Goris is one of the least discovered places in Armenia by tourists. I would say it is the only city with original architecture surviving. The scenery is outstanding and you see greens everywhere you walk. The pointy rocks in the mountains are unique. People are very friendly BUT the taxi drivers charge tourists double! One of the best place in Armenia for a very natural view . Supermarkets are really affordable . Drawback is communication in English. Rest you can get everything in center of Goris except the supermarkets beside the hotel. Very clean and smooth roads. Swinging bridge is one of the tourist attraction.

Everything was very clean. We had a delicious Armenian BBQ cooked by the host, and breakfast in the morning. Quantity and quality was perfect (even too much). It is a little difficult to communicate with the host as none of them speak anything other than Armenian or Russian, but their son is available on the phone/WhatsApp and speaks great English, and we used apps the rest of the time.

The location is perfect, within easy walking distance of the city center and all the main attractions. But the best part of the apartment is the host. He wants to help you as much as he can. I really recommend staying at his apartment not only for one night. The Goris region is really amazing and worth staying more nights to explore it.

I must mention here the fantastic hike from Tatev to Devils Bridge. According to Hike Armenia app a 6.5km easy hike that would take 3.5 hours, which was completed in about 2.15 hours but the last crossing of the river caused serious delays as the water was too high. It added to the adventure. Start is not wel signposted but along the route it was very well signposted.
