Amazing authentic african ‘hotel’ with super atmosphere!
The owner says himself it’s not a hotel, but a home. And it’s easy to see why. This place is a warm community with great facilities and nature hand in hand. The atmosphere and the staff make sure you feel at home and they’ll help you with whatever you would need.
Me and my friends had a wonderful time in this beatiful home and we hope to return sometime soon!

The garden is perfect to stay during the evenings and to enjoy the ocean and drinks. There you can feel the wind and stay for long nights.
The food is delicious and staff is very friendly. Every day, catch of the day is different and you can try different fishes.
Fruits served for breakfast are delicious.

Bwejuu is set on a beautiful beach north of Paje. There’s a lot to do in the area (caves, forests , spice farms, Rock restaurant) and lots of bars and restaurants however you’ll need transportation to access them.
We travelled around the entire island in an hire car which I would highly recommend, was great fun and easy to find our way around. I would say this area is more dirty and littered which is a shame as the rest of the country is really well kept.

We were a family of 10 people.
We were a family of 10 people. I did not expect to walk in sand all over the place. The foliage kept it a little cooler. The pool was fine and clean. I did not expect no air conditioning and trying to stay cool with a standing room fan.
Food was Ok - nothing special. The drive from the airport after dark was dangerous. The walk to the beach was short. A few restaurants were open down the beach.
We moved to another resort just down the street after one night and had clean rooms, air conditioning, on the beach, great meals. We kept our keys because they said we could not get a refund for the 2nd and 3rd nights we had reserved. They said we could come back and use the pool but did rent out our rooms from the 2nd & 3rd nights.
It was more like a hostel but was not advertised well on Booking.com

Bwejuu is a small village with two shops where you can buy groceries and cosmetics. There is public transport there. In the vicinity is bigger village of Paje where there are more restaurants and shops.
The beach is absolutely beautiful - white sand, wide a very long (excellent for walks and looking for shells), few people there.
The best restaurants are Shanti café and Sahari.
You can hire kite board there and teacher for kite boarding.
8 km from Bwejuu is beautiful place where you can watch sunset and enjoy big bar with excellent drinks and good music for dancing.

Bwejuu has a great beach.
Bwejuu has a great beach. It is relatively quiet with only a few people working the beach to sell tours etc. We met some friendly locals and joined in some birthday celebrations, which was fun.
Best be aware that there is a big tide so you can’t swim all the time. When the tide is in, the water is shallow and very warm.
In the evenings there is a warm breeze that is refreshing and keeps the mosquitoes away.

Bwejuu area is very disappointing.
Bwejuu area is very disappointing. It has a beach that cannot be enjoyed, far from everywhere, much more expensive than Nungwi and much lower quality. It is a complete mess. I don’t understand why Paje and Bwejuu area are so famous
Loved everything about the hotel - the young couple who owned hotel, they are so nice and welcoming. Staff are very attentive. Great beach with white sand. After 8 days of Kilimanjaro trek, this is truly paradise. There was complementary boat trip to snorkel and swim; I was lucky to observe professional coconut harvesting which happens every two weeks, then taste the fresh coconut water and flesh. We flew in early in the am from Kilimanjaro and we were surprised to find our room was ready!! So flexible and accommodating.
- Staff was very hospitable and are always on top of things to make my stay as comfortable as possible
- Great Spa and wellness center
- breakfast
- caught a mahi mahi during a fishing trip, went straight to the chef to ask him if he can cook it for me. within an hour, he made a three course meal out of the fish (compliments to the chef)
- Pool area was nice and comfy but wished the pool had pool bar to enjoy drinks while on the water.
- The hotel is well taken care of in terms of landscaping and cleanliness
Sahari is a beautiful small hotel on the stunning beach of Bwejuu. It is set back from the beach, and everything is natural and simple. The hotel is centred around a lovely small pool (not for swimming but a great place to relax) and has very clean and nice sized rooms and a beautiful restaurant. The beach is exquisite, although the extreme tides means it is only possible to swim at certain times of the day. Breakfast was great and the staff were all exceptionally warm and helpful.
This is a well-appointed, small hotel with a limited number of guests at any one time. I wish that I could have taken my bed home with me. Great spot on the beach - enjoy your meals with a view of the sea. Super food in the restaurant - no need to eat anywhere else. Spend all day on a lounger looking out to sea or by the pool if you want. I didn't go on any, but there is a tour guide on site if you want to arrange an outing.
Nice small hotel with very friendly owners pair:)
Just at the beach, you can borrow bicycles, beach shoes. Breakfast fresh, tasty and not repeating every morning. A lot of fresh fruits! You can enjoy also a good lunch or dinner, if you do not want to go to some other places.
Nobody disturbs you on the beach!
Paje beach with many kite surfing schools and more bars/ restaurants just 10 min by bicycle.
Simba apartment hotel is super clean and a flat is perfect for a family. The place is very cosy. There is a great restaurant with big selection of local and international food. The staff is very friendly and professional. The owner and his wife will help you with anything. The beach is 3 minutes walk. Thank you Simba and Diane for a great hospitality and great holiday!
The cosy paradise on the coast of Indian Ocean! Private villa with an astonishing view to the ocean, comfortable beds, white sandy beach, friendly and helpful staff, nice and clean pool, best food in Bwejuu area. A perfect place for family stay! Enjoyed every minute of our stay!
We spent a week in Zanzibar in 3 different hotels close in price and this was clearly the best. Everything was excellent from the reception, to the room, the pool and the restaurant directly on the beach and the staff was very kind and smiling all the time.
The Hotel is nestled in the second row behind another hotel. The beach is close but the acces is not very clean. The room was very nice and spacious, the pool was very nice, not too much chlorine and everything was very clean and well kept.
Cozy bungalows in the heart of a tropical garden and on the beach between Paja and Bwejuu villages. Greater Paja can be reached by a nice walk along the beach. The resort is carefully maintained, the rooms are cleaned daily.
Location is great and the property is as beautiful as it looks on the photos. The beach is public so you get to see some foot traffic. The manager was super nice and really tried to make us comfortable and at home.
TThis place is a gem next to Bwejuu Beach. The rooms are clean and comfortable. You have everything you need. You can take a motorcycle taxi to get to Paje town and the beach is three minutes away.
- Very cozy and thoughtful decorated spacious rooms
- multiple nice chillout areas
- facilities of a nearby luxury hotel with beach access can be utilised
- friendly staff
- great breakfast
The hotel owner was very kind and treated me like his daughter, room was always clean and the staff was very friendly, I felt very safe. My room was upgraded with no extra charge 🙂
The hotel is located right on the beach, the view is amazing, and the staff is very friendly. The rooms are very cozy and, for a European, seem quite authentic for Africa.
Amazing little cute hotel with great staff and great food! the all day coffee stations had me sold . Yvonne was absolutely amazing and so were the rest of the staff!
This is our second time in this lovely hotel and we love it. The rooms the staff and the food everything is Great. We will come again for sure. Thank you always :)
