An excellent choice for staying in Moshi! Clear views of Kilimanjaro from the top floor and very nice, comfortable rooms. The property owner, Gabriel was very helpful and attentive in making sure my stay was an enjoyable one. The food and restaurant service was very good. Exceptional value for money here. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to others and would stay here again on a return trip to Moshi.

Great little hotel in a very green and luscious old villa a bit outside the center of Moshi. There is a hospitality school on site and a very servicable vegetarian restaurant, also run mostly by the pupils (girls) of the school. The pupils are boarding in a seperate building on the site. If you are lucky there are views of mount Kili from the terrace / restaurant. Apparently the property used to be an orphanage, but it does not show. The rooms are spacious and luxurious. There is a generator for when the power goes out. It's easy to grab a bajaj to the center, if you walk 1 minute from the entrance.

The weather is great - quite cool at this time of year. The town is clean and well labelled. It is a small town so its very serene and has little traffic jam. I consider it a great stop-over if heading to Dar es salaam by road from the Kenya side.

For Touring around and climbing Mt Kilimanjaro, i recommend Fred's trekking and safaris. They are the best.

It's a busy but friendly city, I was grateful to not be driving myself anywhere. Taxis are very easy to get. It helps to have someone local who can help you navigate. The food is great and the people are kind.

Leafy town on the southern slopes of Mt. Kilimanjaro.
Leafy town on the southern slopes of Mt. Kilimanjaro. The town itself does not have a real center, just a tacky sculpture of Mt. Kilimanjaro in the center of a roundabout.
However, if you stay a little bit outside of town then you can enjoy the unique location.

There is a lot of really nice restaurants(indointaliano is one of the best) and the view of Kilimanjaro is amazing. Moshi is the best place to find a company which will take you to the summit of Kilimanjaro. You can also do day trips from Moshi to Materuni waterfalls or Kikuletwa Hot Springs.

There is absolutely nothing to do in Moshi and is only good if you do a tour or two and hike Kilimanjaro. When you are done with those, get out! The do have a Regional Immigration Office that will extend your visa for 30 days if you need it.
Highly recommended. Everything you need from a good hostel. Great value for money.
Easy walking distance from bus station. Good location - close to ATM and all essential shops etc.
Comfortable beds, warm covers, fans and nets. Clean and well maintained rooms. Clean bathrooms with hot water.
Very good food at reasonable prices. Breakfast until 10am.
Nice restraunt area and communual seating areas.
Friendly staff and a travel office for tours and safaris.
Best hostel I have found in Tanzania so far.
Well located in a peaceful neighbourhood... quite far from town but an easy walk through a village and by a vanilla plantation to where the tuk-tuks stop. Cheap ride to town... of course the reception will order you a taxi if that's your preference.
Excellent hotel with excellent staff who can organise all kinds of activities.
Restaurant and bar. Rooftop terrace with mountain views, cloud-permitting.
All facilities, including strong wi-fi
Probably one of the best place in town, hence you pay what you pay. Nice grounds in lush garden with well located restaurant and swimmingpool. Restaurant has reasonable price quality but excellent ambiance (lots of indian dishes revealing the owners heritage) It seems that most officials and foreign staff prefer to stay here when need be in Moshi. Efficient staff and really pleasant place to stay.
Dee is such a nice host. If you are looking for an authentic way to get to know the Tanzanian culture and people, this is the place to go. It feels more like a home than a hotel. More like a stay with friends than with strangers. Dee and Peter helped us a lot with the organization of trips & always did the extra mile for us. We really enjoyed our stay here! Thanks again, Dee & Peter ☺️
The Panone is a budget motel at a great price. The hotel was located close to the Kiliminjaro Airport as well as to the parks in the area. The staff were were all welcoming and helpful. They provided day trip arrangements as my flight wasn't until the evening. I went to the Kikuletwa or Chemuka Hot Springs with a terrific guide. A nice breakfast was included.
Hubert was really lovely and helped us a lot.
The room is basic but comfortable and clean. Same applies to bathrom and kitchen. We felt really at home and enjoyed our stay, we will come back.
Shanty town is also a really nice area to stay in Moshi, beautiful sourounding, lots of nice restaurants and cafes around and only a quick bajaji ride away from the city.
This was one of the most unique hotels at which we have stayed. The pottage we had was exceptional, the grounds were in full bloom with multiple exotic flowers and plants, the food was fantastic, 3 swimming pools and the owners were most accommodating. If you have a chance to go to Moshi, you should reserve a room of the Pink Flamingo. You won't regret it!
I liked the accommodation level and it's comfortability, the view of Mount Kilimanjaro and the tour services provided at the center. Greenwellness Homes provide different tour services in Tanzania in which I only did 5 days Sharing Safari to Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro, everything was wonderful.
I love the mission of this property (check out their website!). All the on-site staff was wonderful especially chef Martha! the proximity to town and other nearby day trips is great. They also will coordinate day trips for you and all of their quotes were cheaper for a solo traveler than any where else!
Far's house is so nice, spacious, beautiful and calm. It's decorated beautifully and the beds are really comfortable. Everything is so clean - the house is cleaned everyday so I felt such at ease in Far's house and it was truly quiet and peaceful but close enough to Moshi Town.
This was one of my favorite places to stay in Tanzania. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the place had a very pleasant atmosphere with a view of Kilimanjaro from the restaurant. Breakfast was healthy, comfortable bed and the Wi-Fi connection worked perfect.
The hotel is a very good standard for Tanzania and East Africa. Very clean, well configured, with good fixtures and fittings etc. The owner has not scrimped and saved and has made sure that guests are comfortable with hot water and good showers etc. The hotel bar
The staff was top notch. The showers were hot, and the rooms were clean. Nice view of Kili from the second floor as well. This is my second time staying at Springlands Hotel. I will definitely return there whenever I’m in the Kilimanjaro area.
The place was fantastic. Such a great place to stay if you want to experience the life of rural Tanzania. It's lush and green trees are the perfect foreground for the beautiful view of Kilimanjaro and the food was fantastic.
the staff and Manager were wonderful. They could not have been better hosts. The main hotel was overbooked so they moved us and upgraded us to their second location and they provided free transportation
The great view on the Kilimanjaro from the rooftop terrace.
The employees are very sympathic and helpful.
The room was confortable, it was the best value for money I had in Tanzania.
