I'm going to hijack this space to promote the Rotterdam Marathon, since that's why I was there. I've run 20 marathons now and this is one of the very best. The city comes ALIVE out on the streets and the crowds are SO supportive of runners, constantly encouraging individual runners by name (printed on bibs) throughout the entire race. Thank you Rotterdam for such a great experience! And for any marathon runners who read this, you really need to run this race and visit this city!

Rotterdam is a good base to stay to visit the south west side of Netherlands. Very very windy city tho... the winds could move my travel stroller even w my baby in it, lol.
We completed Rotterdam in a day, with a visit to the maritime museum. Markthall is pretty, but thats about it. We enjoyed Denhague a lot.

We were there for the marathon, but we could visit a little bit of the city.
It is a very interesting city from an architectural point of view. Old is mixed with new and the new buildings are mostly very special.

Overall the city of Rotterdam, is very easy to get around as there is a great transport network there. Unless you are traveling very late at night or very early in the morning the frequency of the buses, metro and trams is very good. There are lots of places to eat and drink. If you just want to sample a few places then I would recommend going on a food and drink tour (There are lots of different tours you can do in Rotterdam) One of the best ways to see Rotterdam city center is by bike. If you are looking to see the city as a whole then I would recommend the metro. Rotterdam has lots to offer. This includes various bike and walking tours, markets, museum's, Zoo's and Architecture

I chose Rotterdam as a good base to see several towns in the region. But in hindsight, I would not do this again and would not recommend it. It's not a destination city. Yes, some cool architecture, but also tons of ugly buildings and generic shopping. If I had it to do over again, I would have booked those 6 nights in Leiden, which we loved!

Good city to visit, an hour by train from Amsterdam.
Good city to visit, an hour by train from Amsterdam. Not overrun with tourists, friendly locals who nearly all speak good English, so no problem making yourself understood. Lots of interesting architecture, nice coffee places with pastries and cookies available, Dutch apple tart a speciality.
Really well equipped accommodation in a perfect location for city centre. It is more of an apartment than a hotel but excellent nonetheless. Really close to Metro Rotterdam Beurs, direct link from Hook of Holland ferry or Rotterdam Central train station. Contact from host Natasja was excellent, attentive and welcoming. Even have some sight seeing tips. Highly recommend property for an easy stay. Equipped kitchen so could self cater if wanted. Would happily use this accommodation again if visiting.
Loved the comfortable beds, excellent shower and very quiet room. Breakfast was really good both mornings (including Sunday brunch). Despite being very busy, staff were friendly and efficient. The location of this hotel is outstanding for anyone wanting to be a convenient walk from the Centrum area (about 15 minutes max) and Centraal train station (literally steps across the plaza). It made our transit to and from Schipol a breeze. No need for a car.
We stayed at Citizen M multiple times, and we always enjoyed everything about the hotel. The location is excellent, really central for Rotterdam city walks. The Saturday market right in front of the hotel (next to Markethaal) is a highlight of our visit each time. We usually come in our car, so it is always good to have parking in the hotel. The rooms are cozy and has all the amenities one might need. The hotel staff are helpful and friendly.
This was a very nice small hotel in Rotterdam Bleek district. It was near restaurants and shops. I particularly liked the interior of the hotel, which was recently renovated. The rooms were clean and freshly decorated. I particularly liked the bed and the quietness (my room was facing away from street, but the area is silent in general with no car traffic). The bed was super comfortable, and I had a great sleep! Would stay again.
Top location near the central station, public transport and shopping areas, and at the same time at extremely quiet street in the central part of the city. The receptionist Annette was very friendly and supportive with my questions. On the hotel's initiative I was upgdraded to a bigger room than I booked originally making my stay extra comfortable after a busy working day. Very recommended accommodation at the heart of Rotterdam!
The rooms have a minimalist, contemporary, black and gray look. They are spacious, comfortable and quiet with high quality drapes and a great shower. The hotel is an easy 10-15 minutes walk from Rotterdam Centraal station on Weena Ave. It offers to store your bags. There is complimentary mint water, tea and coffee ( and fresh fruits outside breakfast hours) in lobby. You can rent bikes from the hotel.
Very nice staff and beds are good. Breakfast is not super but decent. I got a free upgrade from a single to double room. Its a cheap hotel. I used it for a place to rest after a party in town. Location is ideal. Very near the subwaystation and city centre.
The apartment has a great value for money, silent bedroom, right next the Zuidplein Metro station and 5 minutes from AHOY exibition centre, super markets and restaurants just at 2 minutes walk. it takes 15 minutes with metro to get to the city center.
Marco is the best host I’ve seen in Netherlands . Also his breakfast ( he made it himself) is so delicious. The vicinity of hotel is so easy to travel all the city by foot. If I travel to Rotterdam again, I will stay in here again :)
The fact that there is a gym and 24/7 mini supermarket in the hotel and plenty of spots in the parking lot. This is a convenient location for guests willing to go one day to the Hague and another one to Rotterdam downtown.
The staff were very friendly. They helped us out from the start. The style of the place is very trendy. And I would recommend anyone who wants to stay in a trendy/tech hotel to come here. And enjoy the city of Rotterdam.
Small and cosy hotel right next to the center of Rotterdam. A walking distance from train station and all the major sights of the city. Room was clean and quiet and bed was really comfy. Had a very pleasant stay
Value for the money. If you just need hotel - nothing more, it's excellent. Spirit of the place it is one of the rare buildings in Rotterdam surviving the 1940 bombing. It's just in the centre of the city.
The staff was awesome and it is super easy to get to the Hotel. There is a bus stop right in front of the hotel that takes you straight to Rotterdam Centraal.
