Having grown up in Umhlanga Rocks, it was always to the Drakensberg that I longed to be! The Drakensberg range of Underberg and especially Hodson's Peaks of Sani Pass are so majestic! As the American landscape photographer, Ansel Adams, once said: "No matter how sophisticated you may be, a large granite mountain cannot be denied - it speaks in silence to the very core of your being"! Enjoyed 'talking' to those lovely friendly polo ponies and Drought Master/Beef Master cattle! Loved the peace and tranquility on your beautiful farm! I cannot wait to visit your farm again!! The Views of the mountains from the patio and the Fire pit and also the newly installed indoor fireplace .The horses were so friendly we got to feed them and in the surroundings we found a gem of a swimming spot .We definitely going back in the Winter

Silo Cottage is in a beautiful location with lovely views of the Drakensberg. The house is spacious and has everything you need to enjoy a self catered stay near Underberg. Great spot to stay with friends or family.

The loft bedroom is a very novel idea, it only has chest of drawers though. Loft bedroom can get quite hot in summer but there was a nice free standing fan. The wood that was available to braai with is more suitable for a fireplace and was not great to make a outside fire with as the chunks were massive - rather source your own braai wood. The bottom grid of the Weber braai was burned through in the middle. No real hiking trail near the house for those seeking more challenging walks. We felt a bit stuck at times between the private properties. Could not find a hosepipe to clean the bulk of the dirt from the car.

Spacious house for a family get away. Easily accessible and not too far away from town. The main bedroom is very easily accessible being on the ground floor. Awesome views from two of the three bedrooms. Third rear facing bedroom is nice and cool in summer. The nearby river was in impressive flood when we visited and an easy walk from the house. Large en suite bathroom for main bedroom. The gravel road leading from the main tar road is well maintained and quite smooth. Old fashioned box TV is great to deterrent for TV addicts. Lovely patio furniture compliments the amazing views. Our small dog was accommodated, which was a big factor in us choosing this place. Convenient laundry area and comfortable kitchen. I liked the fact that the loft bedroom has an en suite toilet. Under cover parking was a bonus.

Everything exceeded our expectations. My son loved his time here. The outdoor fire pit and undercover verandah with a phenomenon view ticked al the boxes. This place is beyond expectation...the location, the cottage was very comfy m including the beds, families will love silo cottage, the amazing host, river and picnicking spot along side the river, animals around you, privacy and even witnessing a cow giving birth. An added bonus was the snow.the sani pass border is about a 20min drive. so many memories made!Thank you silo we will return:)

Postcard perfect setting and well appointed cottage. Access to the stream with a swing over the water was delightful. The host was very warm, welcoming and helpful.

Access was difficult in vehicle. We requested a baby cot, it was in a cupboard which we found eventually & would have expected it to be set up. Gas ran out & was replaced but heater starter must have been faulty as it didn’t work again. We had to request wood for the fire the second day. Heated under blanket didn’t work in the main bedroom
