Traditional Alentejo architecture. Very well equipped and comfortable.
A rather unusual place to stay. The interior is decorated with various historical elements and is very rich in detail, but it also had all the modern conveniences. The room was particularly large. Breakfast was very good with the host's comments and friendly conversations. Parking right outside the building.
Traditional Alentejo decoration/being an historical building. Friendly, helpful staff. Very clean. Great location.
A nice hotel. My room was above a courtyard with lots of pot plants and palms. It was clean, large enough and the bed was good with nice bedding. I had a good night's rest. The receptionist/cleaner/general factotum was great - he couldn't have been more friendly and helpful.
Charming house, with beautifully and individually decorated rooms. Very welcoming owners. Superb breakfast beautifully presented to each table. Stunning garden courtyard terrace.
A remarkable traditional mansion with beautiful staircase, majestic rooms and a nice courtyard. The room was spacious with amazingly big windows. We highly recommend.
This is a charming traditional guest house, run by a charming Beja family. Our room looked out on to a quiet street, which led us to all the nearby sights and amenities, and we had the most fantastic bathroom - huge and sparkling new. There is a wonderful small shaded courtyard, with 100 year old orange and lemon trees. Beja is a lovely city, not too touristy, and we wished we had arranged to stay longer - and we'd have been very happy to stay longer at Hospedaria Santa Maria.
Idyllic historical property with modern rooms. The traditional room furnishing were in keeping with the old buildings which house the restaurant and bar.
The location was great, right in the centre of the city and within walking distance of cafés and historical sites. The building was nice and the decor was very traditional. The bed was soft and the room had a nice-sized bathroom, TV and an AC.
Lovely traditional house in the historical part of town. We were welcomed by our host who brought us some freshly squeezed orange juice on arrival. We were then shown to our wonderful room complete with balcony and homemade chocolate cake. The house has communal living room space, kitchen and outdoor areas for relaxing. Complimentary water, beer and local liqueurs were also available. The property was spotlessly clean and well maintained. Breakfast was amazing and was so filling I had to skip lunch. A+++++ for Casa Do Ardo and their team.
