One of the most beautiful towns in the world! I wish I had stayed longer as it makes for an excellent base whilst day tripping all around the Riviera! After Covid closure, Nice is in decline.
After Covid closure, Nice is in decline. Many good restaurants have gone and are replaced by pubs with loud music. The overkill of american and british tourists specially in groups have a very negative influence on the atmosphere in the city. To avoid during summer season. Best go in spring or fall. Public transportation is good, take the bus or train direction Menton or Cannes. Plenty to do and visit.

We absolutely loved Nice we visited Eza which was a beautiful village to visit. So worth visiting to weave yr way around the old village and beautiful little shops. We also went to St. Tropez which was also grt to visit on the way we went to a village called Antibes so quaint where we watched the changing of the guards Some grt little shops and eateries. Well worth a visit. We did a private half day tour to Monaco with other scenic stops on the way. We stayed opposite the Mediterranean which had some beautiful eateries down on the beach. Hotel was well situated for exploring Nice - didn’t take too long to walk to the beach/centre/old town etc. would happily stay again if I’m ever back in Nice.
