The tucked away location was lovely, really quiet, and well signed so was easy to find. Pauline bought out a much needed pot of fresh tea and lovely cake on arrival. A welcoming log burner was ticking over in the guest lounge. Both Pauline and Roger were so friendly, and as farmers ourselves, my husband chatted away with both.... relentlessly! Our room was clean and comfortable. I liked the fact that there was a little fridge in our room with PROPER MILK... hallelujah! It was lovely to fall asleep with the odd moo of a cow in the background. Breakfast was divine. This farmhouse B&B is a REAL gem and unbelievable value for money. We absolutely will be back next time we are up North. Thank you Pauline and Roger.

I was late arriving so phoned to ask if a meal could be put by for me. The staff were excellent and so helpful, reading the menu to me over the phone and duly providing my late meal. Outstanding service.

Its just a beautiful, lots of cafes, pubs, restaurants and quirky little shops. Then some great walks right on the doorstep walk down the Radical steps (I suggest not walking up them unless you are full of energy and value your knees!) then right along the river to Devils Bridge. I cant recommend the Vault at the Tourist information centre, what a brilliant was to show the history of the town and why not visit the Chocolate mine in 'Chocolate'

I’ve been to Kirkby Lonsdale a number of times as my relative lives there.
Loved the brewery, which was a hidden gem. Atmosphere great, log fires and the pizzas looked lovely.
We went to Plato’s for food. There wasn’t much vegetarian choice. Also went to Avanti one night.
Lovely walk near the river and the cottage was very central to all amenities.

Plato's is a lovely boutique hotel in the interesting, historic, hilly, and beautiful old town of Kirby Lonsdale, which is perfectly situated for touring both The Lakes and The Yorkshire Dales. Our comfortable and nicely-appointed room was on the third floor and had a window seat that overlooked the street. Somewhat tucked away, the hotel was quiet, even though it was near the center of town. We appreciated the excellent breakfasts--and the pass for free parking in the nearly lot.
This is a charming cottage in a delightful spot right next to the church and in town. We could walk to pubs and shops, which was such fun. Parking varied, but we always found a space nearby. The kitchen was stocked with milk, butter, bread, coffee and even a bottle of Prosecco! The place is cute and cozy with room enough for two people, especially if they are not very tall. Our host was easy to contact and very responsive. We enjoyed our stay very much.
This is a very old building quite quirky plenty of parking when we arrived we couldn’t be more welcomed, although the restaurant was close at the moment due to Covid issues we went for a takeaway arriving back the owner supplied us with all the cutlery and plates we needed we took along our pup as this is a dog friendly hotel and there’s plenty of grass for her to run around. Would we go back YES we would.
This quirky property is amazingly comfortable and in a fabulous location. Decor is perfect and the addition of the outside area is fab for an evening drink, or a morning read in bed with coffee. The Kirkby Lonsdale brewery is a fantastic place to spend any hour of any day. Also recommend the bakery on the high street. The walk along the river is a proper treat, as is the nearby waterfall walk.
Me and my husband stayed in this cozy studio for 2 nights , it was absolutely perfect 😊 .
It was spotless, modern and perfect for locating everything. 5 minute walk into Kirkby Lonsdale.
Our host Margaret introduced herself when we arrived and made us feel very welcome.
We will definitely return at some point....

The location is excellent. Situated inbetween Kirkby Lonsdale & ingleton falls.
The leisure facilities have good pool, steam & sauna. These two things save this hotel, we probably would of gone elsewhere of not for the facilities.
You do also get a good view from the bedroom depending which room you get.
Lovely cosy cottage opposite a nice church in a perfect location for visiting Kirkby Lonsdale! Nicely decorated throughout, and perfect size for 6 adults for a cosy stay (especially with the log burner going!). Good selection of board games for a boozy night in too!
We loved the location and being in the heart of Kirkby Lonsdale. We enjoyed being within walking steps to great restaurants and shops. On street parking was very easy, despite our visit during a bank holiday weekend.
perfectly placed and easy to access. good sized room that was well appointed and bed very comfortable. great breakfast with plenty of choices. staff friendly and helpful. perfect for a Kirkby Lonsdale stay
