We hated it. We felt unsafe, boxed in.
We hated it. We felt unsafe, boxed in. My friend is fluent in Japanese but even she was having trouble making the staff understand even small things.
It’s a love hotel. Very disturbing. Sextoy magasine, prostitute magasine, locked doors that only open when you call and ask the staff to open the doors.
Staff that didn’t understand. Making me pay for two rooms when giving us just one room.

Shizuoka city has the pleasant atmosphere of a sizable city with a country feel. I love Shizuoka and of course, that big mountain is always visible in the near vicinity when it's not hanging with its cloudy mates.

From a touristic perspective Shizuoka was just perfect for travelers who look for a more relaxing location. It was not full of tourists like you would expect seeing in Tokyo. But this also means that not everything is written or explained in english.
Shizuoka is a perfect stay location when you want to visit locations like Nagoya, Hamamatsu, Mishima or similiar (so places you would usually pass with a shinkansen from Tokyo to Kyoto)

Oku-oi kojo, Yume no Tsuribashi...difficult to get to, but worth it. A must visit for those who want to get on hanging bridges, unmanned stations in middle of a lake, train lovers, nature enthusiasts and of course kids who love Thomas.

We only stayed in Shizuoka for 1 night and it was definitely not enough length. We saw Mt. Fiji and beaches, and also experienced hot spring. We went to the waterfall as well. All of experiences were enjoyable.
This is not a hotel for tourists outside of Japan.
The room we stayed in was average at best. One wall was like a chipboard that had no paper or paint. Now, I may be a little bit picky. But it was a tiny room, breakfast was japanese, that's fine, but a small piece of brioche bread, and croissants does not make it European.
There was no reserve toilet paper in our room. It did run out, so I waited for the train station to go to the ladies. It felt a little bit in the seedy part of town. Sadly, I'd never stay here again.
This is a very convenient place to stay when visiting Shizuoka. The rooms are small, as in all Japanese business hotels, but nice, clean and comfortable. The bathtub is really nice! Breakfast buffet is included in the room price, and it's a very good breakfast with a good selection of Japanese and Western food. Furthermore, there is a 7-elven on the first floor, and lots of bars, restaurants and entertainment in walking distance from the hotel. Recommended!
Stayed here for a few days. Location is several minutes walk from the station but not terribly inconvenient to get to. They provided some pretty good amenities such as "free" breakfast (comes with the cost of the hotel so not really free) and free curry in the evenings. The facilities and rooms are overall good and modern although with some downsides (more below). The onsen was also pretty good for a hotel in the city.
Everything is excellent, new hotel with cozy spacious lobby, free coffee and lounge space available from the moment you check in, onsen and breakfast was wonderful as well, apart from various choice of food there's even strawberry 🍓!room was nice and clean, giving a view to street of Shizuoka, location is very convenient to city center and shopping area, very nice experience. Definitely recommend!
This is a fabulous hotel in a great location. I think I have stayed here eight times over the years and it never disappoints. At Shizuoka station with all its facilities (JR East and Shinkansen) close to shops, restaurants and buses. We had a small issue during our stay that was dealt with promptly and very politely. Highly recommended.
The Hotel is beautiful, staff are excellent. Its a very clean hotel and very well maintained. Its a great location and has many great restaurants locally and right over the road from the train station. Breakfast is excellent with a wide variety of food on offer, it gets busy quickly, so getting there early is advised.
We fell in love with the space and the cosy atmosphere from the beginning to the end of our stay in Shizuoka. The host was friendly and helpful and the service was very professional. We loved the breakfast and the location was top. We also enjoyed being able to rent bicycles to travel around the city.
This was our 2nd stay at Hagoromo Hotel. We came back because we had such a wonderful experience on our first stay. We weren't disappointed! The Japanese breakfast was very good! The staff was amazingly attentive. The location is great and we had a picture perfect day of viewing Mt Fuji!
Very clean and one of the best showers we had in all of Japan. They have some great amenities and free soda, coffee and alcohol. Staff is very friendly and helpful. They can call you taxis and even help get a hold of the taxi company when someone loses their phone.
Romey is an absolute legend he is one of the best hosts we have had, he made us feel right at home and feel like guests at the same time. Highly highly recommend this spot to anyone wanting a fun getaway in a not so busy part of Japan, really makes it all worth it!
10-minute walk from Shizuoka station but very close to the new Shizuoka station. It tastes only 1 minute to the bus stop to Shizuoka airport limousine.
Syaff at the reception did not speak English but kind enough to communicate.
Value for money!!!
very good hotel, has even public bath!
about 10 minutes walk to the station, via the city center, many restaurants around.
Breakfast was very good as well.
would stay again, no issues!
Nice hotel! I liked the convenient location in a shopping area near Shizuoka station, it was a good deal, and the staff were friendly. The customer service was great!
Location was near the train station making it very convenient. Breakfast had wide selection and food was delicious. My room had a perfect view of Mt Fuji.
