Luxembourg is underrated for many travelers. Luxembourg City is easily doable in one day, but the countryside offers so much more. We visited Echternach, Vianden, Esch-sur-sure and Beaufort, the mullerthal region, Remich and more over the course of 2 days and wish we could have had 1 more day to explore and hike.

Luxembourg was a great city, more beautiful than i expected.
Luxembourg was a great city, more beautiful than i expected. The old city was wonderful, a lot o things to see. The first day i thought i have seen everything, but i visited the next day, also a lot of other things that i havent seen. I will return again in Luembourg because i think i havent seen everything. I traveled with the train from Germany to Luxembourg. The prices were a little bit high but for the standard of living in Luxembourg maybe its ok. You can see everything walking on foot.

Anyone visiting the Low Countries is missing out if they skip Luxembourg. We went to The Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg and Luxembourg proved to be the most pleasantly surprising. It is a legitimate European destination. We highly recommend visiting!!

Luxembourg is the only country in the world that offers free trains, buses tramways (except for first class). But still there is some space and it is not crowded.
The way to the airport is short.
All leisure types are available (museums, parks,…)

The city is great, it's so varied with the park, historical buildings, that it's just fun to walk around. The casemates are interesting and there is a lot to see.
Would recommend anyone going into nature as well, I hiked part of the Mullerthal trail (second part), which was a bit tough, but absolutely stunning. It's in the Little Switzerland area and really deserves that name. A bus gets you there in about an hour, definitely worth it.

Luxembourg is a small, clean, safe, easy, beautiful city.
Luxembourg is a small, clean, safe, easy, beautiful city. I used the (free) tram like it was a hop on hop off bus. I did a city walking tour and an art tour. I had pre-booked a Petrusse casements tour in English.
The tourist office was helpful. They told me about the art tour which I had not seen online.
Fort Thungen is open Wednesday evenings. The National museum and City museum are open late on Thursdays. Villa Vauban is open until 9pm on Fridays.
Not much goes on for tourists in Luxembourg on Mondays. I spent two of my six days (Sun/Mon) in Trier where all of the Roman sites are open on Mondays. The train to Trier is six euros RT, 45 minutes away. WOW did I do a lot of walking between Trier's Roman sites. If I had a do-over I'd buy a Trier bus pass.
This is the biggest hostel I have ever stayed in - if you're used to small scale backpacking don't be surprised when you get here is it like a really large hotel catering to people and groups of all ages. The location is phenomenal, as is the city itself. You are staying beneath the UNESCO WHS and everything in the locality is stunning. The dorms are basic, there are no privacy curtains, but the view at the back of the hostel from the dorm rooms is lovely. This is the cheapest place to stay in Luxembourg.
Everything was great and the staff was very friendly too. The room was very spacious too, with plenty of daylight coming through. Location wise the hotel is not at the most central point, however, it is located at a beautiful historical place up the hill so the views around are gorgeous and the walk to the city centre is quite beautiful too. So would not be concerned about the location unless one really wants to be in city centre within minutes; it takes 20 mins to walk to city centre.
The location was absolutely excellent, i dont think you could be better located in Luxembourg. A short walk across the Bridge to the City Centre, a 5 minute walk to the Train Station and down the road, and you are in Grund. There is a lovely, newly opened tea shop across the road for great breakfasts. The TV was great, we watched Netflix and the wifi was very good. It was easy to find the keys on arrival, the instructions were clear.
I was surprised that the hotel only has 3 stars. It has the level of a 4 star hotel. The rooms are very clean. The shower is amazing. The best shower I ever had in a hotel. We had a coffee with croissant at the "boulangerie". Just perfect for us. Public transport is only 100m away and it takes you for free to the city centre. Underground parking available. Excellent restaurant.
Pool, breakfast, room were all good.
Location is great for a small place like Luxembourg city, it made no sense to stay at the centre of the city, we could enjoy a bit more of the landscape around the city staying at this hotel. Unfortunately it was raining a lot so we decided not to visit the forest right behind the hotel although the view from our room was amazing!
We booked a last minute getaway for our family of 6 and was able to get connecting rooms. The place was clean, staff was very courteous and great breakfast buffet included. Parking available onsite. Bus stop 100 ft from hotel and a 10-15 min ride to get to city center. Pool open with COVID guidelines. Free wifi. Easy check-in/out process.
private parking in a reasonable price and the swimming pool was amazing room are newly furnished and super clean the service 24 hour and they have a cigar lounge I love this hotel you don’t need to use your car or any transportation just walk to the city center directly amazing location
It's one of the closest hotels to the Luxembourg (city) train station, an easy 3-minute walk even with baggage. It's definitely a hotel for the car-free traveler. The bathroom and shower facilities were some of the best that I encountered on this trip.
Located in the best part of the city. The hotel was very clean and with so much charm. I had a pretty view of the town from my balcony.
The breakfast was truly first class and the dining area was actually more in a range of a 5 star hotel. STUNNING :-).
Friendly staff, free parking. Spa facilities were brilliant and much needed after a couple of days riding.
Tip..buses are free in Luxembourg and the number 4 takes you straight from the hotel to the city centre. Don't take a taxi as we found out.
I would rate this hotel 5 stars. The host was extremely hospitable, and the cleanliness of the rooms exceeded my expectations. Additionally, the hotel's central location made it convenient for exploring the city. Highly recommended!
The Melia is much quieter than staying down in the city center. The LuxExpo tram passes right by, so you are still very close to everything. Beautiful view over the city.
The hotel restaurant is excellent.
Location is good, right next to the central station. Staff was very helpful and accommodating
Room wasn't big but was very clean and bed was quite comfy.
Good hotel to stay in after day out in the city
Very close to the airport, so easy to check-in and checkout and just walk to/from the airport.
20min to city center and Transport in Luxembourg is free so very easy. Bus at the door of the hotel
Location, close to the main train station and some stores. Best hotel in that area. The afternoon front desk receptionist was very nice showing me places to go look in the city.
It's 10 minutes walk from the city center. It's located in a quiet place (compares to the hotels in the city center that can get very noisy because it's too close to bars).
The property is a simple short bus ride from the city centre with the bus stop right outside the hotel, and the price is good compared to other local properties
