We mainly explored the old town and chilled near the beautiful lake. We also went for a hike nearby.
The old town has really nice restaurants. Ideally it's better to reserve before going for the restaurants to have Fondue/Raclette.
It's easy to get around Annecy by hiring a bike or taking the public bus. However one should be careful about the timings if you want to visit nearby places from Annecy. The buses are not so frequent.

The place is the perfect combination of nature and culture.
The place is the perfect combination of nature and culture. Compact and yet full of little surprises, Annecy is a charming French city that should be in every traveller’s bucket list. Plenty of excellent dining options, the majestic Alps before you, the Lake and the river around which the place weaves its spell. Late March, early April werent as packed with tourists as summer, so the pace is less harried. Prices, too, both for food and accommodation are very affordable. Three restaurants we tried : Cozna, Saba and Le Bouillon, all Michellin recommended - provided excellent food and service.

Beautiful old city.
Beautiful old city.
Gorgeous views of a pristine, clear lake.
Old town area was lovely and the Sunday market seemed really authentic.
Have a trip on the boat to admire the substantial houses dotted along the shoreline, enjoy an ice cream and take lots of pics.
There is a good bus service if you want to go further afield. We visited Talloires Montmin on the other side of the lake by car but I noticed it is on a bus route too.

Maximum charm in a small footprint: the Old Town is pedestrian-only, small streets that wind around and across the river, farmers markets, cutesy shops, plenty of cheese-y dinners... the place is a picture-postcard for France.

Not too much to do in the rainy weather.
Not too much to do in the rainy weather. Drinks are very expensive.
Great market in the old town 3 times per week. Lots of quirky little side streets and beautiful buildings within the city. Great to wander around.
Can walk parts of the lake or hire a bike. It’s beautiful even on rainy days
We were greeted by Thiabult, our host who kindly showed us around. The property is in a great location not far from Lake Annecy, and only a short distance from old town Annecy. A big bonus was the free bus which stopped right outside the apartment. We loved sitting on the balcony looking at the mountain.
We self catered a lot. The property had everything we needed to do this. It is walking distance to a supermarket.
The property is modern and clean. Plenty of space for four adults.
The hotel was in the perfect location in old Annecy, very close to the lake. we were walking distance from everything we wanted to see in the old city. The hotel had a delicious breakfast and had a nice aesthetic.
The staff were all extremely helpful, especially Thierry. He went above and beyond to help us make our stay comfortable. He even rescued us when we realized we had left a valuable item back in the room and helped us arrange to get it back.
From the incredibly accommodating hosts who went out of their way to ensure that we were comfortable to the amazing location just steps from Lake Annecy and all that the charming old town area has to offer, we couldn’t have been happier choosing to stay at Studio74! Each item offered seemed to be hand picked to be eco friendly and support local businesses, and as a bonus, even the shampoos and conditioners were sulfate and paraben free!
Auberge du Lyonnais Annecy is a gorgeous hotel located next to/inside the restaurant. The staff were so nice and welcoming! The room we had was a large size with a great window view of the Thiou. Very comfortable. Everything was walking distance. On Tuesday, we had the market open nearby. Don’t skip out on the breakfast. From the pastries to the plate, they were phenomenal. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it 100%.
We had a great stay in the Coeur vieille ville apartment, I went with my girlfriend and for 2 people it was perfect. The apartment is clean, well-equipped with everything you need for your stay and the location is excellent, you are in the center of the beautiful old town. We really enjoyed the beauty of Annecy and the surrounding area and this apartment was the perfect fit to do that, highly recommended.
This was a spacious 3 br apartment designed for students (no living room) but had comfortable beds and was located near the ring road in Annecy. It was a 15 to 20 minute walk to the old town. The bus stop is very close to the apartment. A weeklong bus pass for Annecy costs 16 euros. The apartment also has a washer, dryer and dish washer. There was plentiful free street parking near the apartment.
While we stayed only one night at the hotel it was a very pleasant experience starting from a friendly and accommodating receptionist to a very nice breakfast in a dining room area facing the garden. This small hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood within 10-15 min walking distance from the old town and offers free parking in a gated parking lot, which was extremely helpful.
The location, the wonderful, friendly staff and a comfortable bed. Location: behind the building, there is a lovely path (photo) perfect for a morning walk or jog with large trees and lush vegetation. The hotel is a short distance along the river to Annecy Old Town and also, not far from the train and bus station. There is a large public parking lot in front of the Ibis.
This is a comfortable modernised hotel in an older building close to the centre of the Old Town part of Annecy, so easy stroll to shops and restaurants. Undergorund parking available by reservation for a fee (think it was 15 euro per night?). Good wifi. Clean comfy beds. Very good buffet breakfast with all you could want, although expensive at 21 euro pp.
The location was excellent, being just a couple of minutes walk to the Old Town restaurants and shops. The bus station is only 10-15 mins walk. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the breakfast is a tasty range of cold buffet food. Reminded me of a ski chalet in the mountains. A pretty outside seating area was being set up as I left.
1. The location- it’s in the heart of the old town in Annecy
2. The character and authenticity- its interior is modernised but you know you are in an old building
3. Space- the main bedroom and bathroom are spacious. The living area works well.
4. Booking and response from agent/owner.
5. Nearby parking- good value and easy
Warm welcome and great communication from Stephane and Fabrice to their immaculate and lovely property. Location 2 minutes walk outside old town, easy secure parking and everything thought of in provisions and comfort. Extremely detailed information for things to do and places to eat in Annecy.
The hotel is a new build, is clean with small rooms but huge beds and good facilities. The location of this hotel is perfect for a quick walk to lake Annecy and only a few hundred meters more to the old town. There are loads of accessible shops, bars and restaurants within a ten minute radius.
The hotel is located in an area of Annecy that is convenient to access the area along the river. The hotel is spotlessly clean and tidy. There is parking at the hotel. Staff were great.
spacious room and spacious bathroom. we had a corner room with nice view of the city. good location with everything around you and easy access of Annecy old town. private parking garage
