This is a very clean and spacious place to stay in Taupo, and very quiet at night (so good for sleeping). The spa is just wonderful - it has a fantastic pool and hot tub outdoors, and a sauna and steam room indoors. The staff were of the high quality you'd expect from the Hilton, just brilliant and so helpful. The bar was also a joy with big leather couches and a great drinks selection.
We also had dinner in the restaurant and the food was top quality with (again) great service from the staff who are so willing to help. I'd highly recommend this as a good value option if you do not need to stay in the heart of the town (it's a little bit of a drive from the centre).

Good selection of activities and a beautiful lake to swim in or take a boat ride. Many choices of restaurants and cafes serving up good tasty food. Lots of retail shops catering for clothing, souvenirs, charity shops, churches and a great library.

The local buses need to run later into the nighttime.
The local buses need to run later into the nighttime. Restaurant and Fast Food place sort of central in about 4 blocks. Huka Falls Jet and Rapid Jet need to consider a shuttle service from downtown Taupo because it is dare for a Uber ride and even darer for a Taxi. My favourite place to eat was Portofino Taupo, their service was exceptional.CameronNew Zealand - 10Scored 10

A fabulous place to stay and explore we did a cruise on Lake Taupo I highly recommend on the Ernest Kemp .We visited the Huka falls which was an amazing experience. Taupo is easy to get around walking or driving and there’s lots of great shopping. We ate at a waterfront restaurant “ Lone Star “which have specials at lunchtime ,steak was awesome. We enjoyed “ Lotus Thai” fabulous food , good service staff very friendly a great night . Lake Taupo is a must see experience 😁

Cosy and quiet place close to the town of Taupo (20 min by car) and very close to the lake itself (10 min walk). Hosts are a sweet couple, very well mannered and focused on being helpful without annoyances. Friendly chat was just accompaning a tremendous breakfast and started our day with a smile. The rooms are large, clean and for us anyway the added bonus of a washer/dryer. We made full use of that as we'd been traveling for a while. The motel is on a very quiet street only a minutes walk from stunning Lake Taupo. Super friendly owners, our only regret is we didn't stay longer.
