Cosy accommodation close to St Andrews & nearby beach area. The staff were particularly welcoming (Annette) and the Inn provided exceptional breakfasts & home cooked nutritious meals in the evening. A cosy bar area to relax in at the end of the day and plenty of parking. We loved our 3 day stay & would highly recommend to other travelers.

The walks in this part of the country are stunning as are the beaches if you get the weather! And there's never a shortage of good places to eat. If you have a furry friend, the majority of the shops and restaurants are pet friendly.

Anstruther is a lovely and lively little town in the beautiful East Neuk of Fife. It has a very picturesque harbour, good eating places, including the wonderful and award-winning Anstruther Fish Bar, a number of interesting shops and a well-stocked Co-op. It is within easy reach of other lovely little East Neuk towns/villages, including St Monans, Pittenweem and Crail, and the university town of St Andrews, which is a must for visitors to the area. The RNLI shop at Anstruther harbour has a really good selection of little presents to take home to loved ones, including the iconic yellow wellies for little feet!

Anstruther is a beautiful town, but can be very busy in summer months.
Great for a walking holiday along Fife coastal path but it is not mobility scooter friendly with narrow pavements and no dropped kerbs.
Great selection of fish and chip shops and small cafes.

The cottage was in a great position for a view of Anstruther and a 5min drive to the seaside front was ideal.
Anstruther is a great fishing village, with plenty of cafes and restaurants for all needs, with easy access and parking along the front, with a 5min drive either way to other quaint fishing villages.
Haddock & chips was perfect. ;)
Location was steps from the harbor and a variety of food options. 10-15 minute walk to the grocery. Excellent location for walking the coastal path. Thoughtfully appointed and beautifully decorated and had everything we could need. Extremely comfortable beds, pillows and living/dining furniture. Great kitchen for people who would rather eat in. Plus Fiona is lovely to work with and communicates well. Very easy check in process. Would definitely stay again and be happy to recommend this home to others. Glad The Bank was booked up!
Wonderful large room overlooking the small harbor. Large windows on 2 sides, everything had been updated to a very high standard. Bathroom was very well done. The breakfast was superb with wide variety of offerings and cooked to order. The cozy restaurant served delicious food. Anstruther is a small village and so much better for us than the crazy traffic and noise in St. Andrews. Stay in Anstruther, enjoy the harbor and walking around the town. If you must go the St. Andrews it's just a 20 min. drive away.
A cosy, accommodating hostel, in an old building brimming w/personality! Excellently located. Woke up to the sound of waves slowly crashing up against the shore. The kitchen was well-equipped and spacious, the toilets and showers were clean and well-maintained. The bed was delightfully comfortable, and the hostel itself was inviting, charming, and wonderful. Darius was friendly, prompt, and professional. My stay in Anstruther was excellent thanks to the lovely Murray Library Hostel :-)
Close to the harbour in Anstruther, spacious and well-equipped, and the outside seating area is a bonus (if it isn’t raining). The house has lots of children’s books and games, which we didn’t use but would be great for a family with younger children. The kitchen was well-equipped and the TV and Wi-Fi worked very well. The beds were comfortable, the bathrooms were clean, and the showers worked well. The Dreel Tavern across the road is a great location for dinner.
Room was very good size with super king size bed and modern bathroom. We had a back room number 1 which suited us fine as it was nice and quiet. We had breakfast and dinner which were both good and the staff were very friendly and attentive. The hotel is in a great location right in the middle of Anstruther. We parked in the car park opposite the hotel which is free from the 1 October I would imagine difficult to get a space in the summer.
The location is good, positioned near the 'centre' of Cellardyke which means close to Anstruther for walking to shops and other amenities, but also positioned nicely for a walk to the 'far-end' of Cellardyke for the coastal walk, swimming etc. The property is right by the shore, only a few steps away from a nice rocky cove and access to the coastal walks and nice views over the Forth.
Lovely house, everything in good condition, well maintained and comfortable. Easy walk to centre of Anstruther. Also just a short walk to join Fife coastal path. The coastal scenery is superb. We walked in both directions along the coast on different days and enjoyed our car free days. Well worth doing. Good parking. We had a very good stay.
The owner hosts, Mark and Jennifer, have created a wonderful B&B in Anstruther. The home is elegant, beautifully maintained and appointed, and creates a warm and inviting atmosphere for guests to relax and enjoy. Our room was quiet, spotless, and comfortable. Mark and Jennifer did everything possible to ensure a wonderful stay.
The Location of the apartment is excellent, within easy walking distance of Cellardyke and Anstruther. These villages have great restaurants and lovely clear water for swimming in. We just can’t put into words how good the location and apartment were. On our next visit to Fife guess where we will be booking!!!!!
We really enjoyed the seaview. The bath was really pretty. The staff were really accommodating with our check in and check out. After a long week of work this was a welcomed stay. It is ideally placed in the lovely town of Anstruther and close to the fife coastal trail.
EXCELLENT ROOM WITH VIEWS OVER THE CHURCHYARD AND TOWARDS ANSTRUTHER HARBOUR.
VERY FRIENDLY PROFESSIONAL STAFF, VICTOR THE BAR MANAGER AND HIS TEAM WERE SUPERB.
FANTASTIC BREAKFAST AND EVENING MEAL IN CONSERVATORY WITH SEA VIEWS.
VERY GOOD CHOICE OF BEERS ETC.
Very friendly manageress who was very helpful and welcoming. There were a few minor issues but nothing significant. The breakfast was definitely to my liking. I really enjoyed my visit to Anstruther and my stay in the Royal Hotel.
Really well maintained and spotlessly clean. Very well equipped. Very tastefully decorated. Lovely accommodation for a couple of nights. Easy walk into the centre of Anstruther. Would recommend this accomodation.
clean and friendly, better than any hotel nearby.
the bed was extremely comfortable and the view from our room was right out to the open ocean. spacious kitchen fully stocked with anything you might need.
ideally located, Brackness House is prefect for exploring Fife. Robert and Catriona were excellent hosts and very knowledgeable about the area. The big Scottish breakfast and the showers were fantastic!
Cleanliness and location were perfect for us. Close to the beautiful coastal path and also local restaurants and grocery store. Multiple golf courses nearby and a short scenic drive to Saint Andrews.
it was very high end in terms of linens bathroom facilities a nice garden and 5 minutes away. from Anstruther the.breakfast was outstanding and the owner very obliging and excellent attitude
The staff were really friendly and gave me tips with regards to parking and beaches nearby the hotel. The harbour and the centre of Anstruther are only a 1 min walk away from the hotel :-)
Best Breakfast we ever had in Scotland. Everything was homemade an absolutly delicious. Clare is a wonderful host. Very warm, friendly an funny. We would definetly come back again.
