The hotel was great, stylish, comfortable, astonishingly good value for money, with great gym and spa facilities. The room was clean and comfortable, and had a mini fridge which was useful. There was parking, and a run of shops, including restaurants and coffee shops, so that was great. The hotel was a walkable distance into the town although a little further than just a casual stroll.
Situated just off Laugavegur, Reykjavik's main shopping street, this hotel offers rooms with free wired internet, satellite TV and a minibar.

It's a perfect destination for female solo travelers.
It's a perfect destination for female solo travelers. The city is so safe and welcoming. Even outside the city, I felt so safe. Iceland is a little pricey, but there are many ways to maximize your trip without breaking bank. Shopping at grocery stores or at the 10-11. Guided tours are so helpful if you don't plan on driving. However if you are comfortable driving in all seasons (Iceland weather changes very drastically), I'd sent rent a car, buy wifi, and go adventuring. It's virtually impossible to get lost in Iceland, plus the views are worth the risk.

a small town, quiet and calm. very easy to get around, do not need any transportation, just by walking. could rain, snow and be sunny on the same day. One full day would be enough for Reykjavik. definitely join different tours to travel around Iceland. It was eye-opening! :)

Takes a couple of days to get used to Iceland and Reykjavík because its so different but then you start to appreciate its beauty and the vibe down town Raykjavik. Very ‘chilled out’ and an excellent place to walk around and eat and drink. Plenty of attractions to visit. You just need to remember that its not a cheap place to go. Expect to pay over £10 for a pint of beer or glass of wine. ( if you are reading this from London, you might think this is not expensive ! ) Having said that, we would love to visit again. The people are lovely and most speak good English.

Mixed behavior with people.
Mixed behavior with people. I dealt with a lot of happy locals and a lot of grumpy locals. We went to so the golden circle trip and we visited a mini mart close to a fuelling station to look for a car charger. The staff threw the cable literally on the counter. Very rude.
Staff at the Hard Rock Cafe were all fantastic. Hressó staff are great as well. Never had any bad experiences with them.

Reykjavik is a charming city with lots of cute shops and restaurants. It was also an easy, walkable city so you could access most everything you want to see or do in the city from the apartment. The only downside was the high cost of everything,

Beautiful city so much to see and do depending on your taste. Walking around the city is lovely and safe with lots of shops to visit. There are also loads of possible excursions to do during both winter and summer.
The Downtown Reykjavik Apartments are an affordable way to see Iceland on a budget. They are not fancy, but they are comfortable enough and provide a kitchen where you can save money by cooking your meals. (You can get to the Bonus grocery store with a 10 minute walk.) We also walked to the church and Sun Voyager from the apartments. It's very close to bus stop #13, and bus stop #12 is a little farther but is also an easy walk. Easy check in, secure, and instructions were clear. We were happy with our 3 night stay.
Staff are very pleasant and helpful, and the hostess is lovely. Building is very quaint and the location is superb, the city center and closest pool being in walking distance from the hotel.
The planes flying in to Reykjavík City Airport above the hotel were noisy, but I still enjoyed them, and luckily the last flight always was in the evening and not until the late morning the next day.
Breakfast was homely and simple, which I appreciated since I chose Baldursbrá for a simple experience. The flatkökur were excellent.
Basic, very clean guesthouse in an ideal downtown location for exploring Reykjavik or going on tours. Airport bus outside the door. Clean communal area with facilities for cooking and storing food. Small bedroom with a basin, hanging space and bedside lights had all we required. Shared toilets and shower room very clean and there were never queues. Staff friendly and helpful. Being on the 4th floor it was pretty quiet. Many fancier more expensive places to stay in the city but we found this good value for the price.
The hotel is located in the centre of Reykjavik, just under 10minutes walk to the rainbow street.
The staff did everything they could to help us, including helping with planning our day when the weather was too rough for us to go whale watching or snowmobiling.
The room was a stylish mini-apartment with fridge, hob and sink; we had plenty of coffee available.
Very cheap considering Iceland prices and the level of the stay.
Earplugs were available in our room as we were located in front of a church.
The place is a Vietnamese enterprise comprising restaurant and hotel located right in the city center and footsteps from Hallgrimskirkja. Many details appear improvised, but the rooms are clean and the mattresses new and comfortable. Don't exptect grand hotel flair, but if you want to stay centrally for a decent price, it is very much O.K. There is some renovation going on, so maybe they currently try to raise the level.
The room was perfect and location was great! Room had an espresso machine, comfy bed, two windows, heat, a TV, and they provided converters for US plugs which none of the other places I stayed in Iceland had. It was easy to walk to downtown Reykjavik from the guesthouse, but far enough out of the main drag that there was always parking in front. The bathroom was modern and comfy bathrobes were a nice touch.
Without a doubt the best places to stay in downtown Reykjavik! You’re in walking distance to explore the city and are in the perfect location to be picked up for any excursions! We rented a car and there was plenty of parking for everyone. The rooms were comfortable and cosy. We absolutely loved the buffet breakfast and the staff were lovely always!
5 STARS!!! Best hotel we have stayed at in all of Iceland. The room was beautiful and so big. It was gorgeous and so comfortable. Everything was extremely clean and the staff is amazing. Specifically, Gina who worked the front desk was outstanding with the customer service she provided us. She made our stay feel so special. Thank you Hotel KVOSIN!!!
We have stayed at the Exeter every time we visit Reykjavík and will likely always. You cannot beat the location in 101 next to the harbor, yet walkable to all of downtown. There is free overnight parking nearby which is rare and the continental breakfast is a value in and of itself. The staff are always kind, efficient, and helpful.
The hotel is located right in the middle of downtown Reykjavik. I stayed on the 8th floor and the view was spectacular. As an added bonus - if you like planes - the approach to Reykjavik domestic airport which is only 2 km away goes straight over the hotel. It’s not a busy airport so your sleep wont be disturbed.
A cute little hotel, in the center, of Reykjavík city. With good beds, nice showers, and a kitchenette. About 2 minutes away, there’s a cheap supermarket. Just a 1 minute walk, to “Hlemmur” bus stop. And “Laugavegur” Main Street, is right next to it, leading to the oldest part of town.
CenterHotel Plaza had an excellent location right in downtown Reykjavik, close to Bus Stop 1 where a lot of tours and the airport FlyBus depart from. Rooms are sufficient and clean, brightly lit and right on top of a lively square.
I really liked this hotel.. in middle of the downtown it’s really good place to stay in even the reception are amazing and they will help you in every thing that you want to know about or even as a service.. highly recommended
I loved the view from the apartment. I often rent apartments in Reykjavik but this was simply the best. It had everything you need and had a very good atmosphere. The fact that it was cheaper than most others was a bonus.
Quite downtown. On Laugavegur. That says it all. But a little bit away from All the bars so it's a good thing. Lovely rooms with baldachin beds. Quite a ceremony for a quite cheap hotel considering we are in Iceland.
Great hotel in the center of town. yes the rooms are small, but it's a boutique hotel in a city, of course they're small. breakfast was the best we had in Iceland. Staff were super friendly and knowledgable.
Hotel Muli was wonderful. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Free coffee and laundry as well. The hotel is close to many restaurants and bars as well as downtown Reykjavik. would stay again!
Beautiful home with hot tub and custom built hot sauna. The owner was very nice and helpful. This home is a wonderful place to stay just outside of downtown Reykjavík.
