We were not aware that Casa das Obras was a 250 year old manor house. It has been sympathetically renovated with beautiful rooms, all with ensuite bathrooms. It has impressive reception areas, and multiple cosy rooms for relaxing. It was centrally heated and spotlessly clean. A magnificent buffet breakfast was included. For warmer weather it has a lovely garden with a swimming pool. The host was on site to greet us, and available throughout our stay for anything we required. We would not hesitate to stay again.

When only we arrived, I was thinking - "gosh, I have given 10 points on booking for places far less special than this. What should I give them - 12, 20 or what?". It is really a very special, cozy, well-kept and loved place. We were visiting out of season, so it seems ours was the only occupied cottage. Such serenity, peace, fresh air. The territory is spacious, our cottage was so nicely equipped, nicely smelling. Each detail is well planned and taken care of. Breakfast is great, coffee (and coffee machine) is nice. All the people working here - super friendly and warm. We also lit fire in the fireplace each evening - that's so cozy & great. Also there’s a lot of prepared information about the area (where to eat, what to see) in the room. Most of it in EN, which is very practical for someone visiting region for the first time (such as ourselves). It’s one of those places where you want to come back.

The property features a bar, where refreshing drinks are served, where guests can enjoy their drink or just relax in the sofas and watch TV. Located centrally near everything to see. A very nicely preserved building and decorated well to the period of its time. The owner greeted us personally and explained all the details of the building. Parking is available.
