The location was central and within walking distance of the old town and lots of good cafes/restaurants, with a lovely sea view. The staff were really friendly and helpful (Jenia in particular - thank you!). We had a problem with the hot water in our room and it was sorted out within 10 minutes.

Bedroom and communal rooms were all tastefully decorated and comfortable.
The terraced garden was particularly enjoyable, with seating and a very wide range of colourful plants and flowers.
At top of 'old high street' which has many small interesting shops, art and antique dealers.
Everything you might want for breakfast!

Hastings is a gem that i hadn't discovered before even though it is only two hours away from our home by car! it can certainly give Brighton a run for its money!
I hadn't appreciate that it is so big and therefore staying in St Leonards is quite a stretch by foot. We did use a bus though on one occasion which would work well if you had longer to figure it all out.
In the future I would seriously consider staying longer there. The May day events were so well organised too and every pub ( The Smugglers) and restaurant ( the Thai bookshop in George Street, Webbe's sea food restaurant on the sea frornt and Fagins in George Street)we went into we were greeted wholeheartedly-despite it being busy. The food in each was excellent.

I love Hastings. But I don’t appreciate it when the apartment I booked didn’t happen to exist.I had to book another place which was fantastic. The whole experience was stressful and not welcome, it was supposed to be a relaxing break.

Hastings has weathered recent years rather better than many...
Hastings has weathered recent years rather better than many towns. The Old Town area which was a little run down on my last visit has now been restored with many restaurants and the narrow streets had a friendly vibe missing from places like The Lanes in Brighton. The town centre is nothing special but only has a few empty shops. St Leonards seems to be its more upmarket twin although the transition between towns is seamless. The coastal area is varied including an under cover "bottle alley" and some good coffee shops (Goat Ledge being my favourite with a hippy vibe). It also felt safe with groups of people of all ages just enjoying being outdoors by the sea with some music. There seem to be plentiful buses to explore further afield and there are two funicular lifts to the top of the cliffs for a more scenic view and to visit the castle. Other towns on the south coast may have a better reputation, but I doubt that you'd get a hotel with sea view at such an affordable price and the locals are universally friendly.

Being a resident of Hastings for most of my life, The town like many others has it's up and downs, The area of St Leonards is peppered with bars and eateries as is the Old town of Hastings.
I can't recommend enough an Italian gem La Bella Vista on the seafront of St Leonards.

Hastings always has a lot to offer but going off season means a lot of the places are not open. But there is still plenty to see and do good variety of coffee shops restaurants and bars to suit all tastes. St Leonard’s, Bexhill, Eastbourne and Brighton are all within driving distance. George st has loads of quirky shops to browse in. In peak season the fair ground and amusement arcades are great for the kids. Highly recommended.
Maggies is best for fish & chips
Two bulls for steak. Or go to Bentleys steakhouse in bexhill for the best steak experience plenty of Italian eateries. And there are 3 great wet fish and seafood outlets at Rockanoor
The location of Tower House 1066 was great for the purpose of why we had went, we had an event at the Oval hastings and it was a 15 minute walk from the venue. The town centre is also within walking distance around 15-20 minutes. The staff were polite, friendly and helpful telling us where we could go if we wanted to get food and also helping us with travel tips. The rooms were clean and the beds were really comfortable, each room came with 2 bottles of water and had shower gel / soap as well as towels in each room.
Like spending a night in the home of a wealthy Victorian writer. Beautiful, authentic project of a home and garden whose owners allow privileged access to during their stay. If you have an interest in antiques doesn’t have to be this period - you will love it.
Hosts are welcoming and willing to talk about their passion or not as you wishes excellent value and most interesting stay in Hastings area.
We will go back - wonderful stay
sea front view , very old hotel not tried to take out old features moodiness to a good standard, lovely big rooms and great bathroom . bar and restaurant , time of year I was there menu for evening meal did not have lot on it but as out of season except that but meal I had was very good , about 10 mins walk to station 30 mins walk to main town along sea front , bus stop not far from hotel .
The hotel is a beautiful Victorian building situated on the sea front in Hastings, so is close to shops, cafes and bars and sight seeing is within walking distance. It is privately owned and from the outside looks like it has been recently painted. We had a sea view room and the room was large and spacious. There was some parking at the front of the hotel and street parking available also.
This isn’t a hotel - it’s a guesthouse. So you’re emailed key details which you unlock from a key safe. But it’s GREAT. Really nice touches - huge towels are something most hotels should pick up on - and very safe and secure. Right by Hastings train station and it will take you less than 5 mins to walk down to the sea. Book with total confidence. It’s like having your own apartment.
The rooms and building were very clean, and the kitchen area was of a modern style. Friendly staff on the 24 hour reception. The location is right in the middle of new town. It’s a busy street of bars and restaurants- but our room was very quiet.
I certainly may rebook when I’m back in Hastings again. I was staying for a gig at the crypt and this hotel is perfect for that!
The location was perfect to the train station, as well as accessible to old town. We had a lovely ocean facing room with a balcony which was great! I believe we were lucky receiving the balcony! Room was a bit small, however we didn't travel to Hastings to stay inside! And even if we did, we had a beautiful view of the ocean. Would definitely stay again if in the area!
For £100 per night the hotel is a comparatively good price for Hastings in high season.
Hotel looks like it's had recent redecoration. Tasteful minimal rooms, bed a bit old and lumpen but new linen and carpets, different pillows so you can get a comfortable preference, which I thought was considerate and the bathroom was spotless and new-looking.
Delightful staff and a delicious breakfast. The hotel was full of character and very well maintained. This part of Hastings never ceases to delight and offer so much to explore. Will definitely go again.
I also had my nails polished in the beauty salon and that was great too. A normal polish lasted nearly a week!
We were walking from Rye to Hastings with our two teenage daughters. We received a wonderful welcome from Vincent. The Parisian interiors made the stay luxurious as did the wonderful food and exceptionally comfy bed. We even had our boots retuned like new the next morning. Thank you.
The hotel had everything you needed, i.e., TV, kettle & supplies, storage space (open shelves more than drawers) and en-suite bathroom. It is located on the sea front nearer the pier than old town but it's not far from the centre of Hastings.
Comfortable room, good service, friendly staff, Sarah explained all the details regarding the hotel and the room clearly and in full.
Overall a very enjoyable stay and I will certainly book there again the next time I'm in Hastings.
The room and facilities were spotless. The chambermaid wanted to clean every day but we said no. We live spotlessly! The hotel was situated perfectly, for town, old Hastings and the seashore. All road and rail links were brilliant.
The location was ok, but nowhere to park, not even close. Loved seeing the set for Mr Foyles house, and the range of hippie 2nd hand clothing shops. But...............you could get a 4 star hotel for less !
No 46 has very comfortable rooms, clean and welcoming. We have stayed there 3 times now and when visiting Hastings l always check if no 46 is available
