    I Love Morecambe.

I Love Morecambe. There is a good community feel about Morecambe. i have wonderful Tai reasonably priced massages when I am there. There are street plantings and lots of seating. Good charity shops. Very good eating places. Lots of inspiring street art. The Morecambe bay views and sunsets are fantastic and the northern lights can be viewed from there. We ate plant based food at the Midland Hotel which was reasonably priced. It is easy to get around. the buses are regular and you can get rides in pony traps. I would never go to The Clifton hotel again but it was cheap.

It's on the up and is my town of choice whenevrer I have to use the ferry from Heysham. Great shops and a lovely prom. when the weather is nice! Close enough to Lake District and Blackpool to use as a base.

Some of it has been regenerated but it still needs a lot of money investing to bring it up to scratch. There are very few places to eat at night. Pubs and bars are run down. Hopefully the Eden Project will inject new life into it.

    Morecambe is in poor shape.

Morecambe is in poor shape. Boarded up and derelict buildings abound. Much of it has the feel of rougher areas of Manchester rather than a coastal resort almost in the Lake District. It also seems too spread out. Instead of the main things being centred around one area, they seem to be dotted about here and there, in a strange, disjoint way.

This is a great hotel, in an excellent position overlooking Morecambe Bay. Check in was straightforward. The room was superb. King size room, and bed, with fantastic views over the bay. Lovely little alcove in the room with comfortable chair meant you could relax and watch the sea/bay. Great double shower. Breakfast was very good. Pre-ordered, but very well organised each morning. And the hot breakfast was top quality, great bacon, black pudding and poached eggs in particular. All staff friendly and helpful. Totally recommend this hotel

We didn't spend much time in the hotel as we were visiting family, the room was a nice size with a view over Morecambe Bay, the bed was comfortable and the breakfast was good. The hotel doesn't have parking but there was no problems parking on the prom and there is a covered area for you to pull your car into in case it's raining when you want to pack your car. I've stayed at similarly priced hotels on Morecambe Prom and I'd recommend The Strathmore over them

Everything about the hotel is first class (slight exception regarding breakfast). The hotel is just a few yards from the seafront and a short walk to the centre. The rooms are very comfortable and a fantastic bathroom with a great shower. They have a very nice restaurant on site and a great beer garden outback.

Easy check-in and well-situated hotel with a sea view from our room. I visited with a friend as away football fans; the hotel is only a short walk from Morecambe's stadium. The walls were thin, but no issue once I put earplugs in. Cannot fault the service for the excellent price.

We booked this very last minute as we had to visit Morecambe on urgent family business. We have stayed in several beachfront hotels over the years and this was by far the best. The room was a good size and well heated, decent size bath and huge TV. Magnificent views across the bay.

The breakfast was excellent, well cooked, hot, and ample. The hotel was on the front in the quieter side of Morecambe with beautiful views over the bay. The hotel was comfortable, the hosts helpful and the cleanliness was superb. There were books on the area which you could borrow.
