This is a true, boutique hotel. Note: If you come with big, heavy luggage you may have Cinque Terre-type difficulties. However, this is the most prettily designed hotel I've ever stayed at, partly built into the rocks, with ultra modern style in the bedrooms. The breakfast deck is fabulous! Just for the record, they run a very popular fish restaurant in the main Piazza.
Albergo Barbara offers accommodation in Vernazza town centre, a few steps from the sea. Free WiFi is available throughout.

More than enough facilities, really well appointed to the extent that we could have forgotten pretty much anything and Barbara had it in her lovely, comfy appartment, just off the main square. Would recommend it to anyone!

Host was amazing. The location was brilliant and perfect. Clean, comfortable. Suprised to find it very well stocked with towels, toilet rolls, coffee and cakes!
Vernazza was overcrowded. The trains that accessed the town were horribly overpacked and at times the city streets were impassible. I hope that the tour groups that flooded the trains and streets will be limited in number in the future otherwise the quality of life in this beautiful village will be diminished,

Vernazza was a beautiful unique place to visit--so glad we were able to experience it! The hike from Vernazza to Monterosso was somewhat difficult because of so many steps but very worth it for the views. We would have liked to have taken the ferry back to Vernazza from Monterosso but it had not started running for the season yet, so we had to settle for the train. It's nice to have options!

We loved everything about Vernazza!
We loved everything about Vernazza! It is way more beautiful than I had pictured! It almost doesn't look real! The restaurants, food, drinks and dessert were all delicious! We hiked above the town and had breathtaking views! We were there in March so we had some rain upon arrival in the morning, but the sun came out on our hike and it was beautiful! We walked every where from the train station~ it was so easy to get around! The shops are darling and we bought several items! I would HIGHLY recommend visiting Cinque Terre!!!

We loved Vernazza.
We loved Vernazza. We enjoyed the views, the little harbor was beautiful.
The Tower views over looking the ocean and village was fantastic!
Our experiences in several restaurants were excellent. Plenty of shops for Souvenirs. Vernazza was also a great home base to visit the other villages of Cinque Terre. Our favorite Village.

City is beautiful with fine restaurants, but nearly impossible during the day when tour groups and day tourists overrun the town. Hiking was even difficult due to the number of persons on the trails. Trains between Cinque Terra towns were extremely crowded and unconfortable and station boarding platforms were shoulder to shoulder with passengers. We used the ferries instead of train if not in a hurry.
The location was on a side street in the middle of town. There are steps to climb to reach the Airbnb. In Cinque Terre you will be climbing stone steps everywhere in every town.
Staying here you really got the feel of Cinque Terre-the towns and the people.
Be sure to take a passeggiata and enjoy the happenings.
Ristorante Luca was delicious and fabulous and right near the water. Check out the shops and food stores. Every morning we had a cappuccino and marmellata coronetta(horn).
An elegant Italian rip-off in an amazing and unique location on the coast. The stay was during off-season, so there were less tourists there. The hotel was also running one (the only?) restaurant downtown open that served cheap Italian food - spaghetti Bolognese (almost 20 Euro) and a tin of Coca-Cola for almost 5 Euro. Conveniently, the staff forgot to credit us for also staying in their hotel (-10%). I wonder how much profit they generate in high season!
We spent two weeks travelling around Italy and this was definitely our favourite room. Not only was it absolutely spotless but it was beautifully decorated, comfy and the view from the balcony was stunning.
The staff are lovely and really helpful, we even got breakfast (which we hadn't paid for).
You don't really need a lot of time in Vernazza as there's not much going on but the room and staff made us want to stay for longer.
We didn’t want to leave. The views from the roof deck are fantastic; it is shared by two units, but there are two sections (town-side and sea-side) with furniture on both sides making it easier to share. Everything in the room was newer and in good condition. Federico was a great host, meeting us at the train station and providing a great orientation to Vernazza and the Cinque Terre.
Authentic Cinque Terre experience in a charming room perfectly located - near the train station and in the heart of Vernazza. The room and private bathroom were very clean. We also had a minifridge, a handy small table with shelves and a clothes rack. The host was welcoming and gave us helpful tips to explore Vernazza and its surrounding. Perfect for a short stay at Cinque Terre.
Excellent location! Steps from the train station and perfect for hopping around Cinque Terre. The apt is right on the main street, so you feel like you’re a part of everything but it’s quiet once you step inside. The balcony overlooking the street allows you to have the best of both worlds. While it isn’t glamorous, everything you need is within the apt for an easy home base.
The location near the train station, but very quiet, and situated on a running brook with outstanding hospitality made for a very enjoyable stay. We were met on arrival at the train station and escorted a short distance to the hotel. The rooms were excellent size and perfect for our two day stay. A short and easy walk to the Vernazza restaurant and retail area and port.
Amazing views and comfortable beds. The guidebook there and suggestions were very helpful. The welcome sparkling wine was a nice touch! And the kitchen was very handy. Included clothespins and laundry machine was excellent. There are about 15-20 stairs (no lift) on the street this accommodation is on in Vernazza, which adds to the character and the views!
Lovely spacious room right in the centre of Vernazza. A few steps to reach it, but not as many as most other accommodations in Vernazza. It's a town buit into a mountain.
The use of a full sized fridge was a bonus.
Our little dog was perfect there and eventhough there was no air conditioning, there was a fan and it was perfect in a very hot August.
Cannot stress enough how perfect the location is. It is incredibly positioned in the middle of vernazza - a short walk to the train station, right infront of a little cave, and a couple minutes from the beachfront. Being near the train is important when dealing with the hilly towns in Cinque Terre. The unit was also very clean and organized.
The hotel is really in the centre, close to the railway station and to the place where the shuttle from the parking area stops.
The room was basic but clean and the owner was very helpful in explaining how to move around Vernazza and the nearby locations.
Also close to the best places where to have breakfast and dinner in Vernazza!
if u are in cinque terre for hiking and sightseeing and your accommodation is primarily for sleeping then you cant go wrong with Santa Marta Rooms.
room was clean and it had everything what needed.
also the room is near train station and street wise on a flat ground. in cinque terre you will appreciate it.
The hotel is just off of the main street in Vernazza, super centrally located. The room I chose had a living area separate from the bedroom and bathroom which made the apartment feel super spacious and a few windows that you could open. There was a mini fridge and a coffee maker too.
The location in Vernazza being very central and easier in terms of the amount of stairs to climb which was less than others but still not negligible. If you have mobility issues then best to pass on Cinque Terre entirely.
The location of this hotel is PERFECT!! Vernazza is a small village but very cozy. The hotel is right in front of the water. We have our bathroom outside but it was for our own use only, so that was good!
The views are amazing and the rooms are light and airy. You are only steps away from the harbor. Gian is a fantastic host. He provided guidance on the very best hikes in Cinque Terre. Enjoy the wine.
Vernazza is the best base to visit Cinque Terre. We were delighted to stay in this apartment for two nights as the base. The host is amiable and helpful.
