Beautiful hotel in a very old building. Room was lovely with a view of the Rhine. The breakfast is delicious with plenty of choice including a hot eggs and bacon option. Staff were lovely & very helpful. We ate at the restaurant one evening only as it only does Thai food - which was very nice but we like German traditional options and they had none. We walked to Bacharach along the Rhine in about 1 hr 20 which was an easy flat walk and bach again. Highly recommend this hotel if visiting the lovely historic town of Oberwesel.
Located within a historic castle, this 4-star hotel offers gourmet cuisine, romantic rooms with great views of the medieval town of Oberwesel and the Rhine River Valley.

Everything about this hotel was amazing. It even had a bar fridge with a selection of beverages, including wine and beer, that was included in the room cost. There was a complementary flask of welcome sherry as well. The decorations of the room, the view from windows, and the top of the castle walkways was phenomenal. You really felt like you were living in a castle. The Restaurant service and food was really very good. Outside, there were pathways around the Hotel for walking excursions.
This traditional hotel lies in Oberwesel’s Old Town, a 6-minute drive from the Loreley Rock. Its rooms offer a flat-screen TV and wonderful views of Schönburg Castle or the River Rhine.

Great location, easy acces by car and free (limited) parking spots available. Our room was on 2th floor, accessible by stairs or elevator. Was clean and decent. The breakfast was great too, maybe a little basic, but it has everything you need. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Some do also speak English. Overall great stay, good price, and everything was hygienic. Would definitely recommend

Nice hotel. We stayed in a ground floor annexe to avoid the stairs in the hotel.
Lovely restaurant.
Also close to the Rhine Valley but up in the hills and not on the river bank so quiet and peaceful.
The family running the hotel and the restaurant were hugely helpful and friendly.

Christian was a very friendly and helpful host, with a good sense of humour. He and Marcel have a fabulous garden which they work very hard at, and of which they are justifiably very proud. Thank you for taking the time to show us round.
The property was spacious and beautifully presented.

This is our second time to stay at the castle.
This is our second time to stay at the castle. You can not imagine how nice it was to bring our granddaughter and her husband with us. What a wonderful stay . Meals were excellent, the veranda seating was outstanding, food was so perfectly done and the staff was way beyond excellent. We asked for some changes in our menu and the senior waiter was on top of everything! We are old but if we could we will come again!

We really enjoyed the medieval feel of the town. They were preparing for a medieval festival while we were there. We wished we could have visited one of the wine restaurants, but they were closed until almost dinner time, and we had reservations at the Schoenberg castle restaurant (which also offered wonderful wines!)

Oberwesel has all the features of a typical historical town along the Rhine river, but it is less busy than nearby Bacharach or Sankt Goar. The town itself could do with some more restaurants and cafés. The scenery is woinderful, with excellent hiking and walking trails (towards the Loreley, or towards Bacharach). If you look for a really quite place to stay, the villages in the hills above Oberwesel may be a good choice.

Oberwesel is a relatively small town in a great situation on the Rhine. It has a selection of shops for all essentials including a Lidl and Rewe and touristy ones. It also has a selection of cafes and restaurants and easy access to other locations which widen the choice further. One of many towns and villages in the Rhine valley and wine region that are well worth visiting,

Oberwesel is a lovely old place with lots of places to visit. The castle on top of the hill is fantastic with a big view. There are lots of old buildings and part of the town wall is still standing. On some parts of it you can walk on top. In another area there are still towers in it. On the river Rhine which has a walk and cycle path along it in both directions.

We just spent one night in Oberwesel and it was fine. Walked to the sights and caught a cruise on Rhine it was our last night exploring Rhine area before heading back to states we loved the apple streudel and coffee at the cafe on main drag by our hotel
We loved everything about this hotel! We were greeted by the hotel owner Paul who’s family has owned this estate for over 6 generations! The value for what you receive is incredible!Their restaurant, hotel and wine from their vineyards is absolutely amazing! Their restaurants 5 star rating is very deserving with their dinners and generous breakfast. The rooms are huge with comfortable beds, nice furniture, a great shower and large spa tub. The windows up to a cool summer breeze and meals can be enjoyed outside on their patio.
The castle on top of the hill is just breathtaking in itself, with the views to top it off. The service was extremely friendly, especially in the restaurant. Our waitress was so sweet and very knowledgeable about the wines. My birthday was taken into account and absolutely everything exceeded my expectations. The hotel gardens were lovely, I wish I had more time to wander around them. We also booked a vineyard tour, which was easily arranged and very interesting with plenty of wine to taste!
Large room with superb excellent beds. Nice terrace with wonderful sightseeing on the Rhine.
Friendly staff and excellent food (thaï) at the restaurant. Local wine highly recommended: the proposed red one was really exceptional for a perfect price. The price of our rooms was really affordable and one of the best value/price ever encountered in all our travels ! We really recommend this hotel, firstly directly to our friends and trough booking to all travelers !
This place is so awesome. We loved staying here and will totally come back. The hosts are SO NICE. We got lost at the station and they came to pick us up! The place itself is totally beautiful and wonderful for a relaxing time and also to explore Oberwesel. We came in the winter and used it as a break between traveling to chill. It was fantastic. I would love to return in the summer. Great place!!
We stayed in the large loft apartment which had two bedrooms, a very nice living room /dining room, a reasonably-sized kitchen and a bathroom.
We were met by a friend of the owner who lived nearby, in order to get the keys.
The property is located in the lovely historical Old Town of Oberwesel. Great points: location! location! location!
The whole place and experience.
The staff are friendly, helpful and very relaxed.
I love the older type buildings filled with history and culture.
It's over the road to a bus stop and the railway station is a short walk away.
Very close to the Rhine and the town of Oberwesel has a castle and lovely historical buildings.
Very large apartment; beds were comfortable, which is a rare find in Germany. Good communication despite a language barrier. Hosts were very accommodating and went out of the way to prepare extra amenities for our kids. We were able to park down the street without any problems. We only wish we could have stayed longer!
The receptionist was super friendly and helpful, check in was smooth en efficiënt. The hotel itself is in a beautiful village, and it fits perfectly in that style.
The rooms are nicely decorated and have all the necessities.
The breakfast buffet was sumptuous, and delicious.
A great place to stay in Oberwesel! The host (Christian) is very friendly and helpful. The appartment was quiet, cosy and very clean. It is well located between the railway station and the city center, with lots of things to discover.
It is a lovely house in the old tradition but well maintained. It's a fairly small town but the hotel is quite central. Parking was very close to the hotel and quite cheap (4 euro per day). Breakfast was quite substantial.
We were on the top level of the tower, and views were great, room very comfortable, Setting near the Rhine, the town of Oberwesel, and vineyards and being in the castle was great. Staff went out of their way to help.
In the center of Oberwesel, a very nice and comfortable appartment, with all you need for a small family of a few people. Fully equiped, clean, and comfortable. The hosts are friendly, responsive, and very attentive.
This castle / hotel / restaurant is truly one of the great places to stay in the world. The views of the Rhine, the amazing food, the top quality service make this one of our most memorable stays in a long while.
Very nice accommodation in a small town Dellhoven close to Oberwesel and the Rhine. Check-in went nice and quick with very friendly and helpful staff. The room and bathroom are very clean, neat, and good size.
A charming family run hotel offering excellent service and food. We used this hotel en route to Switzerland and came back on our return to Amsterdam - it’s that good!
