I checked out earlier a day and had a loss of rent for the apartment charges of one day, paid earlier by me . Started for the next destination Milan earlier , Had to pay rent again in Milan for earlier checking in , for the property booked next day on bookings .com

Chamonix is a beautiful town with a pleasant atmosphere. We were here for the hockey tournament, but we also came to see Mont Blanc from the viewpoint on the A. du Midi. The views from there were breathtaking. We also saw the Mer de Glace glacier.

The month of May is not a good time to visit.
The month of May is not a good time to visit. The snow has gone but summer is not here yet. In this twilight zone between winter and summer it is just one of many tourist towns that is instantly forgettable. We regret we didn’t stay just across the border in Martigny which has so much culture that is completely lacking in Chamonix. The only visitors to this town seemed to be bucket-price tour groups from the far east.

I am slightly disabled in that my mobility is restricted by arthritis. Chamonix is a beautiful town in itself but it can be difficult to get around at night.I wanted to check out the live music scene but had real difficulty with transport.Although it is free,or cheap all day it is nearly impossible to get a taxi (unless I have been calling the wrong numbers!).I was told by some locals that they are tied up doing airport runs, how true this is I don't know. I think if you have similar problems then book a long time ahead or online.Otherwise the place is brilliant you have breathtaking views of the high mountains above,alpine meadows and a town that wants for nothing.It is easy to visit Les houches Argentiere and all the beautiful ski areas,even if you can't ski there are mountain railways and cable cars. Expensive but well with it. It is becoming my second home now.AAnonymous - 10Scored 10

A many time visitor, easy to get about on buses or train and some of the best off-piste there is anywhere. Looking forward to the re-opening of the top cable car so the biggest / best runs will be accessible once again. CMD make sure you don't go down the road Vial and Alterra have taken (selling season passes and driving up day tickets to drive sales of these products and thus maxing out their profits) - On vous voyons!!88roUnited Kingdom

The central bus station is right opposite the accommodation, very convenient to travel to near by villages and Geneva. I will give more than 5 stars for location. The view from the balcony is beautiful! Kitchen is well equipped , even has a dishwasher . Reception staff is very very helpful and friendly. Recently refurbished, it has everything you could ask for and is finished to a very high standard. Location is very convenient, right beside the bus station, about three minutes from the Telepherique Aiguille du Midi and 10 minutes from the centre. Restaurants and bars are fine minutes away. The Plan B hotel across the street (30 seconds) also has pool and bowling that is open to non-guests when you are looking for something to do. Go for it!JonathanIreland

The train station is next door, and using the train to get around the valley is very convenient. We went at the end of July, and Chamonix is absolutely beautiful during the summer months.
