Great city to stay in. Definitely the safari hub; at least four major safari destinations (Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro crater) within a day's drive. Lots of great (if sometimes challenging) hiking to be done in the foothills of Mount Meru and the Kilimanjaro (or climb the mountains if you feel like it). I enjoyed chatting with the other guests over 7pm dinner and afterward at the outdoor fire pit. Small shop to buy drinks / snacks opens at 4pm, free bananas any time, and water refill as well!

The hotel is very quiet, and felt very safe. The bedrooms are nice and meet all your needs. Having a pool is a plus (although it was quite cold), and the food was generally very good.
