We booked here because it was next door to the train station so we could make an easy transfer in the morning to Hiroshima. Rooms were nice and dark, beds were very comfortable and room was spacious. The breakfast had a wide variety but I would still consider it a basic breakfast, nothing outstanding.
It was about a 1 and a half hour transfer from Narita airport but very easy to get to.

We were there for the beginning of Golden week. Lots of people holidaying on the first weekend. It was quieter through the week.
The gardens were in full bloom around the city and very clean.
The waterfront was clean and many flower gardens a relaxed atmosphere.
Prices for food and transport were reasonable often less expensive than expected.
The hop on off bus was good but limited at stopping at museums and places of interest.
The trains were easy to use always asked. We saved the routes to phone and showed people. Who could read English but not able to express it.
We caught the city bus to Sankeiein Gardens. Showed bus driver where going and he told us where to get off.
The trains and buses have English destinations - next stop as they rolled over on the indication board.
The Sankeiein Gardens were peaceful and had a free English guide. Jim who did a fantastic roll with communication and he enjoyed what he gave as a volunteer.
We ate mostly in the underground resturants eateries with lots of choices. Less than 500 metres from our accommodation at the Shereton.
Overall as over 70's independant travellers we found it easy to travel around Yokohama if you take your time with language and have planned where you want to go. Our advice is ride with the tide. Be patient and understanding. Don't travell in the rush hour before 10 and and after 3pm.

Yokohama is a nice place to travel and explore.
Yokohama is a nice place to travel and explore. It is smaller than the big neighbour Tokyo but this gives it its charm. Great places are Yokohama station, Minato Mirai, Sakuragicho and Shinko. In Sakuragicho you can take the cable car to Shinko which is a great area to walk around, eat, drink and shop. The Red Brick warehouse is also situated there, where they host events all year round and you can find unique souvenir shops and restaurants.
Yokohama station at first it may feel crowded but the moment you get out of the station things relax. Inside the station itself you can find many shopping opportunities and lots of good restaurants with delicious food. Minato Mirai and Sakuragicho are fantastic places if you like walking by the sea, eat well, have a good cup of coffee and enjoy your time. The cup noodles museum is also located there which is definitely worth a visit to have some fun for an hour and create your own cup of noodles.

We stayed at the MinatoMirai which is walking distance to most of the attractions like the pier district, museums and Chinatown.
Totally different from Tokyo, much more relaxed and the pier district was wonderful!
There was also a yummy anchovy based ramen near the Yokohama Station .... can't remember what it was but it was yummy!
So many attractions and interesting places to explore. Totally recommend a few days exploring Yokohama.

Yokohama is a city brimming with interesting places to visit, delicious food to sample, and history to learn. Not only that, but I’ve spent a lot of time in Japan, and no where else did I find such friendly people!
My favorite bite was at Central Burger off the Ishikawacho stop. They serve an amazing American style smash burger that they’ve made completely their own. I had to leave the states to find a burger THAT GOOD.
I was sorry to leave this great city.

