Clean and spacious rooms. Great facilities and location
It’s a perfect base for exploring the golden circle and the south coast. There is only 7 km to Hveragerdi and Selfoss, cities with a wide range of shops and restaurants.

The hot tubs were a great experience at the end of a long drive across the Icelandic south coast. There was a slight smell of sulphur to the tap water, so keep that in mind if you are sensitive to such things. A great place to stay during the off-season; a complimentary room upgrade was a very welcoming touch.

The property is warm and friendly, with a family atmosphere. We arrived late and left early, so we didn't get to experience all the estate had to offer. However, it looked like there was much to explore.

We didn't actually get chance to see much of Selfoss itself as we were using the apartment as a Base for other excursions, great for south coast & golden circle as long as you're comfortable driving a hire car.
We are looking forward to visiting again in the future & seeing even more!

The Town has grown since I visited 7 years ago.
The Town has grown since I visited 7 years ago. The town pool is a great spot to go and relax. There is a fabulous food court across the street from the Hotel Selfoss -- great spot for drinks and dinner. You can still get a good hot dog in the parking lot of the Hotel Selfoss. The town is well located to visit waterfalls, geysers, and thermal pools. I would return.

A friendly town - we stayed in the camper site which was great and then a return visit to stay in a hotel and we ate in the food hall which was nice with options and variety. We also did the Skyr tour in the basement of the food hall. I would add that a wider and more of the “taste” section would be nice.
It’s a central spot to come back to or travel from and back if that suits your travel plans.

Selfoss has a sweet, mostly walkable, growing center that includes an easy, level river-walk. We found enough variety in the food hall to keep us well-fed and happy with the choices over several days. (It was recommended to us by a rental car agent at KEF. She was rightly enthusiastic about the tacos - and just about everything was solid!) Selfoss is also a great location near the Southern Coast for easy, varied day-trips - everything from amazing waterfalls to black-sand beaches, from otherworldly volcanic deposits to hot-springs, craters, and more. With Selfoss as our lodging spot, we could have happily explored for several more days.

Nice quiet town with more than just the waterfall.
Nice quiet town with more than just the waterfall. Plenty of places to eat and shop. Þingvellir national park is nearby with great views, hiking and (of course) several waterfalls. The fall colors were out during our visit the last week of September and only last a few days.
The house is amazing and much better than the description. Its warm and has a lovely lounge dinner. It has a dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, hair dryer and toiletries in the bathrooms. Loads of space for the 6 of us. The kitchen is well fitted out which is great as we cooked every night as you are not close to any restaurants. We had a problem with the hot tub and our host came over and sorted it out so we used it every night, amazing!!! The location is stunning and we saw the northern lights.
Good stay at Hotel South Coast, great location in Selfoss- we were able to easily walk to dinner and supermarket. The Food Hall was a block away with several options, but we had a great dinner at Tryggvaskalli across the way. The rooms and bathroom in the hotel were small but clean and tidy. The hotel seems pretty new. Breakfast was included and had good options- juice, fruit, hot eggs & sausage, fresh bread and muffins. I would recommend staying here if you need a place in Selfoss.
after days amid nothing entering a town is a little shock of its own
and automatic self checking it's a facility as long as it works otherwise it's another little problem ones have to solve before get in and relax
our room, clean and spacious was facing the main road of sellfoss (as all the odd) and so noisy till late in the evening
yet the coffee machine is welcomed
parking is free just at the entrance and plenty of restaurants in the neightborhood
We liked the hotel a lot. The room was small but cosy, and the shared bathroom was clean. We liked the hot pools. The hosts are very friendly and offer a superb breakfast (not included, but the room's price without breakfast is cheaper than in other places, so it is worth it). The location is close to Selfoss, which is a great base to visit the Golden Circle. We recommend it and would definitely rebook.
Location is unusual with a 360 degree view from the top of a hill which is where the hotel is located. An exceptional view of this part of Iceland which is an ancient glacial plain, so not spectacular, but very characteristic. It would be exceptional if you were pursuing the Aurora Borealis. Dinner was a very high quality fixed menu with one alternative choice of main (fish or meat).
This was a perfect location. Extremely easy to drive the infamous Golden Circle from here. Less than 1 hr from Reykjavík. Free and easy parking. The little bistro restaurant was perfect to get breakfast at 7am before heading out for the day. Restaurants near by (walking distance). Absolutely perfect and extremely pleased with this beautiful little place! Would stay there again.
Everything was great! Very well located, right in the town centre, but out of the noisiest road. 5 min walking distance to Food Hall, a venue with several restaurants and a bar. The room was spacious and comfortable, the breakfast - superb 😋
There is a spa which we did not come to try (3000 kr for the guests) and a gym (very tiny).
Super comfortable place!
Secluded and serene. Love how the homes are built on their own individual mounds of grass allowing for separation and privacy from neighbours. The homes themselves are well equip and spacious with a beautiful shower. Property has 2 friendly dogs belonging to the family roaming around, who came up to greet us and play ball. Host was very welcoming and helpful.
We had a cosy chalet on this quiet holiday camping site. The chalet was equipped with a comfortable bed, shower room and toilet, a fridge, microwave and two-ring hob. There was also a hot tub to use. Selfoss is a lovely town near the attraction on Iceland’s Golden Circle - there’s a good supermarket and good restaurants
Outstanding! Great value for the $. Very clean. Located in cute countryside. You are not just limited to your room, many resting areas available. Well equipped and spacious kitchen. Hot tub is a nice bonus. Easy check in, owner sends a helpful email prior.
Breakfast was lovely everything you needed, the restaurant unfortunately wasn’t open due to renovations however we ate in Selfoss, hot tub was fun, we were left to our own devices and asked if we needed anything which was met with friendly staff.
Just the right size, spacious and practical. And in a great location for golden circle trips. Plus selfoss has loads of restaurants and bars and supermarkets
