Excellent food, clean and comfortable room, very homely setting. The staff were friendly and efficient. The setting is beautiful and we particularly found the printed walk instructions extremely useful

Very nice and comfortable room. I had to get an early start, so especially appreciated the nice woman (owner?), who made me a very generous packed lunch instead of breakfast. She even left me cereal and milk.
With a fantastic location in Exmoor National Park on the cliffs of the North Devon coast, Chough’s Nest Hotel offers free Wi-Fi and free parking.

Very quaint.
Very quaint. It is known as Little Switzerland and certainly lives up to that name. We ate at our hotel The Rock House and at The Village Inn. Also breakfast one morning at The Rising Sun (sister hotel of The Rock House.)Everything is within walking distance. All the shops are gift shops or food outlets. Nearest small supermarkets are up in Lynton, easily accessed by the Cliff Railway. There are no Banks, Post Office or ATMs in Lynmouth. Most pubs and hotels only accept card payments.

We first came here 46 years ago on honeymoon so it was great to come back again for our anniversary (we have visited several times over the years) and not much has changed. It is still beautiful, friendly, quiet and a place we will return to again.

First class place to have a short break.
First class place to have a short break. Lots of walking around the area, good selection of shops, although the majority were closed due to staying in late November. Disappointed the railway wasn't working linking Linton.
The location was excellent. Everything in Lynmouth was within walking distance. You could walk to Lynton via the cliff railway too. Breakfast was great even at the sister hotel The Rising Sun on a Monday. Room 8 was very comfortable. The bathroom was a great size with a brilliant shower. Everything was spotlessly clean. All staff were very friendly. It's great to have a carpark at The Rock House as parking is limited in Lynmouth.
Spacious, well appointed and recently refurbished. High ceilings with good light. Perfectly located in the centre of Lynmouth with great views of the sea, river, park and S Wales. Lynmouth and Lynton are lovely and in the perfect location for the best walks like 'Valley of the Rocks' and Watersmeet. The OS North Devon, Exmoor and the Quantocks' has plenty of local walks. The parking space was a massive bonus.
The staff was excellent, offering good service and flexibility. We booked BB only, but their meals were good, and we had all our dinners at the hotel. We had one of the rooms with a designated parking space, which works well. Otherwise, road parking duration is limited, and you would need to use one of the public car parks. The location is excellent, right on top of the action, with nice walks in the area
The Bath Hotel (with the adjoining Ancient Mariner) was excellent - staff were also excellent. We used the hotel for 2 nights as a base to walk part of the south west coast path. One day we walked out the Valley of the Rocks and the other day out to County Gate and return to Lynmouth. The coast and woodland areas were beautiful. The Blue Ball at Countisbury was well worth stopping off for lunch-great pub.
Lovely views along the coast and along the river from the windows and the terrace. Peaceful and quiet location. Friendly and helpful owner on site. Steep walk down through the pretty garden into Lynmouth, a couple of seats on the way back up for a rest. Easy access to lots of beautiful walks without even taking out the car.
Lovely spacious apartment, bigger than expected. Very nicely decorated & fitted, obviously a lot of thought from the owners. Ideal location for walking round Lynmouth & Lynton with good eating very close.
Very quiet which is a real bonus after noisy hotel rooms!
Super helpful staff who responded quickly when we reported a plumbing issue in our room. Very friendly personal service. This historic hotel is in a great position on the front with fantastic views. We had a very comfortable stay and a great breakfast.
Breakfast was excellent. The location was central to where we wanted to be. The owners of the hotel were very friendly and always available to help. The evening meals were wonderful. Amazing few days in Lynmouth and we hope to be back there soon.
Amazingly FRIENDLY and HELPFUL staffs. Room is CLEAN and WELL maintained. EXCELLENT breakfast and the hotel is centrally located (with FREE parking). Overall, we had a PLEASANT stay here at the property. Highly Recommended ...
Orchard House is very warm and welcoming and the hosts couldn't do enough for us. It is central to everything in Lynmouth and excellent value for money. The room was very spacious, well equipped and even had a four poster bed.
The bedding was nice, the room was clean and functional. The mattress was comfy. The cooked breakfast was lovely and the service at breakfast was great. The location was excellent, Lynmouth is beautiful.
Excellent breakfast and rooms. The rooms and the guest house were very clean. Staff were very welcoming. Guest house is located in a beautiful part of Devon, great for walking.
We had a fabulous stay.
The location was ideal for our journey along the North Devon Coast. We were made very welcome on arrival and Jan and her team were excellent throughout.
Dinner was first class, as was breakfast.
Location was excellent. Poor weather prevented us from our planned walk, but we chilled out in the hotel instead and took a long drive out to explore the surrounding valley