Yokohama, a gem among the cities I've visited, truly...
Yokohama, a gem among the cities I've visited, truly encapsulates the essence of a modern yet culturally rich urban landscape. The city's charm lies not only in its stunning architecture and well-planned layout but also in the warmth and friendliness of its people, a trait synonymous with Japanese hospitality. Strolling through Yokohama, one cannot miss the iconic landmarks that define its skyline – the majestic Sail Training Ship Nippon Maru, a beacon of the city's maritime heritage, and the towering Ferris wheel that offers breathtaking views. The city is also a sanctuary for those seeking a blend of modernity and tradition, with its numerous temples and historical sites providing a tranquil escape. Every culinary experience here was a delight; the restaurants in Yokohama go above and beyond to offer exceptional service, ensuring each meal is not just about the exquisite Japanese cuisine but also about the overall dining experience. This harmonious blend of urban sophistication and cultural richness makes Yokohama an unforgettable destination.
Yokohama Bay Hotel is ideally located for your last nights in Japan. There are some lovely walks along the bay side and really only about 15mins walk to the Red Brick Warehouse precinct on the bay where there are some interesting eateries and artisan shops. Of course there’s the Cup Noodle Museum and Fun Park with carnival rides, Ferris wheel etc for the kids. Underground malls and shopping precincts are connected to the hotel as well as a short walk to the train station and the Yokohama Art Gallery.
Standard Japanese hotel chain hotel room, i.e. clean, small, frienly staff and everything is fine. Location very close to Yokohama main station is a plus for convinience (as is the convience store with access via the lobby), though it is somewhat noisy. Windows block noise quite well, but it is a loud location (front are the train tracks and back are major motorways). I didn't mind at all, but for people who are sensitive to such things, this might a useful information.
1. Location was very convenient. Just a few minutes walk from Shin-Yokohama Station.
2. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. It was easy to communicate with them in both English and Japanese. They even accommodated our request to have an Amazon package delivered to the front desk.
3. We booked a room with 3 beds and it wasn't crowded at all. Also, we had everything we needed in the rooms.
Conveniently close to Yokohama station, you literally can just walk through the station to the hotel elevators. Rooms were clean and love that they did a "green pass" type of thing where they gave you a 500 yen certificate per day that you didn't need maid service. Several restaurant choices inside the hotel and in the surrounding area so we never went hungry.
The location was great, the staff was kind and exceptional, probably the best staff I’ve ever had in all Japan, the breakfast was delicious and the room felt brand new, it was always clean and the bed was spacious and comfortable. I will definitely come back to this hotel in every future trip to Japan from now on. Thank you so much for everything.
This hotel is superb. The staff were so very friendly and helpful. We had a corner room in the tower with magnificent views north and east. The room was very spacious and comfortable. This was our last night in Japan after 24 days and it was a wonderful ending. The limousine bus to Haneda Airport leaves just from across the road.
A nice surprise that Daiwa Roynet Hotel Yokohama-Koen is close to China Town in Japan! We loved the shopping, restaurants, and all the retailers in this area dotted with beautiful temples throughout. The hotel is comfortable, the staff is pleasant and accommodating, and the location is within walking distance to everything.
The hotel is super close to Shin Yokohama station, just only less than 5mins walk. The hotel staff were nice and speak pretty good English. The lower level of 7/F to 1//F is for events, higher floors are rooms, we stayed in 13/F, just one floor shy of the top. Can have a good view of Yokohama if it weren’t the rain.
The hotel is incredible. The location is fantastic at 10 min from the conference center Pacifico and in the heart of Yokohama. Everything is clean and the room is cleaned once a day. The room is small but it is part of the Japanese culture. It's even relatively cheap (64 euro per day) . Absolutely approved.
This is our second time staying at APA HOTEL & RESORT YOKOHAMA BAY TOWER. We chose to book the Harbor View Part and it’s so amazing May it be daytime or night time. Our room has superb view of Yokohama Bay Area . The hotel has many tourist attractions nearby.
Main reason to stay there is it’s very near the cruise port - you can walk easily. It’s also easy for Chinatown and the harbour area. Yokohama is really nice and a manageable size unlike some of the other cities in Japan which are mind bogglingly huge!
Excellent hotel in Yokohama prior to a cruise. Stayed here twice. One room had a great view, the other looked towards another hotel. The room was a good size by Japanese standards, typical bathroom, comfortable bed, lovely helpful staff, nice breakfast.
It is in a good location to China Town or the Marine Bay. We used car, which was convenient to travel during the trip. Yokohama is worth vistiting in Japan. This hotel is worth a stay for your vacation.
We were here for just one night at the very end of a long-ish stay in Japan. It's very conveniently located; the subway stop was literally right outside, with the main Yokohama Station easy to get to.
The hotel is quite new and most importantly very convenient location! We can easily walk from Yokohama station through Nissan building and even to Minato Mirai area and couldn’t ask more.
The room was spacious and clean. The beds were comfortable. The location was good. (Close to the Yokohama station) i would recommend staying in this hotel:)
