The ryokan is located in a geothermal area, with a number of hot springs nearby for guests to relax in. Had to check in early which wasn't a problem. The two staff were great - they speak English quite well, and were very patient with our very poor Japanese. Dinner + Breakfast is really good (but you do need to let them know you would like to have dinner when you are making your booking).

The units include a tatami. Extremely friendly staff. Great attention to detail. And the food is amazing (by far the best we have had in Japan).

Residence Yasushi features free WiFi throughout the property and views of mountain in Nozawa Onsen. 2.8 km from Lake Hokuryuko, the property provides a ski pass sales point, as well as a shared lounge. Staff on site can arrange airport transfers upon prior request.

Hot spring bath is available for private use. Guests at the accommodation will be able to enjoy activities in and around Nozawa Onsen, like skiing, hiking and snowshoeing. This was our most enjoyable stay in Japan, and the competition was high. Location was good, the staff were very helpful and welcoming, the property was immaculate, and the facilities were impressive. The room was incredible and super cozy and we loved retiring there at the end of the day. We also thoroughly enjoyed the onsen which I understand is one of the few in a Nozawaonsen Ryokan filled with naturally heated mineral water. We highly recommend and will be returning, hopefully.

There is no Onsen・Bath in 渋温泉小石屋旅館, however, staying guests at 渋温泉小石屋旅館 can enjoy 9 public baths in Shibu onsen(free). There are 2 shower rooms in 渋温泉小石屋旅館. It's a traditional style Japanese ryokan. The room was very clean and with a good space. The hotel provides towels, yukatas and traditional sandals which can be used to tour the onsens in the village. Overall good fun. There is a cafe/restaurant in-house (the longest opening hours in the village). The staff were really helpful and friendly - providing free shuttle services to station, other onsens in the area, and snow monkeys park.

Boasting open-air hot spring baths, a heated indoor pool and beautiful Japanese gardens, Senjukaku offers traditional Japanese-style accommodation that has a historic charm. Jigokudani Snow Monkey Park is a 15-minute drive away. My husband and I spent a night here to experience Japanese onsen for the first time and see snow monkeys in the area. We went with a traditional Japanese style room option and had no regrets. The room was fantastic. Saying spacious would be an understatement. Very large living area, separate sit down area and balcony with beautiful view. The large entryway, washroom, separate shower with bath and separate powder room. The room has AC and we were very warm despite the snowstorm outside. We had the means to make tea in the room with a beautiful tea set and there was a coffee bar downstairs. The room also had a TV. For both meals we went with the Japanese options and the staff was very helpful and accommodating to help us and explain every dish. There was even a small guide included with each meal outlining what is being served for each course. The facilities were outstanding as well. We opted for a private onsen and it was simply magical with the snow outside. There is a swimming pool as well that my husband used. If you forgot your swimwear you could get one there for a small fee. There is a small gift shop downstairs (they accept the cards as a payment option) with local sweets and small souvenirs. The fact that you got collected from the train station with a minibus and dropped off after your stay was extremely convenient as well and we didn't need to take the local bus. We were very close to the snow monkey park. We had a fantastic stay and we couldn't ask for a better experience.

The spacious rooms at Fuki no Mori Hotel come with private bathrooms with free toiletries. All rooms have traditional decors, a seating area and a balcony with views. Most rooms have tatami (woven-straw) flooring with futon bedding. Just one word to describe our stay: PHENOMENAL! The staff, the room, the hotel, its location, their onsens, the food. Everything was perfect and beyond our imagination! Our room was so big and comfy and clean, we even had a massage chair and also hot-air syringe. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They also had one person who could speak English pretty well. It was raining when we arrived and this went perfect with the hot onsens. We also booked the private onsen beforehand, but I personally liked the outdoor onsen more. You also have your own dining room with traditional Japanese food. The dinner has a very economic price for what you get (a seven-course menu). They also took into account that we are pescetarian. You also have the opportunity to use their shuttle service, which was very punctual and convenient. My husband was fasting, so he had to have his breakfast before sunrise. They even brought his breakfast to the room!

Bright rooms come with a traditional decor of tatami (woven-straw) floor, a low table with seating cushions and traditional futon bedding. They are fitted with a seating area, an LCD TV and a fridge. A safe and yukata robes are provided. A true ryokan experience with an exceptional food service. This heritage building is well-kept, dignified, and an absolute delight. There was no need to leave the building to have a satisfying bath—indoor or outdoor. I loved the private bath, and the overall tradition of the ryokan. The staff was so accommodating of our late check-in, took care to deliver our luggage to the station while we go to the Snow Monkey Park, and were attentive to our needs.

Bathroom is shared with other guests. Truly charmig athmosphere and accomodating service. It was a joy to stay there!

The air-conditioned rooms feature tatami (woven-straw) floors and Japanese futon bedding. Each room comes with a TV, a fridge and an electric kettle with green tea bags. Japanese Yukata robes are provided and guests can enjoy views of the river or of the traditional stone-paved streets. Bathrooms and toilets are shared. The place is charming, the host and his family are the kindest and will go out of their way to please you and help with your requests. The rooms are spacious and very traditional. There are two Onsen, both super relaxing and very well taken care of. Finally, the breakfast was delicious!

They come with traditional futon bedding and yukata robes, while bathroom facilities are shared. The location was excellent, close to the free shuttle bus pick up point to Nagasaka and a mere 6 min walk from the Shinden bus stop. The owner was super helpful and kind, going out of his way to help ensure that my stay was great. He offered a ride from the Shinden bus stop on arrival, and constantly checked on whether I needed anything else. He also readily provided information of the area, and provided guidance of where to eat around the hotel. The room was really clean and comfortable, and it was a really big room. A different snack is given daily too. Overall it was an excellent stay, and I would be happy to return again, if I can get a booking.
