The capital of Lower Saxony, beautiful Hanover has been so thoughtfully planned that you can’t tell it was largely destroyed in World War II. The city is full of green spaces, one of which is by huge Maschsee lake where sailors and rowers share the waters with pedaloes. In winter you may be able to skate there. A smaller lake in the Maschpark closer to the centre reflects the grand New Town Hall overlooking it.
The Old Town Hall is in the Old Town where half-timbered buildings were brought from all areas of the city during rebuilding. The square behind hosts one of the Hanover Christmas markets. The others are on Kröpcke pedestrian shopping street, and in front of the station, where the city’s main shopping centre - Ernst August Gallerie – is located.
To the north are the incredible, landscaped Herrenhausen Gardens – awash with colour for much of the year. This area gives its name to the local pilsener – Herrenhäuser. Also here are colourful sculptures by Niki de Saint Phalle, whose work is also displayed in the Sprengel modern art museum.
Set in an Expo City and host of many festivals, the accommodation in Hanover can get booked up quickly, so choose yours on Booking.com soon after booking your flight to Hanover Airport.

Hannover is a typical German city with a pleasant city center where shops remain open until the evening. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from. The main draw seems to be the Hannover Messe events. If you're seeking peace and quiet, Hannover might fit the bill, but some may find it a bit boring.

I liked that Hannover city has limited traffic around the main railway station where only of buses, taxis and bicycles move quite slowly. The roads can be crossed easily, no rushing. Also, where traffic lights are for pedestrians, the green light is coming very soon after touching the button. Public transport is excellent - always in close proximity with multiple choices, moving exactly, except the buses which sometimes delay. The town is very clean.

If Hannover turly is, as is often heard, the most boring city in Germany, it makes me want to explore more of what Germany has to offer. I mean, how nice must all the other cities be if they find Hannover boring, as it is not boring at all.
Like many larger German cities Hannover was bombed and mostly destroyed in the war and has been rebuilt. If you want to see original pre-war Germany, then you can take an easy day-trip to Celle which has been voted as the most beautiful German small town. Also the famous Hameln is an easily doable day-trip.

It was a very short business trip.
It is a quiet, easily accessible city.
They have excellent fairgrounds.
I think the extremely impressive wooden exhibition area is a must-see.
We were able to spare a few hours to visit the city and to take a short city tour by following the "Red Line".
We had some great beer experiences that we couldn't get enough of.
This hotel is great value for money, offering very comfortable and spacious rooms, all inclusive breakfast, and free parking.
As regular travellers and devotees of an international hotel chain, we booked the H+ because our usual chain had no offering in Hannover. However, we were not disappointed at all, and will add the H+ to our list of regular locations.
The combination of space, facilities, breakfast and parking, make this a great value deal.
Staff were warm, professional and welcoming. The room itself was very well appointed with comfortable bedding and plenty of space to do yoga in the morning! We were travelling from France to Poland and this hotel was fairly convenient for anyone wanting a comfortable stopover if driving along the A2, Also the U-Bahn station, Hannover Fuhsestraße, is quite close by. Definitely recommended.
Good value for low price, well located (rather quiet, but several restaurants, bars, cafés nearby). Will definitely stay at this hotel more often for my work stays in Hannover.
Owner was attentive and accepted late arrival although on his way into his own vacation.
(Currently a little reconstruction going on in some of the rooms, but apparently soon finished with more comfort as a result.)
I traveled from another city where I stayed in a different hotel. It was too noisy and the room was too small there. Was very happy finally to get some rest at the Mercure Hotel!
My room at the Mercure was big enough and tidy. There is a lovely park in front of the hotel. The underground parking was also not too busy, easy to find. The staff was really friendly and helpful. Recommended!
We were traveling to Dortmund and we need to stay for one night in Hannover. The hotel's position is very good and quite near to the Main Central Train Station and Bus Station, too. The room was clean and very comfortable with all the people need. The rules against Corona, were always respected. The payment facility was offered wireless card, too.
The room was great and located right next to Pelikan Central! Tough to get better than that for a stay in Hannover. It was one of those locations that you wanted to relax on the lobby to take in the place - a former Pelikan pen factory. Room was modern and the hotel offered a great breakfast with meats and cheeses, juice and coffee.
we stay for 1week and the host really helps us a lot.he help me when I have some small problems in Germany, even drop us to train station for free, and the location was good.super market near by and we can cook every day.it’s 20min drive to Hannover messe.and the parking is free. everything was great!!!
Nice hotel which was built just recently. Small room but that was OK because it was well organized. Nice breakfast and friendly staff. They used "Du" (You) which does not matter for me, that is standard in Sweden, but very strange in Germany. Just some "fun fact".
Located in front of the main train station, right in the center. Typical German hotel of the 90s, if you wanna feel this time ß this is the right choice. It was great back in a days but today it is more like to jump into German passt wells life )
It is a great hotel with quiet and clean rooms. Its location is in the center of Hannover which gives you easy access to shopping malls, restaurants and station. I also liked staffs behavior, they were so nice and much helpful.
My flight was diverted to Hannover due to bad weather conditions. Luckily, I found a room in this hotel to stay overnight. The room was very comfortable, the staff were friendly and I enjoyed both the dinner and the breakfast.
Matea is really a nice host. She is really helpful. The house is really peaceful and well maintained. very well connected to Messe expo... I will defiantly approach her again when I visits Hannover for expo
Beds were very comfortable, supermarket across the street, kitchenette, private bathroom which seems to be difficult to find in Germany. Supplies for keeping the floor clean were provided.
friendly and helpful staff. nice location and amazing breakfast (definitely a recommendation). nearby a metro, so easy accessible if you know how to travel with train or bus in germany.
Simply the best hotel Hannover has to offer. Cozy rooms, exceptional service, absolutely central location, great breakfast buffet etc. Also, if you book early, very reasonable priced.
