Paignton sea front was too busy for me but the actual town and the outskirts of the town have everything you need. Travelling to all the other towns and villages was very easy and paignton is a great base. The beaches around the coves are amazing.broadstones beach is stunning. All i will say is be prepared to pay everywhere to park even the beaches make sure you carry cash for the toilets too.

We stayed about 30 min walk from Paignton centre.
We stayed about 30 min walk from Paignton centre. Did go into Paignton. Quite busy on the seafront. The pier is mainly a big arcade. We couldn't access to the end of the pier when we went . Didn't go into the shopping centre.
We did get a Chinese take away from Rickshaw Boy and ate it in the car overlooking the sea ( made a change to fish and chips) We spent the day at the Zoo which was well worth it. Saw baby orangutan amongst other animals.
We went to Totnes which is a quirky place full of boutique shops, cafes and had a lovely feel about it.

Paignton has a lovely long beach and is very safe for families ,but the tide comes up to the promenade in places, it is easy to get onto the beach, not completely sandy but still able to make sandcastles. there is lots of activities too crazy golf, kids rollercoaster etc. we ate at the hotel but there are a lot of restuarants to choose from. an awful lot of amusement arcades there. it is flat to walk around, but not too many shops around

The pier and the harbour was great, the side streets with arcades and gift shops and town looked run down and dirty nothing like it used to look years ago.
Paignton has changed so much and not for the better.

Paignton is your typical bucket and spade family holiday with amusement arcades and lots of places to eat. Wonderful beach and promenade with pier. There are many other small beaches within walking distance along the coast path including goodrington sands.
Excellent transport links for trips to Brixham and Torquay plus the famous zoo.
Breakfast was excellent so much choice to choose from English fry to cereals, fruit and cooked freshly was superb, having a fridge and cool fan in the bedroom for this time of the year in July was excellent!!!
Friendly family run hotel, Molly was nice and cute dogs.
Location is like my second home, where my Grandparents lived in Paignton so I've been visiting Paignton since I was a child of eight years old.
I love the hotel right near the beach, Vue Cinema and town. It has everything here! I'd definitely recommend staying here.
Everything! St Weonards is the best B&B in Paignton in Devon fact! If your ever in Paignton and you can book here you won't be disappointed! The property is immaculate clean & tidy smells amazing absolutely amazing even the towels! The breakfast is fantastic and such a choice and drinks available and evening meal. The best B&B fact. The onwers Vicky & Leigh such lovely people can't fault them in anyway possible shape or form go out of there way for there guests.
I went here in off season so the hotel was not very busy. It was no problem to stay one night longer and even cheaper (for that you should call the hotel and not book via booking.com). Everything is very clean and you have even a kettle with coffee and tea ind the room which I found very helpful since I am usually with a tent and camping gas. The beach and city centre are very close. The host was very helpful, considerate and I liked to chat with her.
Pauline & Phil are lovely hosts and went out of the way to make sure I could arrive and park up early. Also let me put my luggage etc. in the room. I was visiting to celebrate a family birthday and needed to be earlier than checking in time. The rooms were immaculate the breakfast excellent and their cordaility was really good.
The views are outstanding and only a short walk to Paignton town. All in all a brief but excellent experience.
To be perfectly honest, the first breakfast we went to the dinning room, both our words were WOW, it’s like the Jewel in the crown, very modern, absolutely spotless, food was gorgeous and very well presented
Hayley & Paul are two of the nicest people you could wish to meat and rest of the staff ever so nice, we have stayed in many guest houses, hotels etc in Paignton over the past 40 years this is defiantly now our number one
The building and grounds.
The sea front location.
The friendly, helpful and courteous staff.
Nice bright, clean , comfortable, well appointed and quiet sea view room ( other than Wednesday evening).
Dining facilities for dinner and breakfast are good.
Nice afternoon tea on the lawn.
We selected this hotel based on good reviews. We would return.
Alan & Trish & Gemma has been very kind in hosting us. They took care of every little detail we mentioned. The breakfast was delicious, and so was the location. Cherry Tree Hotel made us like Paignton a little bit more. Alan & Trish even helped us with local sight seeing recommendations. Thanks, Alan and Trish, for making our stay so wonderful.
We stayed in Paignton with family, the hotel is dog friendly which was perfect for us. Everything was great! Staff were very friendly&helpful, fantastic food, rooms, the beds so comfy and hotel facilities excellent. I would highly recommend it to anyone and we will definitely be back when in Paignton again. Thank you :)
For the price I didn't expect much, but this hotel is great. A very warm welcoming feeling from arriving all the way through to checking out. A warm cosy (and clean) room with a comfortable bed...........and a breakfast to die for!!
We were in the right location to visit the Paignton zoo, were able to walk there and into Paignton, there is a bus service also. There were lots of things to do near our hotel and places to eat which were good value
Hotel was in a great position next to Goodrington Sands. Breakfast and cleanliness were very good. Found the hosts and staff to be polite and helpful. Would definitely use this accommodation again.
My booking was room only. There are many places in Paignton to grab a morning snack. The location of the Clifton is remarkably quiet given its proximity to the town centre.
The hotel is a large imposing building overlooking the Paignton Esplanade, the rooms are clean and comfortable.
Evening meals are good, but the menu is a little sparse.
Owners Steve and Claire really nice people. Fantastic location for Paignton, parking space , clean and tidy, spotless with a good breakfast. Will definitely stay again
The hotel was warm and homely. The room a great size with plenty of storage. Located in the best part of Paignton with amazing owners who made the stay so special.
