The food was ohk but there was a coloured lady with glasses she did not say anything to me but the way she was looking at me made me felt uncomfortable,its like in a way she was saying finish an get out of there. Her facial appearance was not welcoming. I did not even finish my breakfast nor enjoy it because she did this twice in a row.

Very nice, safe place on the river for a single person, couple or family staying overnight or a few nights. Child friendly. Has a few birds, bunnies, and cats outside and a nice lawn for kids to play on. Has a deck on the river for afternoon sundowners!

Upington on Sundays we were informed previously that...
Upington on Sundays we were informed previously that everywhere was closed and therefore no food available if you were not self catering. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived there to find a vere busy small commercial area consisting of restaurants, take aways and a supermarket catering for everything and open until 20.00h even on Sunday.There is lots of parking, lots of accommodation, town was quiet otherwise, and there is the mighty orange river running through which is of interest to visitors. If you plan to stay longer there are some cultural interests in the town and any shopping needs can be found therein on weekdays. It is a very hot town in the Kalahari desert region but with unusual vegetation. There is the Orange river wine producing farms where you can taste and buy if you are so inclined!

Upington is a very nice town along the Orange River.
Upington is a very nice town along the Orange River. There are some great places to eat and stay. Ideally you should have your own transport, as there are not a lot of public transport options, except for taxis. Places that I can recommend includes the Orange River wine tasting cellars, Red Ox restaurant, the donkey monument, Sakkie se Arkie (great for river cruises / sunset cruises) and Bi-Lo restaurant. the accomadation was fantastic

Very hot in January but I love summer so fine with that and our accommodation had aircon. Loads of restaurants and mall is good to visit. Visited the museum and ate at great restaurant called Red Ox situated on the Orange River. Food was phenomenal with large portions and the staff were great!

She picked me up from the bus early morning and I even got a small breakfast and early checkin. She took me t the mall and organized that I would be dropped off savely after the rivercruise. There are no ubers in Upington. The house is amazing. It has a beautiful garden at the river. Great view as well from the balcony. The place was spacieous and the bathroom too. It was such a treat to stay here after two weeks of camping! The rooms were very well decorated, clean, and comfortable. You can tell the hosts put a lot of work into giving this place a special charm and it certainly worked! We left the hotel very early every morning so the packs allowed us to keep to our schedule while still having a meal. The night porter was of great help on our last day and went out of his way to assist us. The hotel has generator so no issues with load shedding.
