A beautiful little town with so much to offer, we were booked for only 2 nights but we were so lucky because the weather was very good, I went down to the beach at sunrise and it was so calm and relaxing and not cold at all. There is so much to see and do but just didn't have time, planning on coming back soon.

It’s never going to have the same clientele or whether of the south of France but what it lacks in the weather it makes up for in the welcoming atmosphere of its people and the beautiful scenery is never going to be replicated anywhere else in Europe. The only thing that I would recommend to anyone who is interested in opening a restaurant, go for it as it is not over blessed with top quality restaurants in and around the central area of the town.

Our hotel location was on the South side of Scarborough...

Our hotel location was on the South side of Scarborough which we prefer due to being quieter with great walks, Italian Garden area and panoramic views of the harbour town area and beach. The town centre area has plenty of shops, eateries and entertainments but not as preferable. We didn't visit the North bay area but it does feature a great park area to explore. On busy days traffic routes through the town can be tiresome and badly signposted for unfamiliar driving visitors. (without satnav guidance maybe?!) Parking can be problematic so do some homework before booking a location.

I actually really like this place , we went to a small local restaurant called II Piatto ( I went there the last time I stayed) you may need to book but you will not be disappointed with the food. They also take the taste card so you get 2 for 1 on a main course.

    Beautiful beach.

Beautiful beach. Very hilly to get to town but a tramway provides a great service to and from the beach. Food delicious. Fish and chips, dohnuts, pies,. Can do boat trips and a crazy golf too. Town centre has shops and quirky unique ones too. Beautiful place, Of course the tV show The Royal was filmed here too.

Beautiful hotel but it needs some updating, I think management should check the cleaning around the hotel more. I noticed Cobwebs in the reception area and main glass doors with continued finger prints plus other windows around the property should be cleaned on a regular basis. I paid a lot of money for the one night stay and it would be nice to see some added toiletries in the bathroom, I truly hope that the hotel gets a good renovation. The hotel staff were amazing, and the food was excellent.

Location is secondary to this Hotel.... The Hotel itself should be on a place to go to and enjoy. Having said that: ignore Scarborough. Go to Cayton Beach - half hour walk, 5 mins car from the hotel. Then go to Beverly, Whitby or Robin Hoods Bay . The Farrier is an experience you should have. One of the best Hotels I have ever had the pleasure of staying at. Staff, Food, Rooms: exceptional. High end Kitchen. Down to Earth Staffing. High Value Surroundings. Perfect.

Great first impressions, friendly welcome by the host and helpful friendly staff. Lovely large, immaculately clean ensuite room with comfortable bed. Excellent quality evening meal with great choice and equally excellent breakfast. Could not fault anything about this lovely traditional Inn that has so much character including a lounge with open fire. Would much rather stay here than in a chain hotel, cannot wait to return.

Been to Scarborough a few times and have to say this is the best place we have stayed. The rooms were great sizes and were clean and modern. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful and nothing was too much. Location is great, right near the tram to the beach (or the steps to walk down) and near many bars and restaurants in the town centre. Would recommend this hotel to family and friends and will definitely return.

I booked the grand Hotel not expecting much as I've been before but it was only for 1night and its my sons favourite hotel in scarborough. Check in was quick no waiting. Reception has been renovated. The bedroom was huge, clean, it has also been renovated. I wasn't expecting much but was pleasantly surprised. Happy with price we paid £74 for a family room and it's ideal location close to town centre and beach

My first stay in this hotel with my daughter and we are definitely coming back. Hotel is so cozy, clean. Staff is very nice. Breakfast was the best we've ever had in a hotels. The atmosphere at the restaurant was very welcoming. We stayed in a small double room and it was very clean and cozy. It's very quiet in this hotel. You can't have a better location in Scarborough.

Perfect location!! On to the seafront in no time at all!! Absolutely beautiful apartment and was ideal for a small family like us. Our little boy has multiple food allergies so eating out on holiday isn't always that simple so going for a self-catered aparthotel like this was the perfect solution. We have family in Yorkshire so will definitely be booking here again!!

I didn't have to meet the owner as there's a system where the door code and then the safe box containing room keys are given in order to allow you access to the hotel and room. It has the best view in Scarborough, and real good location, for a pretty respectable price. Also: good amount of tea, coffee, sugar and milk in rooms.
