We are motorcyclists so one of our primary demands was safe motorcycle parking and this was met. The owner was really nice, the location on the edge of town, and the breakfast was also excellent.

A very warm welcome from Tony who even made room for our motorcycles in his garage.
The room was very clean and well equipped, the biscuits and sweets were a lovely touch.
The breakfast was fantastic and the fresh fruit and homemade yogurt was a real bonus.
Tony's suggestions on where to visit and motorcycle routes were really helpful.
Tony and Sandra were perfect hosts and I would not hesitate to recommend Bronwye guest house

We were amazed at the effort that was made to make us feel welcome and comfortable. The extra little touches added by the hosts were classy. I won't spoil the little surprises by revealing what awaits you as a guest at this B&B. The room and en suite facilities are spotlessly clean, you won't find better. They have a novel way of presenting breakfast in your room that works perfectly. We had a fully cooked English/Welsh Breakfast, delicious. I have never met the hosts before and we only stayed one night, just the nicest of people.

We were given the friendliest welcome!
The room was large, spotlessly clean, and with lovely views.
We had a quiet and very comfortable night's sleep, facilities were great, and the Welsh breakfast - delicious and a lot of it! - was brought to us in our room, which was big enough to house a table and 2 chairs.
Parking facilities are ample too. What's not to like? 😊

The property is very rural and closer to Hay on Wye than Builth. If you like holidays that are mainly rural/scenic with small towns then this is good. Good for cycling etc Hay is a bijou town and Brecon appealing. We visited a few old churches close by, many from Norman times - fantastic. Art exhibitions in both Hay and Brecon. Eating in hay is relatively cheap and most appealing

We stayed at Builth 1) Because that was the location of the cabin.2) Builth is close to Rhayader and we wanted to see the dam and scenery there.3) Builth itself had a good choice of places to eat and is a nice town with good sized car park.It is easy to get around Builth and has a good choice of places to eat from cafes to restaurants. Can't say there is anything we would avoid.

The township is lovely, plenty of shops, cafes and pubs. Clean well kept town with a sense pride. Friendly too. There is the river with a long path running alongside it. This is used by the locals with kids or walking their dogs. Always people out and about.

A small friendly Welsh town famous for the Royal Welsh Showground with its wonderful events at different times throughout the year. Beautiful location within a scenic, rural, surrounded by beautiful hills and mountains, and close to Brecon Beacons National Park. Enough options for all needs, re restaurants, pubs and shops. But not too much to be overwhelming, nicely accessible for our short stay.

Beautiful spotless comfy accommodation.
Beautiful spotless comfy accommodation. We were staying for the Hay Festival and although off the beaten track, it was pretty close to Hay on Wye. The owners left some Welsh cakes and a bottle of wine which was a lovely gesture and much appreciated. The accommodation is brand new and has everything one needs. Would highly recommend.
The owners were the most accommodating people I've encountered when booking a hotel/b&b and tried to help in all ways as we'd arrived unexpectedly with a car and trailer full of motorbikes. The room was very tidy, well decorated and had wonderful additions such as makeup removed cloths, hair wraps, biscuits, sweets, ear plugs, eye wipes etc. The service was excellent and the breakfast was delicious. Would 100% stay again if we were in the area.
Scenic countryside setting with great views. Warm welcome from Richard and Jane who booked a meal for me at the local pub, very accommodating and helpful. The local inn is a 5minute walk and there are some great walks in the area with the historic town of Builth Wells a short car drive away or 5minutes on the train. Having the railway station nearby is a real plus with connections down this lovely valley.
I was very happy at Nick and Lydia guesthouse. Very friendly and helpful. I was amazed by my breakfast on the morning. I had a typical Welsh one, homemade, of course with local products. That is a plus when, as a tourist from abroad, you want to discover a country. I also noticed in my room, few homemade cookies. After a full week traveling through Wales, it's definitely my best stay. I warmly recommend.
We stayed with our teenager and our dog and we all loved the Hay Barn. A very high quality holiday home, which was warm and very comfortable. Great base to see beautiful countryside and mountains nearby. Lovely touch to have a few basics already there and a some welcome drink/crisps. Very thoughfully stocked with games, books etc. Lovely seperate garden space & views from the lounge.
That there was a good welcome on arrival, parking was easy, there was a great folder with the history of the town, lots of books adding a homely touch, and home made biscuits and chocolate drinking mixture which is a rarity in a hotel. The breakfast was made from local produce, and overall a relaxed atmosphere.
A great place to stop when travelling through Wales.
The location was excellent in a beautiful park with the river running through it. It was good to be able to book just 2 nights. When we arrived the living area and kitchen seemed fine plus 2 of the bedrooms were a good size. It was a few minutes drive from the centre of Builth Wells.
The location is beautiful, the nearby town Builth was a 20 min walk over a rope bridge through the hotel estate and along the river to the small bridge. The people of Builth are very friendly and the town hosts many local pubs which all will give you a warm welcome.
Stunning location, cabin was well equipped, warm and cozy, considering it snowed nearly everyday!! Loved watching the pheasants and birds and a red kite swooping on prey in the open space. Great space to be able to walk the dog and she loved playing in the river.
The lodge was very clean and more spacious in the living area than we expected. The weather was a bit chilly in the evenings and it was good to have heaters to keep the place warm. We very much enjoyed watching the rabbits and birds and the lovely surroundings.
The whole experience at Smithfield Farm was excellent. We were provided with home made cake every day which was a bonus plus we have to say that the breakfast was exceptional. We will book there again if we ever return to that area.
Beautiful location - the grounds were stunning.
Delicious food for dinner and breakfast.
Our room was lovely - spacious, lovely bed, clean and well decorated in the style of the hotel.
Friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere.
Breakfast was lovely, though felt a bit of pressure to be down at time specified the night before. The room was very nice and spacious, with privacy for each twin bed. Car park on site, and excellent location on the high street.
The room was very large, very clean and very comfortable, the host even delivered breakfast personally to our table in our room, never had that before, if you are going to this part of Wales, then stay here, 4 star plus.
Great hotel, comfortable rooms and an excellent breakfast. Would recommend to anyone looking to stay in the area.
Bar made a handy place to set up the fishing equipment in the morning.
