A little gem in the bush! Perfect for our little family.

I felt the activities were a tad overpriced considering you had to bring your own drinks and snacks along, a tea or coffee on the morning boat cruise would add extra value to the experience. The boat motor kept cutting out on the boat we were on, diminishing the experience and making things a little stressful.

The cottage was clean, stocked with firewood, and had everything we needed for cooking, the staff take a great deal of care in keeping the property neat. We were also left alone for the duration of our stay to enjoy the tranquility of the bush which was great.

Wonderful location. Numerous activities available. Game viewing by boat is a unique experience. Managed to catch 4 Tiger Fish in a mornings fishing as well.

Great place to stay in. All facilities needed are available and the staff is amazing and very helpful. Good load shedding facilities and the hot tub is amazing. Absolutely worth the trip

The only complaint about the cottage was an extremely noisy fridge. Normally you go to the bush to listen to the birds and the animals but here you could only hear the fridge. Although the lodge is called White Elephant, don't expect to see any elephants on the reserve as they have gone into deep forests on the hills on the other side of the lake.

We booked the self catering Umkhaya cottage which is perfect for either a family or even 2 couples. It is tastefully decorated and has everything you could possibly need. There is unfortunately not much of a view there, but the fire heated hot tub is fun. If you want the lake view I recommend taking a glamping tent. In order to forget about everything, you must do a leisurely river cruise. We also did black rhino tracking with Suzette who has been studying the creatures for quite some time and knows how to find them even though they are one of the most elusive animals. A highlight was seeing 3 baby genets sleeping under a blanket at the main lodge.

Despite applying insect repellent, my legs got heavily bitten by some bugs, probably small mosquitoes. I never saw them by they chowed my legs when sitting outside at night. The poor park was very dry - which management cannot do much about!

The boat cruise on the lake was very good. Saw hippos, crocodiles, fish eagles, rhinos and hundreds of birds.

The downside was lots of mud when it rained, but the paths between the chalets and living area mostly kept us clean.

We loved being so close to nature! The staff were helpful and friendly.

The only regret is that we couldn't stay here for longer. Love this place.

Pool was a little green but we still used it on our first hot day. It’s a pity the self drives in the reserves aren’t allowed - unless you book activities every day, you are confined to the camp...

We booked out the bush camp, and loved that we had our individual rooms, with perfect common areas for socializing with the family. Especially loved the fire boma! Staff were great and we loved that we didn’t need to clean a single dish.

There is nothing to do on the property but relax. no fishing besides a booked trip at a price. Our main reason for staying here was because we thought we could fish on the property - but no fishing. We had to go out of the property to another Municipal place to fish. We also were not aware that there was a fishing competition over two days so there was no boats available to hire/rent to go out fishing onto the river or dam. in excess of 1000 boats on the river we were told! The camp site had a group of unruly guests - drunken parties and very loud music three nights and days in a row just continously :( - seems like they booked the entire camp site next to the cottage. i would have loved to stay longer just for the peaceful environment minus those guests - nothing to do on the property besides a game drive at ZAR 500 per person - perhaps a TV would have kept us entertained with nothing else to do and NO wifi - you have to have roaming data with Swaziland - and it costs a small fortune

we loved the cottage we stayed in - fully fitted kitchen and clean. Cleaning services available everyday and lovely willing staff - although we did not to use them, they came and greeted and checked on us daily. The camp site needed them more with those unruly guests! i would have loved to stay longer just for the peaceful environment and the wild life and wild animals - minus those guests.

The website showed the lodge with a swimming pool, numerous chalets and on the edge of the dam. Facilities included WiFi in public areas. The cottage we booked was however 3km from the lodge which was not explained on the site . Even the pin drop received was for the lodge and the cell number given did not pick up so we struggled to find the cottage which was a problem when towing a boat on the dirt roads.

The cottage was clean and well stocked for an awesome Bush experience. Firewood was provided daily and the ambience at night was awesome. There was a double door fridge and nice view of the mountains.
