The heater was on ice in the middle of the night, so cold that I couldn't sleep.
The water in the spa is also very cold, making it almost impossible to get in.

Small town as a gateway to the Lake region.
Small town as a gateway to the Lake region. Perfect for stopping by incase you want to visit Hallstat and other lake regions.
Town itself is good with few important touristic spots like Kaiservilla etc. Good scenery especially on a cloudy day. Being small town shops closes by 6 and then nothing much to do as it becomes quiet.

I have fallen in love with Bad Ischl and its “Sommerfrische”! We first went there in 2021 for the Lehár Operette Festival. It is a quiet village which falls asleep at 10pm, but such a relaxing and beautiful place to stay with so many daytime activities on offer. Close to different lakes and plenty of hiking and cycling opportunities. Lots of culture and loaded with history. I will return here every summer for many years to come.

We went to the thermal after dinner and it was pretty empty (which was great!) note that you must be naked in the Sauna zone.
We had dinner at K.U.K and it was the best dinner we had in our trip
If you come at Winter, for breakfast I recommend to eat at the place you are staying because all cafes serves food outside... for us it was too cold. We ate at a hotel in the center.

1. With "Katrin Seilbahn" you can get a great view. Google Maps will tell you to walk to this place. However, you can get here by bus 551 from Bad Ischl train station. (Takes 10 minutes)
2. Taking a hot spring bath at "Eurotherme Resort" is also recommended.
3. Don't miss out on a delicious meal at "Umeko"

I highly recommend to visit Kaiservilla in Bad Ischl, it still belongs to the descendants of Habsburgs, well maintained, has great atmosphere and the tour guide there was just amazing. The Kaiservilla was featured at least in couple of movies (about Sissi and Ludwig II) and it really stands out compared to the visits to the other palaces and museums around the world, has some special personal touch and is of high historical significance.
Also Bad Ischl is a great budget base for visiting Hallstatt.
I had to book last minute due to a medical emergency. In my haste I didn’t check the map and assumed the property was in Bad Ischl. I was disappointed to find out we were almost 5 km out of town in a tiny spot called Lauffen. However, it turned out to be just what we needed, and we were able to check in early. The property is right on the river, which includes a small beach and swimming area. It was quiet and peaceful and the landlady was very friendly and helpful.
The apartment is well located at the heart of Bad Ischl, we had all the facilities we needed and felt quite at home. The bed is comfortable and the apartment is very clean. We highly recommend the place but with some earplugs to get better sleep. I only reduced one grade for the noise otherwise we were really happy with the location and everything else. The apartment is central but it also has its cons for hearing cars and people the whole night.
This house is great for families
You have 3 big and spacious bedrooms
A dining table, fully equipped kitchen
Firewood stove in the kitchen and water heating for the entire house
There is a outdoor sitting area + grill (BBQ)
and a parking space for your car
It is located on the side roads of the village so it is super quiet, and in 2 min walk you have amazing open views
The host is super friendly and assisted with everything we asked for
Sonnhof was a delightful stay. Perfect location within 2 min-walk access to Bad Ischl Train Station and buses to neighbouring towns, with outstanding attentive care from the host Chris and a luminous breakfast seating area. The shower pressure, kitchen and strong wifi were much appreciated too. We were also grateful for the personal help with laundry and luggage storage at check out. Highly recommended with a 10/10 .
Super friendly and professional hosts. Very easy and contactless check in. All is brand new, extremely clean and very practical. Loved the coffee machine ❤ Good WiFi, good kitchen equipment.
The location is quiet but still very close to centre. Good parking, we even could charge our electric car.
Best place we have stayed so far in Bad Ischl - we will return next year! Thank you for everything!
A lovely property with a private terrace overlooking the mountains. The kitchen was exceptionally well stocked and there was a power shower. In light of the amenities, to include a dishwasher and a washing machine, this was an ideal base for a self-catering holiday in Salzkammergut Region of Austria. The WiFi also worked well.
An underrated Hotel in Bad Ischl great for groups of four. Comfortable beds and the buffet breakfast is really worth it. It's amazing that the hotel is understaffed but still manage to provide for and treat the guests properly without complaints. The reception and the cleaning lady deserves a raise for their best work 👌
Very nice place and we enjoyed our stay here.
Very pleased to find coffee, sugar and cream in the kitchen..and that is ALWAYS appreciated. Comfy room , kitchen area & spacious bathroom.
Location is great as it's a short drive to surrounding touristy areas and we also enjoyed the town of Bad Ischl.
Perfect starting point to discover austrian lakes, since it is in the middle of everything. Apartment was clean, well equiped, had everything we needed, 10 minutes walking distance from city center. Check in and check out was contactless and worked very well
Very friendly and helpful staff, lovely terrace with a beautiful view, clean rooms, well-equipped kitchen, great breakfast, convenient parking near the guest house, convenient location (close to Hallstatt, Bad Ischl..)
The hotel was located near a mountain, with walking trails and a mountain lift near by. The apartment we rented was on the top floor and it was very spacious and beautifully decorated.
Nice little hotel in a very nice location.
Convenient time to move in.
Very tasty and varied breakfast.
Own parking for cars.
Close to Bad Ischl , Hallstatt and Dachstein Glacier
Amazing views, great design.
Place is like from the fairytale.
Cozy rooms, hotel is in the very picturesque place, and relaxation in spa with the Mountain View is amazing.
The rooms are big and clean. We have everything we need for a trip. No idea about the breakfast. But we are happy with the service of the the Aparthotel Pan Haus
