A beautiful little town with so much to offer, we were booked for only 2 nights but we were so lucky because the weather was very good, I went down to the beach at sunrise and it was so calm and relaxing and not cold at all. It’s never going to have the same clientele or whether of the south of France but what it lacks in the weather it makes up for in the welcoming atmosphere of its people and the beautiful scenery is never going to be replicated anywhere else in Europe. Our hotel location was on the South side of Scarborough...
Our hotel location was on the South side of Scarborough which we prefer due to being quieter with great walks, Italian Garden area and panoramic views of the harbour town area and beach. The town centre area has plenty of shops, eateries and entertainments but not as preferable. We didn't visit the North bay area but it does feature a great park area to explore. On busy days traffic routes through the town can be tiresome and badly signposted for unfamiliar driving visitors. (without satnav guidance maybe?!) Parking can be problematic so do some homework before booking a location.

I actually really like this place , we went to a small local restaurant called II Piatto ( I went there the last time I stayed) you may need to book but you will not be disappointed with the food. They also take the taste card so you get 2 for 1 on a main course.

Beautiful beach.
Beautiful beach. Very hilly to get to town but a tramway provides a great service to and from the beach. Food delicious. Fish and chips, dohnuts, pies,. Can do boat trips and a crazy golf too. I noticed Cobwebs in the reception area and main glass doors with continued finger prints plus other windows around the property should be cleaned on a regular basis. I paid a lot of money for the one night stay and it would be nice to see some added toiletries in the bathroom, I truly hope that the hotel gets a good renovation. The hotel staff were amazing, and the food was excellent.

Having said that: ignore Scarborough. Go to Cayton Beach - half hour walk, 5 mins car from the hotel. Then go to Beverly, Whitby or Robin Hoods Bay . The Farrier is an experience you should have. One of the best Hotels I have ever had the pleasure of staying at. Staff, Food, Rooms: exceptional. High end Kitchen. Down to Earth Staffing. High Value Surroundings. Perfect.

Check in was quick no waiting. Reception has been renovated. The bedroom was huge, clean, it has also been renovated. I wasn't expecting much but was pleasantly surprised. Happy with price we paid £74 for a family room and it's ideal location close to town centre and beach

It's very quiet in this hotel. You can't have a better location in Scarborough.
