Sheki is an amazing city. The following places are a must see,
Xan Sarayi, Karavan Sarayi, and the Albanian church in Kishi.
Try to avoid having food in touristic places. I have noticed that they have a separate menu (Almost 75% more price) for tourists.
Walking is the best way to get around sheki. Take taxi (Make sure you fix the price in advance) to the kishi village.

If you are seeking enjoying great food in the heart of historical places Sheki is the great destination to visit. You can feel in every street, corner the warmness of local people, pleasant weather and rich nature. Though I was there in December the weather was quite warm to walking around and exploring city by foot.

A lush, green place. It can rain at anytime.
Quiet and relaxed.
Friendly people.
Buses, vans and taxis available to move around.
Some areas don't have streetlights so you might want to be careful after sunset, which was around 8:30pm.
Great place to relax, for food, silk, handicrafts and sweets.

Sheki Khan Palace is small and can be finished quickly[6rooms in all]. The walk and the views are worth the visit. The Juma Masjid is good but beware of the keeper asking for tips. You can find such people in every Masjid/place in Azerbeijan. VIP Karavan restorant very reasonable and good. Avoid the bazaar. Albanian Church of Kish is worth a visit. Shopping in Sheki could be avoided since it is tourist destination and hence rates are very high compared to other places.

Sheki can be explored in 2 days (unless you're hiking there too).
Must-see/do:
1. Shah's Summer Palace including fortress walls, Albanian Church & museum. Tip: Buy a combo ticket and it allows access to Shah's Winter Palace too, but only 1 room has been restored there. No photos are allowed in either Palace. Winter Palace is 20 mins walk away down the main road in the Old Town - not easy to find but locals will help.
2. Cemetery and Memorial - we found this gem by chance - hardly mentioned anywhere. Beautiful & peaceful with wonderful views of mountains behind Sheki.
3. The Caravanserai - it's had a lot of restoration work done to it but it's still worth walking around.
4. Walk around the old town's cobbled streets - it's not dazzling but gives an idea of how life goes on in the old part of Sheki.
5. If time, explore the 'newer' part of Sheki - interesting contrast with the old part. If you have a car, take a drive - the scenery around Sheki is stunning in parts.
Good place to eat - the Sheki Palace Restaurant - great Azeri food at good prices - seating inside & outside. Illy Expresso Cafe on the main through road is a cool place to relax for a hot drink - they let you bring in Sheki baclava from next door to enjoy with your drink.

It'll need only a couple of days maximum to experience the town. The summer palace and its environs (town walls, Albanian church, etc) are a must. The winter palace is a little hard to find but a willing local helped us to find it - only one room so far has been restored to the glory of the summer palace which may explain why we had it to ourselves. The cemetery and memorial site is very moving and peaceful and we were surprised it doesn't seem to be mentioned anywhere as a place to visit - it has a wonderful view of the mountain backdrop to the town. Wandering the old town centre is interesting too but doesn't take long. The Sheki Palace Hotel restaurant prepares great local dishes at good prices. Sheki is a nice place to hang out and chill and soak up its quite unique atmosphere.
This is a new hotel in Sheki. It was a bit cheaper than some of the more established hotels in the city and we thought we would give it a go.
It did not disappoint. The hotel is clean and room was spacious, we had a family room with separate room for the kids. Breakfast was excellent.
Location was very good, right in the centre of town and close to restaurants and shops. Staff spoke no English but he phoned someone who would
communicate with us over the phone. It worked fine. We would definitely recommend.
I recommend this location to everyone. Everything was perfect.
The host Ilahe is extremely involved, she helps you with informations, with recommendations and is always there at your disposal when you need it, especially at breakfast, being there not only to prepare the food, but also as a family member who wants to make sure that you start the day well.
The room was big, beautiful, comfortable. The location is good, near the hotel there is also a restaurant with good prices and good food.
If you dont need a location inside the old Sheki, this house is the best choice when it isn't only o room, it's a house with all you need. The room is very clear with enough facilities. The host will wellcome you with your heart and you can enjoy the best dinner, breakfast with the cheap money, i think it's very delicious and you can have the traditional food of Azerbajan in their beautiful garden with all organic food. We had a good time here, thanks with live and highlight recommended.
The staff and the location!
The hostel is very centrally located and has everything in its proximity.
Aseem was a great chap who owns and takes care of the property and has guided me well as to what, how and when to do in Sheki. He is a very good person.
A lot of renovation and extension work is going on below and I am sure this hostel will be a very good property in the days to come.
Wishing Aseem good luck!
I shall be back again!
I recommend booking the private dorm with the private bathroom. In this room, I was very comfortable and the standard of the property improved immensely. I was originally placed in one dorm that was below my expectations, but hey, it's a hostel. The important part was the property was secure, the rooms had locks, and Ilgar, the owner, was a very sweet and accommodating man who addressed every one of my needs as if it were a hotel.
The location of the hotel is great, it was easily accessible to reach everywhere by walk. All the personnel and the guy in the reception were very friendly and quite helpful to find out local restaurants for the dinner. The stuff was regularly checking quality of the service. If you are looking for a budget friendly place to spend your holiday this hotel is highly recommended.
The place was squeaky clean. Very clean washroom.
Location is top notch. Very easy communication with owner's daughter, knows English well. The communication with the owner is also very streamlined via Google translate.
If you want to experience Sheki's local touch, stay here. Other hotels/hostels might not be able to provide the exquisite local touch.
This is a home-stay with a pretty sweet family.
We felt at home immediately. The apartment is beautifully furnished and has its own charm. The breakfast was incredible and much better than we habe experienced in some hotels. We also had a lovely dinner with the whole family.
Enjoyed my stay here. It is a home stay but the guest rooms are seperate, and feel private. Good wifi, clean, easy check-in, the hosts are very helpful and spoke english, affordable, the food was good too. More fun/interesting than staying in a hotel
The location of this hotel in the mountains is the best to relax and unwind, it has great views to offer
The staff, especially the Manager Shabuhi, are friendly too.
Their restaurant has good food and drinks at economical prices.
This place rocks! The owner is super nice and really knows how to represent the true spirit of Azerbaijani culture and hospitality. We had an amazing time here, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good experience.
We had a very pleasant experience staying there. Good hotel staffs. They are responding to our requirements very fast. Hotel Infrastructure and City view from hotel is mind-blowing. I definitely recommend staying in this hotel.
this hotel was amazing, simple classy and Cosy . this hotel can be first in my hotel experiences. thank you very much perfect hotel staff . I liked so much. who visit to shaki you have to use this hotel extremely recommend.
The location of the hotel is in the middle of everything you can walk to all the sight seeing. The room was big and spacious and the staff was good enough to give us a free room upgrade. The hotel had an old feeling
Perfect location in the traditional city of Sheki. The honest service of Ms. Narmin was marvelous. It’s one of the best hotels in town I guess. nothing less, extremely suitable for family stay.
The staff were very kind and helpful.
The location is very good, near to the busy area of the city.
The minimum hotel requirements are available.
Good for a one night stay.
the room was vast and clean and Ilgar is super helpful person. The bed was comfortable and all amenities were there. definitely recommend this to anyone visiting Sheki.
