The location was pretty and not far from the main road or the Welsh Botanical Garden.
The hosts could not have been more helpful or welcoming.
The room was scrupulously clean and the bed really comfortable.
Our dinner was delicious and far better than expected in a country inn. The menu was modern and the food cooked whilst we watched.

Do yourself a favour and stay here! Original old building that’s been tastefully updated - great bathroom with lovely products, comfy couch and bed, garden view, good lighting, connectivity and plenty of good coffee/tea etc. Hosts friendly and helpful. Restaurant downstairs is delightful and served best food we’ve had in UK. Lovely countryside, good pub just down the road. Best place we’ve stayed. Loved it. 😊

We saw the town on a Sunday. Vey quiet.
We saw the town on a Sunday. Vey quiet. However, there is more to the town than first glance (just), but too much retail - so much unoccupied. Given history, very little historic class on view. The hey day has gone, what now? Perfect accommodation, very close to town.

There are some really interesting shops and businesses in the town centre. Sadly, in common with many towns, there are too many empty/closed shops and rundown buildings. That said Carmarthen's location is ideal for visiting the NBGW

Carmarthen was a nice town to walk around for a day but I wouldn’t want to stay longer than a long weekend. The castle was locked with no reason or explanation when the internet states it’s open ? Many tourists were also under the same impression as us and miss informed by Google.

For a bank holiday and festival weekend, there seemed to be very little going on. Difficult to find a restaurant meal, so had to get takeaway. From that point of view, we probably didn't see the town at its best.
Enjoyed a trip on the steam railway, and few minutes drive from the town, and know from previous visits to the area that the surrounding countryside is lovely,as is the river.
Such a lovely place, very quick and easy to find, plenty of space to park, safe for kids as not near any busy roads and private, super friendly baby cows in a paddock just outside, the cottage is really comfortable, slept very well in this bed! The homemade breakfasts far exceed anything you have in a hotel, Marion is such a lovely host, I'd be very happy to stay here on my own as it feels very safe and welcoming. We will definitely be going back!
Really enjoyed my stay at the 'Pantyrathro Hilton'. The owner Ken was a really nice guy and very helpful. The hostel had a kitchen which was handy for cooking a meal in and a nice bar downstairs where you can relax with a pint and chat with Ken or the other guests. If I'm ever back in South Wales I'll be booking here again.
I had some concerns after reading some reviews. Yes it is a pub and there is no reception but it was a great place to stay. I heard no nose at night trim the pub. And it was a good experience being in a welsh pub watching Wales win a match in the rugby cup. Food was very good. Staff very nice
Wish we would have found this place years ago, we come down to south wales once or twice a year. Bringing our dog means we are limited to were we can stay, but the potting shed is just what we needed. The potting shed was like a TARDIS, the pictures don't do it justice.
The fact that it was on a farm. The breakfast choices were very good, and the owner just lovely. Friendly & helpful.
The location was perfect for where we wanted to go, & actually would have been perfect for anywhere on that side of South Wales.
Falcon Hotel is a lovely place, the staff are amazing every each one of them, the food is lovely breakfast is lovely best fried bread ever had. Food is cooked to order so always hot seriously Falcon Hotel is a lovely place to stay we will return
Beautiful location, easy access by road, near the town & the beach.
Tidy, well furnished chalet with everything you need.
Plenty of things to do in the area (30min. drive radius).
Good communication with host.
Good value for money
The toll house looks small but is very spacious inside with all mod cons, and very comfortable definitely worth a stay, we loved this place ideal place to stay for access to all of west wales definitely be back soon
Beautiful big, clean room in courtyard of hotel. Very comfortable and large comfy bed too. Really good breakfast, plenty of choice. Shame we were only there for one night. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again.
The location was ideal. Close to the nearest town, but with the feel that you were in rural Wales. The host was friendly, helpful and very welcoming. We loved our stay and look forward to coming back
Absolutely everything , anybody thinking of taking a break with the clean fresh air in Wales just go ahead and book as soon as you can . The host couldn't make you more welcome
Very comfortable beds giving a good nights sleep followed by an excellrnt breakfast.
Disabled parking bays adjacent toi hotel entrance although limited to 2 places
Breakfast included in price. Most hotels have stopped breakfast, and kept the price the same. And had VAT reduced during lockdown. The Drovers Arms is good value.
This location was beautiful the only thing I would say is make sure you drive because it is in the middle of nowhere and taxi one way to town cost £30 .
