Great overnight stay in a lovely pub. Nice extras in the room such as bottled water, small wine and tea & coffees. Great location, right in the centre and finally good value for money as there was a sizable selection of breakfasts Inc in the price. I would stay again

The location is perfect, set back a little off the road. It's within walking distance of the bus stop if you want to venture out. There's plenty of amenities within a couple minutes walk. The room had a good amount of space and great facilities. The bathroom was beautiful and really spacious, despite a sewer smell coming up through the sink when using it. HUGE plus for us is it being dog friendly

Peak Cavern - The Devil's Arse was worth a visit, we loved it. Peveril Castle - The walk was worth doing just for the view. A very picturesque village. Lots of pubs and cafes. Lovely little cottage. Be aware of steep steps upstairs. Couldn’t use log burner as log store locked up . There was no property information as is usually in holiday rentals. Excellent location to Mam Tor, Winnats Pass and surrounding...
Excellent location to Mam Tor, Winnats Pass and surrounding walks. Village pretty and quaint with a few shops, tea rooms, restaurants and pubs to visit. Visitors center within the village. We stayed at the Castle, nice enough. Also ate there for dinner and food and service was good. I'd say Castleton is a place you'd stay for 1-2 nights.Cassidy - 10Scored 10
We love Castleton.
We love Castleton. It is such a great place for walking, from a short walk along the river to Hope, to 3-4 hour walks to Mam Tor or Loose Hill (this includes returning to Castleton). And there are some cozy fireside pubs right in the centre of the village with good food. We have stayed overnight at 3 pubs (Ye Olde Nags Head, The Castle and The Cheshire Cheese) and its just great. A few gift shops, but no supermarkets .... which means we are not tempted to do the shopping while we are away! To be honest I don't know where the nearest supermarket is. Have fun in Castleton!

Wonderful place, have stayed many times , plenty of walks for all abilities, the caverns are well worth a visit, and Peak cavern is a brilliant venue to see live bands and films, all the pubs are warm, welcoming and all the meals we have had were good value and excellent, never mind the real ales, well worth a holiday.AndrewUnited Kingdom - 8.0Scored 8.0

Castleton is a lovely village with lots of things to do and see. You have to like hiking and hills especially. There are numerous pubs all offering similar ware and all having a warm ambiance that makes you feel welcome. The village is full of history and is truly the gateway to a lot of hiking routes, mines, and just general nice English things you can and should doLaidlaw

But more than that the villages around have tons of lovely pubs, shops, and history as well as being in a beautiful part of the world where you can go for walks long or short. YHAs are no frills but for 30 pounds to have your own room, have it be quiet and free wifi- you can't really complain.HeidiUnited Kingdom

Unlike other hotels I've stayed in, there was a generous amount of coffee and milk in the room with tasty cookies. The breakfast was also delicious and there's a bar with a pleasant seating area downstairs. The staff are super friendly and smiley. We will definitely go back as the location is great and there's much more to do in Castleton than we expected.
