Since the refurb it's looking amazing, love the feature wall and arty touches in the bathroom. Decor etc was great. Plenty on outlets for charging etc. Could tell spa bath a little bit older but still amazing for a hotel and great size. Bath salts a really nice touch. Also nice having proper shampoo, conditioner, body wash and moisturiser. Room service was really fast and polite, steak cooked well wasn't a massive fan of the slice of potato pave but great cook on the steak made up for it. Staff very warm and friendly which is the vibe you want after a long day of work and paying a bit extra for a nicer room etc.
Just a short walk away from Tahunanui Beach, The Beachcomber Hotel & Conference Centre offers free Wi-Fi and a solar-heated swimming pool. Nelson Airport is 3 km away.

I can recommend Pomeroy's Cafe.on the opposite side of the Square for their delicious matcha laites. Nelson's many art gallerys are enough to satisfy the most avid art lover with the delightful, meandering walk out through Queens Gardens to Nelson's Suter Art Gallery and cafe, always a highlight.

Nelson is a lovely town, with beautiful hanging baskets and old, unique architecture, close to Tahunanui beach, which is lovely. The Saturday market is great and wandering around Nelson town is fun, there are some good small specialty shops. I enjoyed the museum and the Suter Art Gallery and Queens Gardens. It is also a great base to visit both the Marlborough and the Tasman regions.

The Art and Crafts I saw were excellent.
The Art and Crafts I saw were excellent. The Suter Gallery was a highlight, and I enjoyed the Cathedral. I really enjoyed the walk up to "the centre of N.Z" and the views from there. I had some very good food and liked looking at the architecture - e.g the villas and transitional villas in The Brook. Founders Park and Miyazu Japanese Garden were great. Also, having a craft beer at "The Free House", a church that has been converted into a drinking place( and painted with fun colours) was wonderful.

Friendliness and facilities were so nice.We had a lovely balcony with table and chairs.Near the beach. The lady I Ispoke to on the phone requesting a bath also came to greet us and she remembered me from our phone call and said enjoy your bath you deserve it. She must have remembered when I spoke to her previously we were going to be tired as we had come from a month of entertaining friends and family. This got us off to a great start. Then we were so happy to see how lovely our unit was.A Wonderful stay
It was hard to leave the Chelsea Park Motor Lodge after a wonderful five-nights stay. The room was spacious, cosy and clean. The shower was great and the bed was comfortable. Dean and Tomoko, the host and hostess, were warm and hospitable. They treated us like family. They are very knowledgeable about local events and neighborhood walking paths. We will definitely stay with them when we visit Nelson again. PS. Free bicycles are provided for your use.
Very convenient access to the airport. Despite its proximity to the runway, it is remarkably quiet. The rooms are open, clean, and spacious enough for four adults. My mother mentioned that it was more comfortable than any hotel she had stayed at in New Zealand, a sentiment I share. The accommodation features a two-induction cooktop and ample cooking utensils, making it suitable for simple cooking.
Management was most helpful, on arrival explaining what was available/where around town. Unit was well appointed, very comfortable. Laundry facilities available. Yes l would certainly recommend this motel for your next stay in Nelson.
As an ex travel agent, l have done dozens of hotel inspections, and this property certainly did not disappoint, it is very comfortable and value for money
I had two great nights at Honeysuckle house. The owner is very nice and friendly, the whole house just feels like home and the garden is wonderful. It takes approximately 15 min to Nelson centre and a hike to the monument of New Zealand starts behind the garden. Best thing, there are free muesli and tea/coffee for breakfast and free ice-cream:)
Thank you Rob for this wonderful stay!
Because I'm a bit disabled the shower set up was perfect for me. My son and I went to Nelson to visit unwell family members. Your hotel is perfectly placed, quiet, clean. We will stay in the Beachcomber next time we go to Nelson. We love Nelson. Would love to live there if we could.
Thank you and your nice staff. Diane Waugh & Stefan Pahl.
People staff very nice, helpful clear , Restaurant people.... happy 😁 ,speak clear , even spoke some te reo Maori . Will never forget my 1st ever time staying by myself. Please tell Oliva and Wiremu... My daughter smashed it at bball in Nelson and smashed it in Whanganui making thee rising stars.thank you for making this trip even better.
This is luxury! Brenda and Guy have created a beautiful space to enjoy away from the hustle and bustle of Nelson. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast provided was lovely. So many little things provided that made it feel so much more welcoming. The views are guaranteed and the alpacas were super cute. Highly recommend.
We really enjoyed the property gardens, outdoor seating areas, the attached pub and restaurant, and the paved walkways on the peninsula. The ambiance of the old English style was beautiful. We greatly appreciated the option to purchase a late check-out. We easily walked to the airport from the hotel with a rolling suitcase.
Clean tidy rooms plus the best thing was the restaurant and the great friendly staff in it. Restaurant staff treated guests like friends with professional service.
Rooms were refreshed everyday to a high standard too. Hotel us very handy to Nelson city plus to towns just if Nelson, like Richmond and Stoke.
The location of the property is spectacular at the very top of Ruby Bay with sweeping views of the Māpua region and beyond to Nelson. First class facilities within the property and very comfortable and relaxing areas both inside and out. A wonderful retreat from the rat race and an ideal place to unwind.
I honestly would've loved to stay there longer.
The front desk people really made things go nicely for my stay there. 10/10 for everything!
Being a local as well I've stayed at many hotels/motels here in Nelson and for my 1st time here I really do wished I came here sooner.
Paulina is amazing. Her place is a little gem, the room was super comfy, it‘s quiet but in walking distance to center of Nelson. shrubs happy to provide you with recommendations and other tips.
And the best of all: make sure not to miss out on her breakfast!!!
Fantastic breakfast, perfect location to Nelson city and a beautiful garden. The room connects to the main house, but you don't even notice as it feels as if it is it's own place. Great for exploring the local area. Appreciate their wealth of knowledge.
Mark and John were exceptionally hosts providing a real home away from home. They provided advice and services that made our stay very memorable and in a perfect location for visiting Nelson.
Hotel is close to the center of Nelson next to a park. Free parking is available on the quiet street in front of the hotel. Nice staff and everything in the room that you would need.
Great position- can go either into Nelson town or Richmond very easily. Great basic unit. Very obliging owners - gave us access to the shed to store our e bikes. 😊
