A wonderful experience: the view from the camera and the onsen seems to a paint; the room service was accurate, detailed and awesome. The nicest staff I've ever seen (we annoyed the staff with a lot of requests and they satisfied all of them). Combination of boutique hotel and ryokan, very comfortable stay in traditional Japanese room, lovely Onsen, delicious Japanese breakfast and wonderful staff. Great location near station, walk to old town and many restaurants, especially Sakurajaya ( 15 mins walk). Recommend booking for a wonderful meal that chef Hiroshi will create for you (see Lonely Planet review).
The hotel staff was very helpful and even bow when you walk past the staffs. There was 2 microbus per hour from the Takayama station to hotel. (5 minutes). The room (Japanese style room with tatami) was big enough for 2 people stay and very quiet. There was 2 onsens. A big one on the 1st floor and a smaller one in the basement. The breakfast had plenty of food, buffet style and you can choose to have western/Japanese meals.
Stunning place between the mountains with natural hot springs. The hotel has secluded rooms with private pools with a wonderful view of the forest and garden. Spacious rooms with tatami mats, where they served us dinner and breakfast. The dinner was definitely a great experience and totally worth the money. The same goes for breakfast. Stuff was extremely attentive and really kind. Our biggest regret is that we have booked only one night.
A beautiful family-run ryokan. The room and location were ideal, the food was amazing, and the private onsen made it extra special. You absolutely must visit!!
We really liked this Ryokan, the stadd it's 10/10, they're super friendly. The room and all the Ryokan amenities were very comfortable, the room was quite big/ We love that they have public and private Onsen, and we also like that it's in a very quiet location. I can totally recommend and I would stay again here if I could. :)
This was probably one of the best experiences I had in Japan. The owner made us feel welcome to the Ryokan. She prepared the private onsen for us. Everything was extremely clean. The breakfast was amazing.
It is a beautiful traditional Japanese house (tatami mats, futon beds and paper sliding doors) with modern amenities such as AC, a modern kitchen and toilet/laundry facilities. It's an easy walk to both the train station and Takayama's old town.
Traditional Japanese Ryokan with nicely decorated rooms. This was my first Ryokan experience and I have never felt as well cared for as during my stay there. Futon was very comfortable, too (I have never slept on one before). Staff is very attentive and helpful. Great inhouse onsens. Yukata were available for free for guests. Many ammendities were available for free and I loved their shampoo. Takayama old city center is just a 15 min walk away. Takayama station is just 6 min away by foot.
Beautiful yet remote ryokan. It has a real authentic Japanese feeling complete with tatami floors, futon beds and (private and public) onsen. Highly recommend the kaiseki add-on, it was delicious!! Very spacious room with private bathroom and outside onsen. We had a wonderful stay!
Beautiful Japanese Inn! The room was spacious, and the futon was comfy enough to asleep. Free drinks available downstairs and for the breakfast. Onsen was small but well maintained. This Ryokan is old but the shower room and toilet were all renovated and super clean. Staffs are very kind!
