This hotel is historic, and has a quirky interesting collection of vintage decor items throughout it. It has a very different feel to it (unlike a lot of bland hotels).. The owner is very helpful and friendly and has interesting conversations, and is kindly speaking english, due to my poor french. There is much to see in the historic centre of Laval, and the hotel is walking distance to most of that. The breakfast was very good.

TUCKED IN THE MEDIEVIAL PART OF THE TOWN - THE HOST'S DIRECTIONS WERE MOST HELPFUL.
THE TOWN WAS CLEAN AND TIDY, WITH A GOOD CHOICE OF BARS AND FOOD AVAILABLE, ON BOTH SIDES OF THE RIVER
PLENTY OF BUSES IF NOT WITH A CAR

An interesting. lively town with a noticeably high population of younger people/students. A must see is the chateau, I had free access to the venue to view the well presented art collection, I believe the content is changed on a regular basis. There are plenty of good restaurants and not just pizzas and burgers. There are boats available for hire on the river Mayenne but best to check prior to visit as they were not running when I visted in mid May.

What a great city.
What a great city. I wish I'd have been able to stay longer so that I could see more of it. I found everyone very kind and everyone I met went out of their way to help me (I don't speak French). The Saturday market is well worth attending if you can. Be sure to get there early so you have plenty of time to check out all the vendors. I look forward to my next visit to this beautiful city.

Very helpful staff especially as Booking.com let us down BADLY …
Booking .com tried to charge us a extra 14 euros MORE than the hotel room was booked and advertised for…..
I would highly recommend the hotel for being exactly what it says it is 👍

I think I have answered all the questions.
I think I have answered all the questions. Regarding the Auberge, but we were only passing through Laval en route back to the UK, so unfortunately we saw nothing of the town, maybe next time.
But to emphasise, very good location, easy to find.
Accommodation spacious and clean and not expensive.
Very good menu and food excellent, but as previously mentioned, a little expensive, but I know food is expensive in France. Service good and as we have minimal French language, it was useful and helpful that the staff spoke English, especially the young girl who served us our evening meal.
Main dining room very pleasant, with an an out door area where it is very nice to have drink and for smokers to have a cigarette.

Laval is offers plenty of restaurants and bars.
Laval is offers plenty of restaurants and bars. There is an enormous amount of shops and a good market there on a Saturday. Parking is easy and for a limited time of stay, it can be free. Well worth a visit
Great large self contained room with TV and private bathroom separated and sound isolated by a entrance hall with good hanging/storage facility for clothes etc. Second door of the appartment leads to a communal good sized sitting room and fully equipped kitchen shared with occupants of a couple of other rooms. Very central location for visiting Laval including it’s old town. Under ten minute easy walk to/from the station.
An amazing historic building. Beautiful views across Laval. Pretty garden. The bedlinen was crisp soft and cool, bed comfortable.
The interior of the property was decorated tastefully combining the classic and modern feel. I felt very privilege to have stayed here, and would return. Breakfast was freshly laid out to enjoy. We were allowed to check in earlier than we had first stated which was a bonus to settle in.
Beautiful room with Leonardo Da Vinci theme. Close to the center by walking distance and 5 mins away from the big supermarket. Free Parking in front of the hotel was always available. Comfy bed and it was really clean! Also really modern and tablet controlled heating and all info in French.
Smart and comfortable above average chain hotel s short stroll from centre - nice features like the hay bale bedside table. Wide choice at breakfast. In town, beer lovers shouldn’t miss the incredible choice at the bustling Black Bear under the castle. An enjoyable stop.
The hotel is well located, with a very good restaurant next door and the train station is just ten minutes walk away. The staff were all friendly and attentive. It was good that the hotel has its own parking area.
Nice hotel to stay for 1-2 nights, there is parking, there are many restaurants and cafes nearby, a supermarket. There is breakfast, delicious pastries, cheese, juice, coffee, scrambled eggs. Clean room
Hotel is situated close to the train station and some shops (including a supermarket). Our room was compact but had everything we needed. The Hotel reception areas and our room were clean and tidy.
The apartment was clean and spacious and well located to walk into LAVAL. The Park located near the rear of the property was nice to walk through on our way to town.
