The location of the hotel was perfect. It was right in the center of town, close to lots of really good restaurants, shops, places to do yoga, and the beach (we went to playa Carmen). Note the property is up a steep mountain and requires an ATV or car to get up (you can’t walk up easily at all). We rented an ATV for the duration of our stay and it was fun and necessary. It’s actually the best way to get around town. The hotel has a great view of the ocean and you can see the sunset every night from your balcony. The staff is friendly and accommodating and you can reach them through WhatsApp for whatever you need. The room was a good size and surprisingly had a full kitchen. The shower had good pressure. The AC unit was strong and very necessary because Santa Theresa gets very hot. There is a television in the room that has Netflix and there is free WiFi.
Overall we had a great, easy, safe, and clean stay. It is important to us to feel clean and cool after a full day out and about at the beach.

Americanized beach town. Crowded waters to surf.
Americanized beach town. Crowded waters to surf. Really bad infrastructure, roads are bad, no sidewalks and caos in traffic.
The beach itself is very beautiful and the waves are nice. Just the vibe is either you love it or you hate it.

Santa Teresa for us was a completely disastrous in terms of development. I cannot even imagine anyone wanting to live there. The scenery once you get beyond the mishmash of stores 3 centimeters from the really poor roads is wonderful. It is a surfer place and nothing more. I would not ever go back for any reason

Santa Teresa has the most beautiful beach.
Santa Teresa has the most beautiful beach. There are so many places to eat that have great food. Santa Teresa does not feel as crowded as some other beaches in Costa Rica, and I honestly feel very safe there. I would highly recommmend this place.

The property is amazing.
The property is amazing. The pool is super cute, the rooms are spacious and modern.
BUT the Beach Club/Restaurant charged us for things we didn’t order. We will always pay for everything we eat and drink but when things are added on our bills that we didn’t consume, we regretfully are super bitter. The hotel is looking into it and said they will get back to us. They have t yet.
Also, they advocate that they are an adult only hotel but there were kids at the restaurant and at pool.

Wooden shacks with corrugated metal roofs along a dusty dirt road. Restaurants use camping-style kitchens and where they get their groceries with absolutely no decent food market within at least two hours driving is their secret. There is absolutely no sewage system anywhere. Everyone just has a whole in the ground they call ‘septic system’. Just steps from the beach !! Would be interesting to have the water quality tested..

Lovely.
Lovely. Beautiful beach with soft sand, wonderful sunsets, great waves, a lot of nature.
A bit too many people (lots of surfers) and cars in some parts, but great offer in terms of cafes, restaurants, yoga and surf lessons.

We had an amazing stay at Villas Solar and would have loved to stay even longer but it was full. The location is exceptional, it is in the center of Santa Teresa, close to all the best restaurants, shops and beach access. The villa is spacious, quiet and equipped with everything you need! The host Greg is great! He gave us amazing recommendations for surfing, yoga (he even joined us for a class!) and set us up with the taxi from Tambor airport. We can't wait for our next visit!
Our stay at the Coco Bungo surpassed all expectations. Just a few steps from the most beautiful beach in Santa Teresa the bungalow has meticulously designed interiors, where every detail was impeccable. The amenities provided were top-notch, ensuring a luxurious and comfortable stay. The host's hospitality was exceptional, making us feel welcomed and cared for. Without a doubt, this rental is a hidden gem, and we can't wait to return for another unforgettable experience.
We really liked the location of the accomodation, its been close to the supermarket, beach, surf school, all the nice restaurants and coffee shops etc. Its easy to walk to all the directions of Santa Teresa. The shower water was warm which is quite rare in cheaper hostels in Costa Rica, so we appreciated it. Also the cleaning ladies come every day to do a basic cleaning which is also nice. The patio with a lot of seating and palms and a small garden is very pleasant.
The location was great (across the street from path to beach), nice garden with pool, functional kitchen with good hanging area, hammocks to hang in and own patio. The room had great AC and was very comfortable. Grocery store is a quick walk. Surf shop attached to hotel and has fine boards. As a 30 year old traveler I really appreciated the comforts and privacy this place provided but the community feel from a hostel. Would recommend this spot to anyone!
We had such a lovely one week stay at Lucero, where we stayed in the secluded jungle apartment. It was super quiet, stylish, clean, great breakfast, nice pool area, perfect location nearby lots of restaurants and grocery store + close to the beach and surf! We got extremely well taken care of by the lovely concierge Gala, who did everything in her power to make sure our stay was excellent. Can truly recommend this place for anyone visiting Santa Teresa!
We really enjoyed to stay at Bajo el Arbol. The garden is beautiful, we loved to spend time there, and the breakfast.
The rooms are quite basic, but they have everything you need and were cleaned daily. We also had a small kitchen to prepare our meals.
Mauro and Julio are very friendly guests, they shared lot of tips about Santa Teresa and surroundings.
The location also is optimal, only 2 mins walk from Carmen beach.
Our stay in Almendros was fabulous. The location is perfect just the north part of Santa Teresa right on the beach. Perfect for surfing and there are some tide pools right in front for chilling and swimming. Right next door you have Rocamar , is a restaurant on tge beach, perfect to watch the sunset. Looking forward to be back
Great location (3min to the beach by foot, many restaurants around and supermarket not far), great surfspot at Santa Teresa. The tents are really nice and the bed comfortable. You also have a cabinet, which you can lock, to put your valuable stuffs. The kitchen is well equipped and clean. Awesome vibes!!!
Good location, nice serviceminded staff, comfortable bed, safetybox and a cozy breakfast area. It is quiet at night, so you sleep very well.
I recommend this hotel if you want a nice comfortable stay in the centre of Santa Teresa. It is close to the beach, restaurants and coffee shops.
the property is beautiful. views are amazing! the host was great. the only drawback is the driveway. long and very steep. we found it a bit scary in our small rental car-ended up only walking while we we in Santa Teresa, which was not popular for our teenage children.
The best place in Santa Teresa! Great value for money, bog rooms, amazing view from each room. Very good location, close to the surfers beach.
I didn’t feel so good and the stuff were so nice and they helped us in everything we needed!
I highly recommend on this place!
The decor was very nice, the beds were comfortable and the breakfast was plentiful.
Nice experience to stay up in the jungle of Santa Teresa.
Manager did compensate our family with a free night’s stay considering all the issues we had.
This hotel is 5 minute walk from beach and from town. Very convenient. Good AC. Simple but filling breakfast. Nice pool. Kitchenette was useful. Surf boards for rent were in good shape and cheaper than renting in town. Soft towels.
Perfect location in Santa Teresa beach, size, kitchen amenities, air conditioning, cleanliness, manager responsiveness - this place was absolutely perfect! We stayed for a week and thought about extending our stay the whole time!
Really liked everything. Staff, room, AC even if only using it for a few hours, cleanliness, location (so close to the beach!), super quiet, very relaxed and calm environment which is rare in Santa Teresa.
We had a great stay.
The Place is nice and close to the Beach where you can surf.
The Hosts are very friendly and take care.
All in all the perfect Place to stay when in Santa Teresa :)
