The Boot Inn, hotel in Boot

Situated in the quaint village of Boot, The Boot Inn offers free WiFi access, free parking, a bar and a restaurant.

I booked this for my husband and he loved it. He and his friend had a great meal on the Friday night and the staff kindly offered to make them a packed lunch instead of the inclusive breakfast as they wanted to get out walking early. The room was lovely and clean, and the staff couldn't do enough for them. Location was great for a day up Scafell Pike (about 30 mins drive away from Wasdale). Would definitely recommend!

Loved the surrounding area (with the alpacas). The room & bed were both super comfortable to stay in. Really enjoyed all the little touches in the decor and the services provided (cake in the afternoon, breakfast was amazing, great recommendations of nearby restaurant, the mini bar had tons of options). Staff very friendly and welcoming. Very close to the deepest lake in England - would definitely come back and stay here!

NEWFIELD INN, hotel in Boot

Set in Broughton in Furness, 31 km from World of Beatrix Potter, NEWFIELD INN offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant.

Did the job, cute wee room above a traditional Cumbrian pub. Great place to stay if you also want to enjoy some real ales and Cumbrian food. The staff were all lovely and it had good heating (not always the case in these parts). The breakfast the next day was tasty and served in front of a roaring fire.

Dale View bed & breakfast, hotel in Boot

Located in Holmrook and only 5.7 km from Muncaster Castle, Dale View bed & breakfast provides accommodation with sea views, free WiFi and free private parking.

Breakfast was wonderful, choice of cereal, fruit, pastries, full English, toast, juice tea or coffee. Catered for special dietary requirements with good choice with no fuss whatsoever. Room super cosy with exceptional extras in toiletries and refreshments. Much thought went into making guests have all their holiday needs catered for. Host friendly and confident enough to let guests freedom to come and go without fuss. Location wonderful, on a main road but it’s not a much used road and you could not hear any nighttime noise at all. Use of hosts garden which was a little oasis.

Not easy access to Boot due to narrow roads but worth it.

Not easy access to Boot due to narrow roads but worth it. The Ravenglass steam railway is very close and worth the trip. A lot of interesting country pubs in the Boot area that are worth checking out, in particular the Boot Inn with a outdoor beer garden and very good food and friendly owners and staff.

    Pub is lovely.

Pub is lovely. Room we had was spacious reasonably clean and very comfortable. Food very nice. Breakfast ample choice. Fresh and well cooked. Restaurant menu reasonable variety and each dish we had was well presented. Good portions and very tasty. Be aware this is a dog friendly venue. Not all the clientele have good control of their dogs. Not suitable unless you have your own transport.

    The area is stunning.

The area is stunning. There are amazing walks of all types, a river to splash and play in and a steam train that takes you up the valley. For the history enthusiast there is also an amazing ruin of a Roman Fort on Hardnott Pass and a working water wheel in Boot.

Beautiful little village but with surprisingly a lot to do...

Beautiful little village but with surprisingly a lot to do there. The Boot Inn served lovely food. The water mill and Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway are right on the doorstep. It also an ideal spot to walk from, a short stroll to a waterfall or full on days hike up Scafell Pile without even getting in the car.

Driving over the Wrynose and Hardknott pass to reach the pub...

Driving over the Wrynose and Hardknott pass to reach the pub was an adventure in itself as the road is certainly challenging even ina car! The pub is in a small remote village surrounded by beautiful countryside and with walks starting from the front door. Food was good traditional pub food and the breakfast was an excellent full English. Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was small but comfortable, but with no TV or area to sit and read. The view was slightly spoiled by the mobile home accommodation for the staff. Because of the location, beer, pub food and staff I would certainly recommend as a base for a walking holiday in the Lakes

Superb location, absolutely beautiful. came via the two passes, not for the faint hearted or the Audi A3 driver who thought his car was the width of a bus. Lovely hotel , staff friendly welcoming and very attentive. Food superb even reserved a table for me in case I wanted an evening meal. Menu extensive, portions massive. Beer range excellent 5 draught ales , plus craft ales, plus lagers etc. I'm a real ale drinker so didnt bother with the other stuff. Service brilliant thank you. Bed soft and the pillows were wonderful

What a great place to stay was used as a base for a fair few hikes and I chose to take hardknott pass to get to Boot and what a drive it was. An amazing place to stay and would stay again in a heart beat. The cottage had everything that was needed a private garden with bbq if needed and a fully equipped kitchen, I chose to eat at the boot inn which I highly recommend what a great pub right at the door step
