Staff members are nice, very professional and speak English, same for the owner. I highly recommend to have dinner there, it was delicious. Location is great, around 5 minutes from the main attractions of kusatsu. I would definitely stay there again.

A wooden building stemming from 100 years ago, the property breathes a historical atmosphere. Dinner and breakfast were seasonal and delicious. The baths were wonderful, the outdoor bath even more so in the snow. Sitting in the iconic main bath, one can only feel connected to the history of the onsen and ryokan.

The air-conditioned rooms have tatami (woven-straw) floors and Japanese futon bedding. A flat-screen TV, a fridge and an electric kettle with green tea bags are included in each. The en suite bathroom comes with a hairdryer. Staffs are very nice, friendly, and very service-minded. I lost my ring in the onsen and the next morning, when asked about it, they are able to return it to me.
