The food was average, some meals better than others. One can tell that it is mass produced and kept warm, compared to made fresh per person, as it often arrived warm or cold. The room can be modernized easily, and the linen and towels refreshed as the towels were fraying etc. Additionally, the receptionists did not know what was good to do around the area, we had to figure out ourselves where to hike from and discovered The Chocolate Factory complex by driving past it, nor were we told about meal times etc.

The views are amazing from the property. It is within close proximity to Monks Cowl.

The dinner was good. One night only beef and pork was served . As Hindus probably a chicken or lamb roast could have been prepared .

TV did not work properly, but staff managed to sort it out. Took too long for warm water to reach he bathroom and taps leaked.

The room was clean and comfortable situated in a well-kept garden. Nice surroundings and a nice walk along the river. Enjoyed tea on veranda. staff was friendly and reacted promptly to requests for assistance.

Nice pool, accommodation good, lots of birds around rooms, lots for kids to do, looked after at dinner well. Nice bar and pool/ darts. My sun liked the table tennis. Food was good.

This old girl needs a new dress. We believe some of the rooms had been revamped and given we got a deal we weren't expecting the best room but the absence of block out curtains or even curtains that closed the whole way detracted from the overall feel. The room was comfortable but really had seen better days and was in serious need of updating. Reception staff tried to be helpful but weren't well informed. For instance reception knew nothing about the beautiful trails available for walks and runs on the property. Some effort could be made to educate staff so that they can be more helpful around the amenities available both on the property and close to the hotel.

The hotel offered a traditional Berg hotel experience including Breakfast, 4 course plated dinner and morning and afternoon tea. It was the holiday season, so activities and entertainment where offered and the staff, particularly Vincent, our waiter during our stay, where amazing. the views from the hotel are exceptional and this is a really special part of the Berg.

Nothing to not like.

The rooms are cosy and clean. Beds very comfortable. Rooms are nice and cool for the summer. Serviced daily. There is a TV with satellite but we didn't watch. Breakfasts are generous and very tasty. Dinner was 4 courses and very tasty, meals always hot and service brilliant. Our waiter, Vincent, was professionally friendly. Will absolutely return. Views from verrandah were exquisite. Very central to Monks Cowl hikes, cheese shop, chocolate tasting & brewery and the amazing Valley bakery with the best pizza ever.

They First day did not like rondo rooms. They were kind enough for our next day to upgrade.

Place needs a revamp as it is run down. Rooms not the cleanest. Need to take your own volleyball and tennis balls as resort didn’t have any/sufficient. WiFi was non-existent

They didn't provide hot milk for the tea. As an advice it wud be great to have both hot and cold milk when tea is served.

The Nest had a special daily program for the kids and this kept them busy and entertained. Zanele went out of her way to make the kids happy. Thank you so much Zanele. I also loved the special new year's eve dinner. This was beautiful, and the after party and crossing into 2024 with all the other guests was so splendid. My sister and I loved it.

The special Christmas meal was advertised as 1pm to 3pm but most of the guests had turned up at 1pm so when we arrived after 2pm much of the food was cold

The staff were very attentive for all our meals. The bowls was a bonus that we had not expected!

The general maintenance is lacking! A couple of deck chairs required basic maintenance which I reported to the lady at reception. Two days later nothing had been done.

There was nothing not to like.

The hotel was easy to travel to. The staff friendly and helpful. Meals served on time. The owner greeted us daily. The hotel itself has plenty of activities for everyone.
